Top 5 Bars and Clubs of Monaco

The city-state or principality of Monaco is situated in between the Alps and the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.  It is bordered by the Italian Riviera on the east and the French Riviera to the west making it one of the most popular vacation destinations in the entire world.  It is also referred to as the playground of the extremely wealthy.  Suffice it to say, it is the nightlife of Monaco that is the main attractant for numerous international visitors.  We have listed the top 5 bars and clubs of Monaco to consider visiting.

Bar at the Columbus Monaco – one of the more informal and relaxing night spots in Monaco, this establishment is has a subdued atmosphere which offers visitors a welcome change to some of the other higher energy bars and clubs in the area.  The bar is co-owned by David Coulthard, one of the more renowned racecar drivers on the Formula One Circuit.

Buddha Bar – the four-foot high statue of Buddha along with the gold and red themed décor immediately catch your eye when entering this establishment.  The Buddha Bar features the Casino Gardens, a mezzanine with 160 seats, and two terraces.  Asian cuisine is the ticket and the menu offers Chinese, Japanese, and Thai entrées served in a serene atmosphere filled with live music.

Crystal Bar at the Hermitage – foie gras and lobster accompanied by some delicious wines highlight your evening at the Crystal Bar or if you prefer to relax with a fine cigar and a glass of your favorite liqueur, there is a private area designated just for that.  Casual dress is not allowed here so where a nice pair of slacks and sports jacket.

Jimmy’z – referred to as the ultimate club of Monte Carlo, it is not unusual to see royalty enter Jimmy’z from time to time as well as the ultra-rich which shouldn’t surprise considering the high price tag of the beers and cocktails that are served here.  Many a billionaire and rock star have frequented this establishment so if budget is an issue, you should choose another bar.

Zelos – located on the top floor of the Grimaldi Forum Zelos features an outside terrace where you can take in some excellent panoramas of the harbor and many of the yachts cruising into it.  You can dance the night away here and party into the wee hours of the morning if you’re looking for a nightlife that never seems to end.
