Magical describes this great getaway location. If you are at a lost for the best summer holiday destination for 2009 do not look any further.

The Mykonos Islands, Greece, are like a rare and beguiling jewel consisting of a wealth of culture and beautiful merging into a melting pot of lush landscape and golden beaches. The sandy beaches of Cyclades are in fact some of the most golden beaches in the regions. The sophistication of the Mykonos Islands only but enhances the attraction of this Greek holiday spot. Noted as being one of the most famously known islands in Greece, Mykonos will simply take your breath away.

Take the time to discover the neighboring island of Delos which is one of the most historical areas of Ancient Greece. In fact the Delos is a very small island at the heart of the Cyclades. The historical significance of the Delos makes this a superb location to explore dating back to the days of the Greek god of light called Apollo and Artemis, the goddess of hunting. The name Cyclades comes from the unique formation of near by islands to the Delos Island which begun to appear in circular configuration. The islands date as far back as the 3rd millennium B.C.

One of the islands most famous aspects and point of mention are the beaches. In two words golden and translucent best describe the beach experience waiting for you when you touch down at the airport of this glorious island. The closest beach to Mykonos town center is known as Agios Stefanos. Located on the north side, expect this beach to be one of the more overcrowded beaches due to its close proximately. Some of the facilities you will find at this beach include plenty of water sports and activities.

For the most popular beach you will definitely want to try the Platis Gialos. Local buses provide transportation to this beach for easy access and convenience. This beach can be described as golden sand with eye catching “turquoise” clear waters. Here you can also partake of an assortment of water sports activities along the shore. Water sports activities are available on almost every beach and are a large part to the island’s beach going experience. So, do expect them to be present on almost every beach in the region. This is great news for those who are aficionados in the way of all this water sport or water activity.

But, if you are in search of sandy white beaches and coves, the Agios Ioannis will mesmerize you with a collection of small coves especially available to the general public. This beach is quite the famous location for feature films such as “Shirley Valentine.” This beach is located on the west side of the island with an outlook of the Delos Island. It is said to be both relaxing and calming at the same time in comparison to the other numerous beach locations. General access to the beach is provided by way of a local bus service.

Winter may not be behind us just yet, but with springtime just around the corner why not look at Zagreb in Croatia as your next spring beak holiday destination. The weather to say the least will be simply divine.

A Look at Zagreb

Zagreb is the capital of Croatia and has been so from 1991. Considered the cultural Mecca of Croatia, this thriving city will provide a wonderful blend of the old and new. Europe has a grand ability to do just that. In Zagreb this is no exception to the rule. The history behind the independent state which grew out of two medieval communities is definitely one for the historians to take great delight in.

Things to Do in Zagreb

Seeing Zagreb by foot is highly recommended. This allows you to experience the city up close and personal and even stumble upon off the beaten track alley or passage ways. Some sights to put on your list of things to see and do are the Medvedgrad. The Medvedgrad are some of the most impressive mountain around and have the strategic position of overlooking the city allowing for the perfect overview of the magnificent city. On foot your tour of the city will take in the cultural aspects of Zagreb and provide you with a most comprehensive intimate look at this fantastic city. Other very impressive sights to behold included the St Catherine’s Church. In a word this church is just simply glorious and a definite must see.

Where to Stay in Zagreb

The Movie Hotel enjoys a very central location which allows you to venture out and explore Zagreb at your leisure whether it is by foot or automobile. Near the main arteries named Ljubljanska av., this location is convenient from anywhere in the capitol to arrive at especially with a tram situated just outside the front doors. Located just in front of the Movie Hotel, tram station is an excellent way to get around to the outer parts of the Zagreb. On a short journey via the tram you could arrive at the main city square in just 15 minutes. Boasting of a rather impressive wine cellar, this hotel will treat you to the finest in wines Croatia has to offer. Other perks of the hotel include parking and wireless internet facilities for your convenience. This Zagreb hotel gets great review and top marks when it comes to customer care and looking after you during your holiday stay.

Where to Eat Out

Eating out in Zagreb will be an experience you will not want to miss. Dining out does not set you back financially as it is as affordable as it is enjoyable. This is great news for those on a budget. Local specialties such as salted sardines and anchovies, fresh water crayfish, pašticada - a dish of marinated beef served in its own special sauce and Dalmatian prosciutto and pancetta which all come highly recommended. There is something very special about sampling the local cuisine of any holiday destination. It is safe to say that you should expect something just a little more than the ordinary when seeking the ultimate dining out experience in Zagreb. Either way you will be pleasantly surprised.

