St. Peter’s magnificent 15th century castle on the hillside that overlooks a harbor is what you will find in Bodrum, Turkey.
It is one of the prettier historical towns that you will encounter if you travel here and want to explore the area. Despite being what many refer to as a cosmopolitan resort, it is filled with white-washed housed dating back to ancient times as well as some of the narrowest and winding roads you will find anywhere in the entire country.
Turkey is a charming country to visit to say the least and the Turks are renowned for their hospitality as well. There are some of the most pristine beaches and diving spots that you will see anywhere in Turkey and is still one of the more popular tourist destinations of the entire country. However, despite all this, Bodrum’s best kept secret has got to be its nightlife.
For dining there is nothing better than Demeter’s Garden Restaurant with its patio dining area and its panoramic seating on the terrace. This is truly the top of the list when it comes to a bar/restaurant establishment. Though there are different opinions about the best bar in Bodrum, the Atlantic Bar still gets rave reviews and caters to the largest crowds. You will find this bar on Barstreet, a mile-long street that runs along the Mediterranean shore and offers spectacular panoramas of the sea.
When it comes to the nightlife in Bodrum, you will be amazed at the fact that there is so much more than what you are aware of. Additionally, there is a venue for every taste, form the quiet and subdued to the boisterous and always crowded. Bodrum has been accused of being Turkey’s “party capital” for many years now evidenced by the fact that there are more bars here than anywhere else in Turkey.
You have your choice of all genres of music, fashionable restaurants and pubs, intimate seaside cafes, and trendy bars that offer all types of entertainment and dancing. The following is a list of the top entertainment venues and pubs in Bodrum:
- The Marina Yacht Club – located in the heart of the entertainment sector of Bodrum. It is located close to the beach so the scenery from the hill that it rests on is noting short of spectacular. This is your best choice for a great evening’s entertainment.
- The Voyager Bar – situated near the ferry to the city. The serving staff is excellent and the drinks continually flow. Just be sure that you get there a little early if you want a decent seat at or close to the bar.
- Harry’s Bar – the best sports bar in all of Bodrum with an emphasis on English football (a.k.a. soccer). TV’s are everywhere so you won’t miss the action of any match and the pool tables are free.
