Budapest Ferihegy International Airport (BUD) is located around 16 km from the city of Budapest. Trains, minibuses and taxis connect the airport to the city. The airport has three terminals: 1, 2A and 2B. Terminal 1 and the other two terminals 2A/2B are connected by a bus service.

Bus and Metro

Bus number 200E is direct bus between the airport terminals 1 and 2A/2B and the Kőbánya-Kispest metro station. From the metro station the M3 metro line takes you to the city centre and is the most affordable way to travel between the airport and the city. Bus 200E picks up passengers from both Terminals 1 and 2 leaves frequently from early morning until after midnight. Bus number 93 connects Terminal 1 to the Kőbánya-Kispest metro stop.

Train Services

A train service connects Terminal 1 to the Budapest Nyugati Railway Station in the city. The trip takes half an hour. The train station has two platforms and they connect to Terminal 1 via a footbridge. Train tickets can be bought in Terminal 1 or from the ticket machines on platform B. To travel from Terminals 2A and 2B to Terminal 1 and the train platforms, use the bus 200E.

The Airport Shuttle Minibus

Minibuses to the city centre are available around the clock and drive passengers to most destinations in the city. The minibuses work on a ride share basis and passengers who travel towards the same area in the city use the same van. This means several stops on the way to the city as the van lets out passengers. The minibuses are air-conditioned and have space for 8 to 10 passengers. All terminals have an Airport Shuttle Minibus service desk for arriving passengers.

Taxi Companies

Zona taxi is the official airport taxi service. Taxis wait for passengers at the taxi stand and the Zona taxis offer fixed rates that are based on different zones in the city. Several car rental companies have offices at the airport as well.