Enjoy your travels!

However, it is especially special at Christmas time. Christmas traditions are alive and well in the streets and hill tops of Switzerland.

The Chlausjagen Festival

The Chlausjagen Festival or Feast of St. Nicholas is celebrated at sunset on 6 December. This celebration features a procession of ‘lifeltrager‘ wearing gigantic illuminated lanterns in the shape of a Bishop’s mitre on their heads. Swiss traditions sees the masses awaiting the arrival the Christ child called Christkindli carrying with gifts for all in his reindeer-drawn sleigh. Silver bells are said to herald in the arrival of the Christkindli making the momentum leading up to his appearance wonderfully exciting for child and adult alike.

Very popular holiday activities during this time includes cross country, snow skiing, snowboarding, skating, ice fishing. Other must try activities are horseback riding, sleighing, snowmobiling just to name a few. Lake Geneva is perfect for exploring all the wonderful elements that make up this winter wonderland location as an ideal holiday spot. Lake Geneva has something for everyone.

The Great Electric Christmas Parade

The Annual Great Electric Christmas Parade is an annual night parade that sees the locals and foreigners alike come out to partake of the festivities. Productions are held throughout the winter holiday season so be sure to get your tickets in advance.

Another celebration to attend is the Festival of Lights which takes place the weekend of the Great Electric Christmas Parade. It is at this time you will find the hospitality of downtown shops, special holiday dishes in local restaurants, carriage rides, and tree lighting ceremony in front of the Riviera Ballroom, entertainers, and live reindeer, Father Christmas at your disposal and for your entertainment.

Recreational activities are an enormous part of the holiday celebration. It is for this reason that Lake Geneva makes for a fantastic holiday spot for couples, families and singletons. Most popular celebration activities include a wealth of food and great entertainment, helicopter rides and excursions around the lake area itself.

Competitions are available for those with the winning spirit to join during the holidays.

While Christmas is considered one of the grandest and longest holiday of Sweden, the Swedish holiday just simply is not quiet complete without the magically element of the Swedish holiday cuisine.

Candle lighting has always been the foundation of the Swedish holiday traditional but it is the Swedish holiday dishes that annually are the supreme element. With the following Swedish traditional dishes such as “Potatis Korv,” “Ham a la cajsa warg” (Swedish Ham) and cabbage pudding (Casserole) you will not go wrong for the holidays. These three very traditional Swedish dish recipes are fairly comprehensive and easy to follow.

1. Potatis Korv (Sweden Christmas Sausage)

2 lbs. lean pork, ground
2 lbs. lean beef, ground
6 med. potatoes, shredded (uncooked)
3 tsps. salt
2 tsps. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 med. onion, chopped

Must be mix very well together then formed into rolls about 4 inches long, 2 inches in diameter. Once completed cut waxed paper or parchment paper into 6-inch lengths and warp sausage well. Remember to tie both ends tightly with string. Next prick waxed paper with a fork (do not prick parchment) then place in kettle of simmering salted water. Cook slowly for about 45 minutes.

2. Ham a la cajsa warg (Swedish Ham)

7 to 9 lb. ham, slightly salted
2 tsps. whole cloves
2 tsps. marjoram
2 tsps. allspice
2 tsps. rosemary
6 bay leaves

The Ham must be placed in plenty of cold water for approximately 12 hours then roasted. Take care that the ham is not too salty.

Firstly, remove the rind then place the ham on a large piece of baking foil. Add crush allspice, cloves, rosemary, marjoram and bay leaves in a mortar. This mixture must be rubbed into ham on all sides then wrapped entirely in foil. Next, insert a meat thermometer through the foil so that the tip reaches the thickest and meatiest part of the ham then place the ham in baking pan and bake it in the oven at 350F. When the thermometer shows 170F the ham is ready. This dish is served hot or cold and usually with boiled potatoes, mustard, red cabbage or other vegetables.

