Lecce is in the middle of Salento, one of the major summer tourist destinations, especially among Italian people. Its unique Baroque style, its churches and Roman ruins make it appealing to every tourist, but what really catches visitors from all over the country is the joyful approach to life people from Lecce have. Pizzica, for instance, is the typical folk dance of this area, recently rediscovered either by youngsters and by older people, and easily reveals how fun it can be spending a night in Lecce. You can also stay a while at the Misvago Caffè or have an ice cream at the Tentazioni Gelateria: you won’t be disappointed with the friendly atmosphere!

Public transport is managed by SGM Lecce while taxi ranks are located in three spots: piazza Sant’Oronzo, piazza Mazzini and piazzale della stazione (the railway station square).
