I rang to ask to have a good quiet room before we went. On arrival,we were given rm 302 which is very small and the bed has only half of the headboard. We complained and they gave us rm 411 which is much bigger and quieter. We are very pleased with the room but we did not understand why they gave us a much smaller room (a bit nosier because it is one floor lower) before. Apart from that, we are very happy with the hotel. The guests seem to be polite people and we stayed for 4 nights. It was a nice surprise that the breakfast room is very nice and decorated as carriage of Orient Express.

The hotel's located very close to San Marco (1 min walk) and few min walk to Rialto bridge. Our room (triple) was spacious and clean, rather big wardrobe, bathroom. Breakfast is really good (omelette, sausage, cheeses, tomato, fruits ans so on0 . Helpfull staff, special thanks to Dario. Venice is perfect. I'd choose this hotel again.

In Venice for A. Bocelli concert. With my mother aged 82. Both of us very pleased with every aspect of hotel. Wonderful location, easy to find on arrival, spotless, very good breakfast, very helpful staff. Needed to visit the doctor and a member of staff actually accompanied us to the surgery !! No hesitation in recommending it to everybody. Well done to Stefano and all the staff. I look forward to my next visit.

4th and last floor overlooking the roofs of Venice. The room(n° 412)was large with one bed made of 2mastresses side by side(as it had been asked) with 3 windows. The only negative thing was that the ceiling was a little too low . I congratulated the boss for the kindness the readiness and the efficiency of the employees. Finally, the breakfast was superb.

The hotel is quite close to St. Mark's Square though maybe hard to find and not close to a canal where a water taxi is available--IF transporting luggage is a problem. But the service and the breakfast that came with the room were both pretty good.

Very close to St Mark's square and vaporetti. Nice, clean and quiet hotel . Staff at reception very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Plentitiful. Our only problem was that the lift was not working for 2 days. But problem was solved as soon as possible. I would recommend this hotel to all. Surely we would stay there again.

Good location near San Marco (2 min. walk), yet quiet at night. Convenient to walk Venise early in the morning before the crowd gets in town. Complimentary tour to Murano offered by hotel. Copious american breakfast (breakfast room open early in the morning, convenient for us because we had to catch a train at Ferrovia Santa Lucia).

We stayed a few days in February for the carnaval. We had a single and a double room at the 4th floor, which were spacious (the double room had even a bath tub) with amaizing views over the Venice roofs. Walking distance to all the interesting spots. Very friendly staff. Great continental breakfast - plenty and of very good quality. Resonable room bar prices. My suggestions for improvements would be: a bigger breakfast area, better ventilation in the bathrooms (the ceiling ventilator did not seem to work in any of our rooms) and a more detailed map of location. highly recomended.

This lovely hotel in a very convenient spot. It was very close to St Marks and all the popular areas of Venice. Within easy walking district of Rialto bridge. Loads of good restaurants around.Only a short walk from vaparetto stops. Directions given from vaparetto stop to hotel accurate and very easy to follow(even when arriving after dark!) The rooms were spotless and bedlinen and towels changed daily. Hot and cold buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and was replenished regularly. Staff very friendly and helpful. would definitely stay in this hotel again.

If you are in a hurry, don't leave the breakfast for the last minutes. The breakfast room is quite small for this hotel, so you probably have to wait 10-15 minutes to get in. Anyway our stay was excellent, we would recommend this hotel cordially to You ALL.

The welcoming was great, the breakfast was adequate. The hotel is very close to San Marco square and has lots of restaurants around it. The only minus point is that it is close to a nightclub, so you can hear voices outside late at night but as the windows are double glazed, it is not a big issue. We had a triple room and the third bed was an unfolded sofa, there was not much space left in the room, we did not mind so much as we spent most of our time outside and only got in to sleep. Air conditioning a great help.

Excellent little hotel just off of San Marco Square, in the heart of the city. We stayed at the Montecarlo for 5 days we booked a triple and a double. The rooms we fantastic the decor was venetian and very nice Murano glass lighting to add a special touch. We paid 99,00 euros for the double and 124,00 euros for the triple. Great prices for Venice and for San Marco Square location. The rooms were spacious for european standards. The lift was very small, but then again the building is 500 years old, but beautiful. We had our rooms in the fron of the hotel overlooking the main street the hotel is on very charming. The hotel only offers room service for breakfast, we did not use it. They offer a wonderfull breakfast each morning with fresh to order cappuccino, espresso etc..they have eggs, meat links, cakes, cereal, dairy products, juice etc.. I just the fruit that was offered was fresh instead of the can variety. This hotel is a fantastic value for the money. Hotel is also close to all the major sights. Hotel is very clean and staff is excellent. I would recomend this hotel to anyone and would stay her again if I were to return to Venice. There is a good cafe close to hotel with no cover charge the cafe is Pizzeria Marciana, Calle Larga S. Marco 367 B. ---. the food is good priced the food is vsery good and the staff is friendly and helpfull. The cafe is just across the way from the MCDONALDS, it has yellow tablecloths seen from the window and a bunch of sunflowers in a vase near the cash register., the staff has white coats with black bow ties. The location is perfect, the relation between price and quality is really very good, it doesn't look like a 3* hotel (no safety box in the room). People are nice, all went well, nothing very positive to say but nothing negative either... It is an hotel that you will not remember because it is average, but for the price, the kindness of the people and specialy it's location, you will recommend the hotel to your friends. The only negative thing was that the room was too hot, since it was very cold outside, but I opened the balcony door and then it was ok...