3. Cabbage Pudding (Casserole)

1 to 2 lb. head white cabbage
41/2 tbls. rice
Salt
11 oz. ground beef
Butter for frying
2/3 cup water
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup milk

Firstly, cut off the bottom part of the stem of a head of white cabbage the chop the cabbage into pieces. Then brown them in butter in a frying pan. In another pan boil rice in 2/3 cup water and 1/2 tsp. salt for approximately 20 minutes. While the rice cools mix ground beef with 1 1/2 tsps. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Then add the rice and 1 cup milk. Place the cabbage and meat in alternate layers in a buttered oven-proof dish. Remember to keep the top and bottom layers cabbage only. Next bake in an oven at 350F. for 3/4 to 1 hour and serve with boiled potatoes.

Enjoy!

Romania conjures up eerie and mysterious images. The wonder of this country is its undiscovered lands dating back to the former Eastern Bloc.

As autumn getaways go, Romania with its dark history and modern day anomalies provides a wonderland like experience. September and October are noted for being two of the best months of the year to plan a journey to the country that is also renowned for being the homeland of Dracula himself.

The Weather in Romania

Winters are basically beyond cruelty. So, making an autumn trip is definitely advisable unless of course you have an enthusiasm for the meanest winters in Easter Europe. While summers tend to be somewhat hot the autumn, as is the case throughout the world, is the most comfortable and relaxing of the seasons.

Things to Do in Romania

Bird watching in the Danube Delta is best experienced in spring and fall. Hiking and nature walks are Romanian great past times and just the thing for a day out. Romania has a packed schedule of folklore festivals featuring various theatrical themes. One of the popular fall festivals to attend is the International Chamber Music Festival concerts in Bran and Brasov , about 166 km from Bucharest. Another festival held is The Sambra Oilor, which is a major pastoral festival to mark the sheep herds coming down from the mountains. This festival is also held in and around Bran.

What you can Expect to See in Romania

The oldie world feel of Romania is very apparent in the daily life of the Romanian people. You can expect to see horse drawn carriages long side modern day fast cars to and from country lanes. Once considered the weird and sublime modern Romania comfortably blends into the society mold of any other NATO and European Union nation. Medieval homes and farmhouse stand with mystique modesty reminding locals and visitor of the splendid country’s origins.

Most Popular Day Excursions from Bucharest

Bran castle is a fairytale castle that is often mistaken for that of the medieval prince Vlad Tepes turn bloodthirsty vampire. With its turrets and whitewashed walls, Saxons built the castle in 1382 to defend the Bran pass against Turks. There is a fountain in the courtyard that conceals a labyrinth of secret underground passages, which has to be seen to be believed. There is an entry fee, which includes admission into two on-site museums known as the ethnographic museum and Vama Bran Museum.

Getting Around Romania

The simplest way to get around Romania is the bus. Not only is it utterly cheap it makes for a magnificent way to take in the sights and town of Romania. I must warn that the down side to using the bus is that it is also utterly slow. Hours and hours can be spent just taking the bus between sights alone. The railway has been the fast and efficient way to get around Romania. There are frequent trains provided from/to Bucharest and every major city in Romania. With a choice of five different trains to choose from you only need to get yourself down to the nearest train station to commence.

One of the most magically seasons of the year is autumn. The leaves change creating the backdrop for the most stunning foliage that can only mean fall has arrived.

Autumn tends to be the winding down from the heat and thrills of summer. Fall lends its hand to a time of reflection, appreciation of nature and the beautiful that is autumn. Fall is symbolizes harvest and foliage. This list will help you make the very most of both.

Pick Apples From a Local Orchard

Visit a local orchard for the quintessentially apple picking experience. The benefit of orchards is that you can hand pick your apples and take them home with you. This then opens the door to many a possibilities. Especially, for those who are handy in the way of baking and the kitchen in general but I will get to that later in this list.

Making Fresh Apple Cider

Now that you have gathered the hand picked fresh apples what better way to enjoy the occasion then with freshly homemade cider. The great thing about freshly made cider is that it can be enjoyed both warm and chilled depending on your personal preference. Either way it is the perfect finish to a fun day out at your local orchard.

Pumpkin Picking

Picking pumpkins to celebrate the arrival of autumn really should be a national holiday. The most identifiable aspect of fall is the orange and user-friendly pumpkin. The pumpkin has a history of being a multifaceted addition to hearth and home around the world. The best part of pumpkin picking happens to be when you take the pumpkin home. Whether you use the pumpkin to decorate the perfect Halloween occasion or the perfect pumpkin pie receipt there is nothing like taking that cart drawn ride through a pumpkin patch in search of the pumpkin just right for you. For those who are determined to use your pumpkin in the culinary way the pumpkin makes for delicious pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, pumpkin, ice cream and pumpkin bread. The receipts for pumpkin are endless.

