Your Guide to Scotland’s 6 Nations Rugby Campaign

Wednesday, February 26th, 2014

Scotland finished in third place in 2013, and a new-found optimism surrounds the Scottish camp this time around, even though performances ’til now are not amazing. How will the 6 Nations end this year?

Thrashed by England 20-0 in the second round, all of the squad’s big players will need to be present if we want to avoid the Wooden Spoon. Unfortunately, the last time Scotland won a championship was in 1999 when they lifted the last 5 Nations Championship, so the presence of big stars such as Greig Laidlaw, Greig Tonks and team Captain Kelly Brown is vital to the team’s success.

The 6 Nations Championship – Dates and Venues
The 2014 6 Nations Championship kicked off on 1st February 2014 with the match between Wales and Italy at the Millennium Stadium. The final game will be instead on Saturday 15th March. Games are played in some of Europe’s most wonderful stadiums, including England’s iconic Twickenham Stadium, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield, the Stade de France in Paris, Dublin’s Aviva Stadium and the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Scotland’s upcoming matches
We have already played 3 matches and unfortunately have lost two of them. However, we won against Italy on Feb 22nd thanks to a last-second place kick. Scotland have now a week off before an eagerly anticipated clash with France at Murrayfield on Saturday 8th March, before the final game against Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 15th March.
