Whenever you mention Orlando, the first thing which comes to mind is Disney World.  Granted that this is the most famous and popularly visited of Florida’s theme parks by locals as well as domestic and international tourists, but there is an array of theme park to be visited in the area.  Here are our top picks for the 6 must-see Florida theme parks.

Walt Disney World – the dynamic enchantment and magical atmosphere of Disney World is unparalleled while the characters and the rides at this theme park make this an amazing world in itself and well worth exploring.  Disney World is unrivaled because no other theme park has been able to outdo the way in which this entity has based its existence on the historical characters it is known for.

Universal Studios Florida – some of the more renowned Universal Studio characters await you along with great food, entertaining shows, and exciting theme rides.  With its cutting edge technology and feature attractions, Universal Studios is the vacation experience of a lifetime.

Gatorland – this theme park/wildlife preserve was established in 1949 and is called as the “Alligator Capital of the World.”  In addition to its assortment of over a thousand alligators and crocodiles, Gatorland features an aviary, a boardwalk, a marsh for breeding, educational programs, an observation tower, a petting zoo, reptile shows, and to enjoy swamp walking.

Islands of Adventure – part of the Universal Orlando Resort complex is the Islands of Adventure established in May of 1999.  It became part of an expansive project that now includes the City Walk, Hard Rock Hotel, Portofino Bay Hotel, Universal Orlando Resort, and Universal Studios Florida.  A journey of exploration is the theme here with stops at six different islands, each with its own distinct adventure and theme.

Wet ‘n Wild Water Park – another Universal family member is the Wet ‘n Wild Water Park established in March of 1977.  This is also revered as the very first water park in the US and was featured on the Travel Channel’s episode of Extreme Waterparks.  Kid’s rides and multi-person thrill rides along with dozens of other activities help with the park’s consistent rating as one of the premier water parks in the US.  Everything from high speed body slides to relaxing river rides are waiting for you.