Camping in a Scenic Park Setting

Camping is a wonderful ways to both explore and enjoy the autumn foliage and turning of the season up close and personal. Most camp sights are in reach and affordable. You may have to bundle up at night as the evening tends too much cooler at this time of the year. Relaxing in front an open-air fire with a few marshmallows toasting is a peaceful way to welcome in the autumn season with style. It also makes for a romantic experience for those camping out with a certain special someone. You may be advised to book ahead if you are after a cabin setting experience just to be on the safe side.

Nature Walks

The wonderful thing about nature walks in the fall is that nature is truly at its most beautiful. The rustling of leaves everywhere is bound to stir up more than just the wind on your excursion. The changing of the leaves in every colour of the rainbow will be a grand vision to take in. Bringing a camera is almost a perquisite. You would want to recapture the beauty of your excursion over and over again as the very next day the leaves would have yet again changed on autumn’s way toward winter.

Raking up a Big Pile of Leaves then Jumping In Them!

As the autumn season progresses the inevitable is the fallen leaves remain fallen everywhere. We have all at some time or another had the duty of racking up the leaves. There is no reason why this cannot be another fun activity to bring out the kid in all of us. While the process of racking does entail bagging the piles and piles of gathered leaves, just before bagging them have fun with them. Throw leaves at a friend like a snowball fight is a terrific way to enjoy autumn with childlike excitement. But, most of all do not forget to breath in the fall air. Clean and fresh while you take in the enjoyment of your autumn season in 2008.

The reality is that this hauntingly beautiful Russian city is so very real and breathtaking that you will almost never want to leave. Well, maybe in winter you may want to eventually, as the Russian winters are simply not the kindest winter experiences in the world.

This imperial capital was built less than three centuries ago. First built by Peter the Great who took to this Russian region with a grand vision of building city on the Gulf of Finland like no other. The history of St. Petersburg is simply alluring. It intrigues with its enormous architectural buildings and expansive squares. Also, known as the city of the Tsars, St. Petersburg has a pulse of its own. It is considered to be the cultural heart of all of Russia. This timeless city continues to rank very highly notable as one the fantastical cities of Europe.

Nevskiy Prospekt

The main avenue of St. Petersburg is called Nevskiy Prospekt. This is the centre of all business, trade and cultural activities. It is here that you will find the greatest in both nightlife and shopping. These are two very important aspects to explore when taking in the many stunning sights of St. Petersburg. It is on this very avenue that you will find the ornately stunning Kazan Cathedral. For one of the city’s largest department store look no further than this avenue for the Gostiny Dvor. Nevskiy Prospect also features a beautiful monument to Catherine the Great, a prominent Russian historical figure.

Saint Petersburg churches and cathedrals

Within St. Petersburg, discover the world’s most glorious cathedrals and churches. By the turning of the 20th century there were as many as 16 churches in the monastery complex of 5 are survived today: Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Church of the Annunciation, St.Lazarus’ Church, St.Nicholas’ Church and the Church of the Holy Mother of God “the Joy of all Mourners” which is over the monastery gates. It is here where the Russian cultural icons Dostoyevsky and Tchaikovsky are buried.

Soviet Memorials & Memorabilia

For mega history buffs, the Soviet Memorials & Memorabilia will not disappoint. For 74 years in existence the Soviet Union still has a mark or two left behind as well as its imprint on the face of the city’s history. The Yusupov Palace, build by Vallin de la Mothe in the Early Russian Classical style, is one of the rarest standing structures acting as part architectural monument and part temple of art. It symbolized the great Russian wealth and spirit of the respected Yusupov family. It is a palace that has whethered the test of time. Even today it holds the glory of its hay days and in so many ways is more stunning now than ever before.

We all experience a tiny sense of loss when the end of summer approaches us. The children are due back at school. And, for some moms anyway that is always a great thing.

In general, for the rest of us it does mean back to the seriousness of autumn. So, here are five ends of summer blues suggestions to chase those summer blues endings away.

1. Throw an end of summer party

Why not throw a big end of summer party? The festivities will definitely lighten up any sober atmosphere. The best weekend to does so is of course over the finally weekend of summer. Ultimately, any weekend that fits into your autumn schedule will do. Invite all your friends, family member and even work colleagues. The more the merrier.

