Milan has been synonymous for breaking some of the most inspirational fashion of the last twenty years. It is also (did you know?!) the second largest city in Italy. But theres much more to Milan than Gucci, Versace and Dolce and Gabbana. After the damage cased by WWII the city has undergone somewhat of a renaissance and is a mecca for travellers who not only enjoy the Italian culture but is a mecca for opera, nightlife and of course football.

Buildings that will ensure a lasting impression include the famous Duomo – one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world, the San Siro, home to AC and Inter Milan and the iconic opera house called La Scala. But it’s thirsty work all this exploring isnt it? Why not take a seat and indulge yourself in a cocktail or two at some of Milan’s best bars.
Just Cavalli Café – One venue to see and be seen at is the classy joint Just Cavalli. It is really awe inspiring and will leave you pretty much speechless. Situated at the foot of Parco Sempione‘s Torre Branca, it’s as outlandish as one Cavalli’s individual creations. A mixture of plush fabrics including extravagant antelope-furs adorn the chairs whilstgold fish swim peacefully on every table. Taking the name don’t be surprised to see those fashionistas come out to play but its worth the spectacle.
Chandalier Restaurant and Living Bar – This opulent venue fuses the decor, light and sound harmoniously. Extravagant to the core from the lavish red carpet lounge to the outlandish baroque thrones and gilt edged tables, Chandalier Bar is the brainchild of local genius Antonio Coppola. It is also recognised by many as one of the city’s coolest hotspots. Who knows you may even spot Versace or Gabbana in their sipping on a long cocktail!
Gold Bar – This certainly has the Midas touch when it comes to interior design. Owned by fashion icons Dolce and Gabbana, this split level venue is both an upmarket Milanese restaurant which is only open for dinner and a stylish bar with a delicous all day bistro. Again one to note down in the unforgettable experience section, gold does play an integral part – pretty much everywhere. From the decadent staircases to the ornate bathrooms. Sit back and gaze at the workmanship while sipping idly on a Cosmopolitan. Ah this really is la dolce vita.
