Ibiza Beach in Spain

One of the most popular holiday and vacation destinations in the Mediterranean Sea is the Island of Ibiza situated off Spain’s Iberian Peninsula. Of all the Balearic Islands, Ibiza is the 3rd largest of the group. Needless to say, located in the Mediterranean Sea, there are numerous beaches (80) to be explored while visiting the island.  Ibiza is well known for its spectacular summer beach parties.  Here are a few recommendations for beaches to enjoy and explore while visiting the island.

Cala Jondal

Its friendly ambience makes is a popular destination for single travelers as well as vacationing families.  It is also a favorite of some of Europe’s famous and wealthy individuals.  Cala Jondal is situated in a very secluded bay on the island which makes it such a popular destination.  Additionally, you will find bars and restaurants decorated with spectacular décor and rich in atmosphere.

Cala Benirras

Known for its extremely blue, clear waters and fine white sands, the beach offers some privacy because of its isolated stretches of shoreline.  During the peak tourist season, Cala Benirras can get extremely crowded with tourists.

S’Aigua Blanca

One of Ibiza’s most splendid beaches, it is a favorite of the summer party crowd.  Be aware that some tourists prefer this beach for nude sunbathing although it is not recognized officially as a beach for the nudist crowd.

Cala Xarraca

Surrounded by some very impressive cliffs, you will only find a few houses and restaurants dotting the landscape of this beach.  Water bikes are available for rent so that you can explore the beautiful shoreline and find one of the many deserted and tiny beaches that exist here.

Ses Salinas

Described as the “coolest” beach on Ibiza, its beautifully broad, extended shoreline features 5 different beach bars, all with their own special musical venues.  If you want to be with more of the party crowd, venture to the eastern side of the beach.  However, this beach features one of the most spectacular views of the sea.

Playa Des Cavallet

Situated on the south side of the island, this is the official nudist beach in Ibiza so it is not a recommended venue for families with children.  Long white strips of sandy shoreline and a wide array of sand dunes are what this beach is most noted for.  By far, it is one of the most beautiful of the island’s 80 beaches.

Playa de Ses Figueretes

This beach attracts a large portion of the tourist crowd because of the numerous buildings that you can find there.  The beach is packed with dozens of small bars and restaurants resulting in the size of the tourist crowd that it attracts.  If you can handle being among hundreds of locals and tourists, this beach is a must-see while you are staying on the island.