2. Schedule a weekend gateway

Next schedule a weekend getaway with that someone special. For singletons the same applies, as singletons deserve a special getaway too. Taking a weekend break should be only about pampering you from head to toes. Massages and chief prepared meals are a must. Spa visits often for those who can is most ideal. To find a local spa or nearest day spa to you just Google it. There is a spa for everyone and every budget.

3. Catch up with old friends

Catching up with old friends for lunch especially the ones who did not make your party followed by a day of shopping for the ladies is stage three of getting over summer’s end blues. However, a day out at the golf course the maybe something of a greater pleasure for the gentlemen. Day’s activity is a sure blues chaser when spent with someone who is fun and makes the day fly by full of laughter and joy.

4. Take advantage of end of summer sales

For the ladies especially, a day devised specifically for shopping has the capacity to chase away the blues. This time of year is perfect, as you will be met with enormous opportunities to take full advantage of the end of summer sales. So, why not pick up a few outfits that would just simply look stunning on you for next summer too just in case.

5. Enjoy the things you have put off for sometime

Devising an event that you have put off for sometime. Perhaps taking a night out at the cinema or theatre. Remember the more thrilling the event better. The fact of the matter is we do not take the time to fit into our hectic schedule all the things that we wish we had the time to do. Here is your chance. Set the time aside and make it happen.

Beat the end of summer blues as it will most likely be back again this time next year. For now do not let those nasty blues get the better of you? Enjoy your major cheering yourself up activities and do not forget to have FUN!

Portuguese cuisine is a uniqueness of its own. The cuisine of Portugal is heaped in tradition and old school culinary ingredients.

Located on the coast means it is in a prime location for fishing. Therefore, it is not surprising that the main by product of the Portuguese diet is in fact fish. The history of Portuguese cuisine has something of a gallant aspect for which they have much to be prove of. For it was the Portuguese who introduced to the world and Europe in particular the fine culinary ingredients also known as spices?

Initially only found in the Far East, spices such as coriander, pepper, ginger, curry, saffron and paprika were used to enhance and enrich the traditional Portuguese meal. These very spices that we all use today in one way or another came from the shores of Portugal centuries ago. Ironically, long ago these very spices were used to barter for everything you could possibly imagine. Instead, today would require resorting the modern day currency equivalency to make the same general purchases.

Early Portugal was known for its wealth of both olives and wine causing them to be the envy of even the Romans. Traveling to lands further a field meant that the adventure spirited Portuguese would be the first Europeans to take to countries like China, Japan and even Ethiopia. Bringing back even more varieties of then unknown food products such rice, peanuts, pineapples, peppers, potatoes and coffee that today make up their very distinctive Portuguese cuisine foundation.

Caldo Verde

One of the most popular Portuguese dishes is the “caldo verde“, emerald green from the province of Minho. In Portuguese cuisine it is said to be a must. Consisting of green cabbage shredded cooked in a light stock of potatoes and olive oil along with a few slices of Portuguese pork sausage (”chouriço“). It is described as simply delicious!

Cozido

Another popular dish to be enjoyed is the “cozido.” This is known as a national dish and is often compared to that of the very important Irish “beef and cabbage.” Do not forget the try the oh so tasty “caldeirada” which consists of the nations best fish from is coastal shores.

Bacalhau

But, nothing really can ever compare to the fantastic fish dishes of Portugal. In one of the world greatest fishing producing countries is also where you will find some of the world greatest fish dishes around. As fish is of course the staple product of the Portuguese diet do not pass on the gastronomical experience that is the “bacalhau“, dried codfish as this dish is served up in traditional Portuguese homes at least several times a week because it is just the good.

Other great fish dishes to try are the sole (”Iinguado“), the red mullet (”salmonete“), the swordfish (”peixe espada“) and the conger eel (”eiroz“).

Picnics make for a wonderful way to dine on the go and take in the fresh air on a beautiful summer’s day. London Parks are glorious for doing just that.

Heaped with character, the quaint parks of London are the place to toil away a long hot afternoon. You do not even have to be a nature lover to enjoy an afternoon out in the park. The ideal London parks to hold your picnic in are Hyde Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a very popular park for so many reasons. This park makes picnicking even easier with its own on site food facilities. With the three full-service cafés and three other food carts can be found throughout the park you can get great already prepared food to take away for your picnic in the park. This especially comes in handy if you forget the mustard at home. Also, very convenient for those who have run out of the picnic afternoon bottle of wine? Alcohol is on the menu from the Dell service along the east bank of The Serpentine. Taking a few sandwiches from the Hyde Park Tennis Centre Café is very useful after a few exchanges of the tennis ball on the public facilities tennis courts.

