Hotel Best Western Springfield Mall - Springfield, Washington

Since we had lived in the area we knew what we were getting when we booked this stay. We just needed a clean room for one night. The issue was smoking. We were given the "lecture" regarding smoking in the room, the cost for violating that rule and, of course, signing the the non-smoking policy. We went to the room and immediately noticed the smell of tobacco smoke. I reported it immediately since I didn't want to pay the fine. We were offered a new room but since my husband is a smoker and we were in a hurry we declined and left for our appointment. on our return to the room I sat on the bed and noticed how intense the smell was. I sniffed the decorative thing over the foot of the bed and was repulsed. The smell was so intense we took both of them off and closed them up in the bathroom. We had to turn on the heat which had been unplugged and the dust exploded out of the unit. I woke in the middle of the night with stopped up sinuses. The staff was very nice and apologetic for the problems we had had and noted the room number for proper cleaning.
