Hotel Best Western Fairfax - Fairfax, Washington

The room was very "dated" and the bathroom was far below a 3 star quality that I would expect to find. There was a "smoker's pole" located outside my room (approximately 6 feet from my door) and the smell was coming in through the door (due to a poor seal that allowed a breeze through it at all hours of the day/night). On the positive side, the front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is located close to the Metra which was great for our trip.

This was a great value for the money. THe hotel was clean and staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Great for a short stay, we stayed 4 days. Would defenitely recommend this hotel.

This is a very good place to stay for a Washington, D.C. trip with easy access to public transportation. We had a problem with our room air conditioner not cooling sufficiently, and the staff found us another room close by that was much better with no hassle.

we stayed 3 nights. one woman at the reception was very unfriendly.

Although our stay was very nice, we had a major problem with the internet service. When we booked we made sure that internet was available because 2 of us were taking an online college course with assignments due at midnight. Tried during the day with no luck. I reported the problem, was told it would be resolved. Had a meeting in the evening. By the time I got back to the hotel and discovered it still wasn't working, tried the front desk computer, had to run out, buy a flash drive, got the reports sent to the professor at 11:47. 13 minutes to spare to avoid F's. Not good.

Not all rooms are the same.I have been in several. A different one every week this month. Some rooms are better than others. Overall the hotel was very nice. I will return ...Next week...

I was heading from NY to NC and stopped in Fairfax on the way down to visit DC, a friend, and a cousin - and to do some bicycling. This is a basic hotel - nothing spectacular, but it was inexpensive and met my needs perfectly. I had a room on the first floor and was able to park by my door. The room was big enough for my bicycle and me, the wireless was great, and the CUE bus stop (which takes you to the Vienna Metro station) is right across the street. I had originally booked for four days but at the very last minute had to change this. I called the hotel directly and they made the change without a problem. I decided to stay there again on my way back to NY. Again, I found everything to be just fine for my needs.

Was there Memorial weekend. The pool was supose to be open but it was not. I think the rate should have been discounted because of this but it was not.

I did not stay in this hotel as long as I originally planned because I was extremely bothered by the musty smell of the air-conditioner/heating unit. The a-c filter was so dirty that it continued to circulate mold and/or mildew into the air. I stayed sick during the entire time I was in this hotel. I originally chose this hotel because the price was reasonable, the location close to my business location, and the rooms were quiet. But I will not return to this hotel because of the health hazard.

My wife and I were in Fairfax to visit friends and family and were thrilled to find this hotel at such a good price. Thank you so much for such a bargain in this area and in these days and times!
