Best Tourist Attractions in Dubai

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

The United Arab Emirates are formed by seven emirates, one of which is Dubai.  It is the most modern emirate and is considered an independent city state. For people from all around the world it is well known as on of the world´s centres of business and entertainment. Dubai is also called a city of suprelativs: the fastest, biggest, tallest, largest and highest. All the sights of the city are basicaly divided into “Old Dubai“ and “Modern Dubai“ sights with a huge difference between what´s old and what´s new in the city.

Al Ahmadiya School

The Dubai´s first school was built in 1912 and now it has been restored into an educational museum. As the entry is free you might be able to find some time to visit the museum to have an idea how the educational system developed during the last 98 years since its foundation until today.

Jumeirah Mosque

This is one of a few mosqeus in Dubai open for visits to non-Muslims. It is also the largest in the city so it will be a nice experience to see the classic example of Islamic architecture.  Jumeirah Mosque is also trying to promote the Islamic world to the non-Islamic world.

Burj Khalifa

As the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa dominates the Dubai skyline. The 828 metres and 160 floors structure is a symbol of international cooperation. The observation deck is located at the 124th floor and it´s called At the top.

Palm Islands

Palm Islands are artificial islands loated off the coast of Dubai. This urban development is characteristical for the Emirate as they are currently building another artificial archipelago. Twenty years ago when Dubai started to reengineer its coast the creation of the Palm Island was just a part of it.

Shopping malls

To list shopping malls under 5 tourist attractions in Dubai might be weird. But just until you see them. Then you will understand what does it mean to visit a shopping mall in this Emirate. Venere suggests to go to the New Mall of the Emirates. All skiing addicts will appreciate the skiing centre situated in the mall. You don´t need to bring your own equipment, even a jacket, you can rent it directly there.