For those who have arrived at Hyde Park with your packed lunch for a lovely day’s picnic in the park you can choose just about anywhere in the park’s beautiful garden or waterfront view areas to set up for lunch. If picnicking out with children you may want to try setting up your afternoon of picnicking near the park’s playground. The playground will be a wonderful way for the children to conclude a day of picnicking in the park. This is especially so if you need to occupy children when the adults are content to linger on in conversation well after the meal is down.

Kensington Gardens is set alongside Hyde Park. Not too many visitors actually can tell where one park begins or the other actually ends. So your guess is as good as the guy next to you. The park features the “Royal Garden” paths and can be easily accessible from any of the nearby top tourist sites. There is even a major tourist spot in the heart of this garden for you to behold while picnicking. The tourist spot is the Kensington Palace, former home of Diana, Princess of Wales. It is one of the oldest Palaces in London. Kensington Gardens span as many as 275 acres. There are wonderful old trees which are perfect to take to for a shaded picnic afternoons. Choosing to picnic along the tree-lined Broad Walk will give you the opportunity to do some real people watching while you dine alfresco. Another tourist site to make the perfect spot for you day of picnicking is the classical-style Queen’s Temple located at the south end of this avenue. For waterfront picnic views choose the Round Pond. You can not miss it as it pretty much takes up the entire distance of the park’s central location. For your convenience and only during the month of April through September you may rent deck chairs to use for your picnic. They are rented for the affordable price of £1 which would give you 45 minutes use. Otherwise don’t forget to pack your blanket.

Here are four romantic things to do when you make Copenhagen, Denmark your romantic getaway destination.

1. Romantic Castle Excursion

Top on the list of romantic activities for you and your special someone is the must see and must do romantic castle excursion. Copenhagen has some of the world’s most divine historical castles. One especially special romantic castle visit is the Amalienborg Palace & Amaliehaven. This castle is especially romantic as it is also the winter residence of the Danish royal family. So if it is good enough for them then it has to be good enough to make this oh so romantic list.

Castle’s the world are magical places unto themselves. The fairytale history behind most castles often entail the legendary story of the prince who finds his princess creating even more heaving romanticism and notion for this romantic getaway spot. Taking long romantic walks through the castle hallways, gardens and corridors will warm even the most harden romantic free heart. Other romantic castles of Copenhagen include the Rosenborg Castle & The King’s Garden, Frederiksborg Castle & Baroque Garden and Kronborg Castle.

2. Cupid at Thorvaldsen Museum

Cupid at Thorvaldsen Museum is almost a dead give away with Cupid in the name drop for this romantic excursion out. This 1848 museum features the works of honored Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. The Cupid and Psyche sculpture will be actually what the romantic doctor ordered for your romantic Copenhagen getaway. Who can resist the glance of Cupid himself, God of erotic love and beauty with his trademark sending his arrows through people’s hearts to invoke love and romance?

3. A night at Copenhagen Opera House

A night at The Opera in Copenhagen is a quintessential romantic experience you would not want to miss even if you are not a lover of opera itself. Any opera is an experience, but a Danish opera well that is an experience in a league of its own. The opera drawn by Danish architect Henning Larsen, is an experience you will never forget. Dining out before the opera is almost a prerequisite as the local cuisine is just superb especially when you choose a restaurant with panorama view of Copenhagen. Another great aspect of our opera experience is just as darkness falls catching a glimpse of the city lights from the Opera’s balcony on the 4th floor. For this excursion be sure to get your opera tickets in advance just to ensure you do not miss out.

4. The Baroque Park at Gammel Holtegaard

The Baroque Park at Gammel Holtegaard is located in Holte just north of Copenhagen. Here you will find exhibitions of Danish and international art, ancient and modern, paintings, sculptures and photographs. The lovebirds in you will most delight in the romantic setting of the Baroque Park. In 1755, Laurids de Thurah established the park with fruit tree avenues, fountains and arcades. Summer is one of the best times to attend and experience to the fullest your romantic excursion as on every Sunday afternoon there are open-air concerts featuring jazz and classical music. Love could truly be in the air after experiencing this romantic getaway in Copenhagen things to do list.
