I was very pleased with the room. It is very quiet and can't hear anything outside the room. The area may not be the safess at night but doing the day we walked all over and no problems at all. The pool closed at 9:00 and after being out and about all day you want to come back and swim. I think closing the pool at 9:00 on a weekend even is very early. Once you learn the public transportation around the motel you can go any place. The staff was not very helpful to us to help us find our way. We walked to the capitol for the first 3 days and then found out a metro station 2 blocks away. the metro will take you any place you want to go. they do say they have a shuttle but only drops off not picked up and only goes til 10:00 certain places and same thing at night certain times and certain places. does not offer any other way of getting back home from staff or from shuttle. The computer that they offer never seemed to work when needed since the kids were able to play on any time and take as long as wanted. The printer never did work and couldn't print out my tickets I got on the net so the front desk had to sine they told me it worked. the picture on the net need updated .....looks like the motel but older when see it. Never ate in their since it was so costly. Breakfast was at McDonald right across the street and 7/11 right up a block for any snacks if did't feel like using vending down stairs. OVER all the motel worked out great for the location and price. It has a pool and is clean what more can you ask for with out spending 300.00 a night.

Two couples stayed two nights and spent July 4th in DC. This was our first time at a hotel in Washington DC. Positive: 1: We could walk to the Wash.Mall where there was a lot of "action" on July 4th, and where a lot of museums and attractions are located. 2:Great rooms. 3:The pool area was nice, but our stay was too short to use it. 4:Shuttle buses if needed (read the information on the desk in the room, we were not told this) 5: A restaurant with a nice breakfast buffet and also open for dinner and lunch. Negative: 1: One day there were different kinds of meat for breakfast, another day only pork was served at the buffet. The answer was negative when we asked for turkey or other kinds of meat. Quite many people don't eat pork, from different reasons, therefore there should be alternatives.

Direct view on the capitol (from the hotel room). Giant room with king size bed. Desk, couch, chair, free wireless internet - you could use it as a small business meeting room. Bath with bathtub. Hotel staff was able to handle unusual situation (I had no home adress as I was in the process of immigrating).

When we arrived at Best Western it appeared that the hotel had not received the reservation. Because i had a written confirmation with me we got a room. Hotel staff placed an extra bed (good quality, no complaints) I never book a hotelroom again with Venere !

Very nice hotel, very nice staff and great shuttle service to the main tourist places for free ( and you even use the shuttle to come back!). Rooms are huge, nice diner for breakfast and even a small shop for last minute souvenirs!. The only negative comment could be the area, not very beautiful one, but taxis from downtown just for 10-15 bucks.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Capitol Skyline Hotel. Our only problem was booking the hotel with Venere.com. When we called the day before our check-in to notify them we would be arriving late, the hotel had no record of our booking. They also never heard of Venere.com. I explained we booked online and had given them our charge number to hold the room. They were nice enough to match the price Venere had given us, and thankfully had a room available for the dates we needed. They really saved us and will continue to be our hotel when we stay in the area again!! Sorry I can't say the same for Venere.com.
