Top 7 Night Spots in Istanbul, Turkey

Currently one of the hottest spots for “clubbing” and nightlife in Europe, Istanbul, Turkey is one of the most outstanding places to experience the many discos and pubs.

Whether sipping cappuccino on a secluded terrace or smoking a hookah while drinking Turkish tea is your idea of the perfect evening, then the discos and pubs of Istanbul are must see places to go party or just relax the night away.

Here is a list of some of the more commonly recommended spots to visit while in the city.

1. Taksim

The Taksim, which means “sharing” in Turkish, is one of the better locations to experience Istanbul’s nightlife.

2. Cinaralti

If you desire to see a more modern disco complete with a big screen TV and a salon for dancing under the sky, visit The Cinaralti, located under a cinar tree, which the disco’s name is derived from.

 3. Taps

Located in the Pera District, is Taps, the only true brewery not only in Istanbul, but in the Balkan region overall. Here you can experience a pint of some very tasty beer for about $3 (USD) while enjoying the nearby art gallery, or you can spend the evening just chatting and relaxing with the locals or your friends.

4. Galata Tower

No trip to Turkey is ever complete without taking in a belly-dancing show and you can see some of the better shows at the Galata Tower.

5. Cicek Pasaji

A fabulous location for a taste of Istanbul and Turkish cuisine and a drink is the Cicek Pasaji, or covered gallery. Or if you choose to relax you can simply people-watch as you while away the evening.

6. Cubuklu

If getting out on a dance floor is what you crave, you can dance the evening away at the Cubuklu, a club that features special parties from 6 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.

7. Cumhuriyet Meyhanesi

If you’re looking for something rather unique yet slightly traditional, visit the Cumhuriyet Meyhanesi, which is a 110-year old bar and restaurant. Live Turkish classical music is featured on the 3rd floor while you can experience a wide array of delicious fresh seafood and some extremely tasty beverages. No matter what you choose for the evening, you are sure to find a venue that suits your needs and tastes.
