The hotel is ideally located for a comfortable stay near the main shopping streets and museums. It is a haven of peace one is eager to return to after a hectic day in the city. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel bar is a stylish and cosy bar. We did not take breakfast at the hotel, though, as the price is quite high and we're not that hungry in the mornings. We prefer to eat out in the city and discovered a very nice bar just round the corner in the PC Hooftstraat - Amsterdam's high fashion street - where we had some croissants and a delicious latte! It was called CaffePC and it's worth a stop. Overall a great stay in a wonderful hotel at a top location!

So far the best hotel I've ever stayed in Europe in that category in years (and I do travel a lot). The service is excellent, the location is fantastic, closed to the museums, the entertainemt area, and at the same time quited at night. The breakfast is pricy but worth it. I already wanna come back!

A little far to walk to central and red light district, but tram stop and main museums very close. Nice area and very quiet. No free wifi for Iphone. Room was nice but a bit small for $100 euro

V good location for museums and close to transport links (canal bus and trams). It was worth being slightly out of the centre (just an extra 5-10 minute walk) to have this more tranquil location. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly to myself and teenage son.

La chambre louée par internet était très petite mais avec tout le confort. Avec 20 euros de plus par nuit nous avons pu louer une chambre très spacieuse. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux mais fort chers. L'accueil agréable et sympathique.

Overall good, but we were told on arrival we had been upgraded to a superior room (no 510).I don't think it was a superior room - it was very small for 2 people. Service in bar/snack room was very slow.

A very clean, friendly hotel with an excellent location. I just wish the rooms had been larger because it was difficult even for two people to manuever in the space.

By car From The Hague, Schiphol Airport or Utrecht: on arriving at the outskirts of Amsterdam, you will find yourself on the ring road A-10. Take exit S108 towards Centrum (city centre). After passing the Olympic Stadium, turn left at the traffic lights. At the roundabout, turn right, onto Lairessestraat and at the end of this street you will find the Concertgebouw (Royal concert hall) on your left. Turn left at the traffic lights onto Van Baerlestraat and, after the first crossroads, take the first to the right. After 200 meters you will find the hotel on your left-hand side. By trainTake tram 5 or 2, stop Hobbemastraat/Rijksmuseum. A 5-minute walk; cross the road and walk into de Jan Luykenstraat. You will find the hotel on the right side of the street at number 58. You can also take a taxi for about €15,00. By airplane Take the KLM shuttle bus, stop Bilderberg Hotel Jan Luyken. Tickets costs €10,50. You can also take a taxi for about €25,00.
