The Amalfi Coast on the southern side of Italy in Campania can offer the pleasing experiences of glorious weather and incredible food and wine, but with a southern twist. Things to do in the Amalfi Coast can easily revolve around the sun and the sea, and it is these two amazing factors that the area has in rich abundance.

But you can also go on day trips out to the nearby areas of the island of Capri, the home of pizza Naples and the ancient site of Pompeii. The coast is redolent with breathtaking views and hiking opportunities, but if you happen to be looking for a relaxing beach holiday why not simply lie back with a glass of the area’s famous lemon based liqueur limoncello for a soothing aperitif.

The Cinque Terre, meaning literally the ‘five lands’, is a collection of five villages on the Italian Riviera in the region of Liguria. This location in the North West of the country is deeply loved by its devotees and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Part of its unspoilt charm derives from the fact that the region consists of track-ways and paths rather than motorways and major road connections. Vernazza is one of the most well known villages in the area and visitors can easily spend a fantastic holiday experiencing the rustic charm, balmy weather and amazing cuisine on offer.

Vernazza hotels can bring a comfortable stay and eye-opening cultural and natural experience in the village to wonderful fruition. Here holiday makers can become acquainted with the incredible local food and wine at local restaurants and cafes. Long walks along the beautific coastline can be enjoyed form dawn to dusk in the wonderful climate of sun and sea breeze.

In real terms, when it comes to Italian coastal holidays the discerning tourist is truly spoilt for choice. The Amalfi Coast and the Cinque Terre region offer a multitude of attractions and experiences. The choice, as they say, is yours!
