There’s been a lot of talk recently about London‘s Coffee. Caffeine haven Penny University has recently opened, which is certainly giving people something to talk about. But there are still some London folk who reckon their very best coffee comes from out the back of a cart. And actually, they’d be right. The little coffee carts that pop up over the place are doing a roaring trade (or should that be roasting?) at the moment. People will always need coffee, won’t they?

Here’s where to find the best coffee carts in London:
Caffe Mobile, Upper Street, Angel.
I’ve seen very grouchy Angel-ites be transformed after a cup of coffee from here. They turn from sulk hungover beasts into humans again! nice folk here, and they’ll do you an orange juice if you ask them nicely.
Soko Coffee, St Albans.
You’ll have to go out of your way to find this little coffee cart, but they’ve got a bit of a green kick going on so if you’re in the area and you want to save the world while you get your caffeine fix, this is where you should head.
Flat Cap Coffee, Strutton Ground Victoria
If my friends over in Victoria are to be believed, this is the only place in the area worth going for coffee. Granted, in the strangely barren area that is Belgravia there isn’t much competition (now, I’m not counting that Pret by the station), but this place do seriously good beans. Nice blokes too from what I hear. I do favour nice people who give me coffee.
Pitch 42, Whitecross Street Market
There’s something lovely about drinking coffee in a market isn’t there? I’m not a huge fan of Borough’s branch of Monmouth (so busy, and frankly I’d like the choice of skinny milk) but this little cart captures all the atmosphere without you getting frazzled. Then you can just wander about and drink.
Exchange Coffee, Lewisham High Street
I’m a South East London girl, so decent coffee in the area is very important. Shame it’s not closer to my local Greenwich, but beggars can’t be choosers, and I will actually hop on a bus for a decent cup. I’m off here right now actually.
Got an awesome coffee cart in London you want to tell us about? Where do you get your caffeine fix?
