Jakarta has always been a popular vacation destination in Indonesia, while being the capital and largest city of the country.  It is located on the island of Java on its northwest side of the island.  With pristine beaches, shopping hub and a steady mix of tradition and contemporary culture, Jakarta is a modern city with a variety of budget to luxury hotels and other accommodation.

Jakarta is also known throughout the GLBT communities of the world as a gay-friendly city and features numerous hotels that welcome gay visitors from all over the world.  For those looking for a similar vacation spot, here is a list of the gay-friendly hotels of Jakarta that we highly recommend.

Harris Hotel Tebet Jakarta – located in the southern end of Jakarta, the hotel is rated as one of the best values for the money in the entire city.  The guestrooms are all bright, comfortable, and very modern.  This is a great hotel to stay in if you want to taste a wide variety of some of the best Indonesian cuisine because it is surrounded by numerous cafés, local boutiques, street market food stalls, and upscale restaurants.

Nikko Hotel – for many tourists and international visitors, whether gay or straight, Jakarta is a targeted shopping destination.  It is located right in front to the Grand Indonesian and Plaza Indonesia, two of the largest Jakarta shopping areas.  Guestroom rates are extremely reasonable and features a great restaurant selection, a gym that is well-equipped, and a sauna, spa, and swimming pool.
