The 2013 Fringe Festival

Many big names took part in 2013′s festival in Edinburgh. Hannah Gadsby made a name for herself right away when she started taking her clothes off. The Tasmanian comic wanted to make a point about body image, and what better way than stripping down to nothing in front of hundreds of people? Another female, Lucy Ellinson, became the talk of the festival when she took on the role of a US fighter pilot flying drones after getting her wings clipped.

Action Packed 2014

It is time to book your cheap hotels in Edinburgh and get front seats to 2014′s festival. The tagline of “unboring” already has people talking about it. But what is in store this year?

For those with children, the story of the Snow Queen is going to be told between July 30 and August 25. Based on works by Hans Christian Anderson, it’s a tale of a young girl trying to save her friend from the Snow Queen. The comedy showdown is available for those who want to do something free. It features a number of the best acts at the Fringe Festival this year.

A big favourite that is back for another year is the Jewellery Exhibition. As usual, it features some of the most exquisite and breathtaking pieces from around the world, including the likes of the lapis lazuli and Ethiopian opals.

This is a festival not to be missed, with something for all interests and ages. Do you have your Edinburgh hotels booked yet?
