Where the nightlife in Budapest is concerned, this is a city that does not like to disappoint the locals. Tourists will find the local party scene filled with dozens of uniquely original bars and nightclubs. So if you would rather be sitting in an Irish style pub and sipping a draught beer while still be influenced by the West, you won’t find that in the Budapest nightlife. And unlike the nightlife in other major European cities, there is none of the vulgar extravagance that you normally witness in their bars and clubs.

If you still have the energy for any evening out on the town after spending a busy day touring the city, we have some recommendations for you. The following is a list of the top picks for nightlife spots to visit while vacationing in Budapest.
Menta Terasz – decent food, a beautifully landscaped garden, a lounge, and a nightclub all in one is the easiest way to describe this establishment. Along with Hungarian cuisine, you can also enjoy other international foods before taking off for the lounge and the nightclub dance floor.
Club White Angel – located near Hajógyári Sziget, this is a really massive nightclub and can accommodate up to 2,000 people at once. This is one of the newer clubs in Budapest so it has a very modern air about it with the innovative décor used on the inside.
Holdudvar – another one of the newer establishments in Budapest, this club was opened in 2006. It is located in an older home that was renovated into a bar and nightclub. Interestingly enough, by day this is an indoor/outdoor restaurant and his one of the hippest open-air establishments in the city.
Gödör Klub – free WiFi and tasty beers are the norm here if you want to spend a relaxing afternoon. However, when the sun goes down and the night scene begins, Gödör Klub metamorphoses into a totally different animal. It is a favorite of locals so be prepared for crowds if you go clubbing at this location.
Corvintető – another one of the newer clubs recently established in Budapest. It is located in the heart of town and is actually situated on the roof of a shopping mall. Although the entrance tends to be a bit hard to spot at first, you can’t miss the club itself as it sits higher than most buildings around it.
Club Tűzraktér – fairly unique establishment in that it is mostly open-air in nature and sits in what used to be an old manufacturing plant’s back yard lunch and break area. It is a rather large club so even when it gets crowded there are plenty of seats and the dance floor rarely gets over crowded.
