Filled with all the glamour and glitz that any tourist could desire, the French Riviera is situated on the French coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is famous for events and places such as the Cannes Film Festival, Monaco, and St. Tropez. However, it is a gambling Mecca for many as well and one of the more favorite tourist shopping venues in southern Europe. The biggest problem with visiting the French Riviera is the fact that there are rarely times during the year when it isn’t crowded with international visitors.

Regardless of the above, the French Riviera is without a doubt the hottest spot on the Mediterranean for those tourists and travelers looking for a diverse nightlife to spend their evenings in whether dancing, dining, drinking, or gambling. Just be aware that cover charges run as much as €40 and a beer will cost you up to €13. Here are some suggestions for nightlife venues to take in while visiting the French Riviera:
The Snug and Cellar Irish Bar (Nice) – It is a charming and inviting little establishment situated in Nice’s Old Town district. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful while the atmosphere is nothing short of inviting and relaxing. This is probably the most popular bar and nightlife venue in Nice for both the locals and visitors alike.
Le Baoli (Cannes) – this is probably one of the most exotic nightclubs you will find on this end of the Mediterranean and features an Asian Fusion bar and restaurant to take advantage of. Le Baoli is also one of the “Finest Clubs in the World” members. The menu features an incredible combination of Chinese, French, and Japanese cuisine and drinks.
Les Distilleries Ideales (Nice) – an English/French bar and club that features a “happy” hour 7 days a week and is considered the best place in the city to enjoy an ice cold beer or glass of wine. With its unusual interior décor, this is a spectacular Old Town bar that is sure to please anyone who spends a relaxing bit of time there.
Wayne’s (Nice) – this establishment is considered one of the legendary bars in Nice and is situated in the heart of the Old Town area. International travelers from countries all over the world visit Wayne’s so you shouldn’t be surprised to meet tourists from numerous countries at any time during the year. Be sure to enjoy a drink here if the city of Nice is on your French Riviera vacation agenda.
Smarties (Nice) – another one of the recommended bars and night clubs in Nice is this bar. The “Flunkies” Bar, as they call the basement venue is where you will see all the cool cats of the city spend their evenings. Make sure you spend some time in the basement to get a bit of an education.
