The shows will be in conjunction with Salone del Mobile (Milan Furniture Festival) and Fuori Salone (Public Design Festival) will be full of special initiatives, presentations and shows all connected to interior and exterior design and fashion. Particularly the Fuori Salone will have site-specific projects, workshops and an international contest will call on design-savvy audiences in Garibaldi, Lambrate, Porta Romana and the city center.
This year’s fifth edition celebrates the increasingly acclaimed marriage between fashion and design. There will be more than 50 events exhibiting some of the biggest classic brands’ home collections, including those by Armani, Blumarine, Fendi, Kenzo, Missoni, Trussardi, Versace. Special presentations featuring Prada Foundation, Emilio Pucci, Ermenegildo Zegna, Etro and Borsalino, just to name a few, will make their way to the stage to inspire fashion-lovers and designers from all over the world.
This fusion of fashion and design, will shine excellence and charm through the common denominator of the Made in Italy trademark. Representations of the classical Italian high-end lifestyle and its traditional cultural heritage have generated admiration from all over the world for decades and, every year, Milano Moda Design celebrates the beauty of Italian fashion and culture.
A large number of events are aimed at industry representatives, business men and women and press. However, Camera Nazionale della Moda, sees this week as a chance to offer a cultural window of this age-old industry. Thus, many public shows will provide an accessible artistic exchange for fans, tourists and curious Milanese passer-bys. Furthermore the Fuori Salone contest will be open to professional artists, but also to art students, with the aim to improve ordinary or decadent areas of the city.
* Camera Nazionale della Moda was founded in 1958 as non-profit association to promote the development of the Italian fashion industry.