The Hotel rooms were lovely and clean, centrally heated and very comfortable, we would certainly stay here again

wonderful location and nice people in the hotel. The neighbourhood of San Marco is a great advantage and the rooms are with the romantic furniture a nice expierence for living Italian style. The breakfast is excellent, the coffee more Austrian standard than Italian and the staff is friendly and very supporting. Only the bedlamp is a little bid dim for nice reading, but who visits Venice for reading?

The staff was excellent, particularly Dario, who made our stay a real treat. View out the window from our room consisted of the backs and sides of other nearby buildings. Finding the hotel was a challenge. From St. Mark's Square you need to go through the base of the "Bell Tower" (not the Campanile)before you turn right at the first street, then left at the second street. The entrance to that street is literally only five feet wide.

This was my first time in Venice. what attracted me to BEST-Western Monte Carlo was the price and their location close to San Marcus Square. Although the photo on the add suggests a spacious entreé and wide clear room I have found it in a typically narrow alleyway of Venice. There were absolutely now problems with the online booking and I got a pleasent room equiped with all nessecities as described. The bathroom was absolutely clean and in proper conditon. The personnel was very friendly and there is no reason to complaint. In the morning due to limited space for breakfeast guests, people had to wait for a free place. This apperantly is caused by the age of the house and rooms are not bigger. the breakfeast itself also follows these conditions. So the buffett is sufficient but not exciting. You can choose between English and Continental style. The personnel was very busy and motivated to please the guests. Every issue needing to be discussed from guiests view was responded open minded and with all the expected serosity. They all were polite and humorous as well. Room price is not that low, although for such a city acceptable. Its centralized location makes Best Western Monte Carlo to a very convinient basis for exploring Venice. I enjoyed may stay and would go there again for the next Venecian occaission.

My wife and I stayed two nights as part of a 16 day trip to Italy from Florida. We did all the arrangements for the trip on our own. In the Venice environment, the hotel was good value. The location is excellent. The hotel provided breakfast was excellent. The room was very attractive and probably large for the Venice environment in this price range. The staff was very professional and helpful. The desk staff's english was excellent and the rest of the staff was easy to communicate with. A large percentage of the guests that we talked to were from the states. If we return to Venice, would we stay here again? You bet!

We traveled with two small children and had an excellent experience at the Montecarlo. The staff were helpful and patient, and took care to meet our needs, including providing a crib in the room. We took our breakfasts in the room instead of in the common breakfast room (for an extra 5E charge per day) and found this worked well for us and our family. The hotel is so close to Piazza San Marco - only a minute's walk away, and fantastic in terms of travel with children. Our toddler loved chasing pigeons in San Marco and jumping in puddles, and we were only a stone's throw away from a clean, dry change of clothes! The hotel is highly recommended for families, and we'll be back.

This hotel is in a fabulous location. Staff are competent and welcoming. Our room was tiny but clean, but the biggest problem was that the curtain did not cover the window completely, forcing us to wake 3 hours earlier than we had planned! A great place to stay in Venice. Literaly 1 minute from St Marks square - so close you can hear the bells from the church!! Which was the only negative thing about the hotel - bells ringing in the middle of the night! Excellent breakfast and service. Once we found the place (you really need a very detailed map to get around Venice) we were very pleased with the rooms and, especially, the service. The staff was excellent. Their English was great and their advice and help in setting up taxis, etc. was even better. The rooms were nice and elegant with luxurious touches (slippers and robes!). Standard size (for Italy) with a larger than normal bathroom, including a full size tub. Rooms were quiet once you closed the windows.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. Great location.. 2 blocks from Piazza San Marco. The breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room and was excellent. The employee who was serving, although very busy with a packed room went out of her way to bring our son(16) hot cocoa when she saw he didn't care for coffee or tea. Nice touch!!! Our room was nice and comfortable for three persons, decorated in antique venetian style. The air conditioning worked well(we were there during a heat wave in August 2003). The bathroom had been remodeled and was wonderful, spacious and very clean. We wouldn't doubt staying at this hotel again. Thank you VENERE! Our experience with the 3 reservations through your website was superb!!!

Very excellent Hotel directly behind Piazza St. Marco. Very central. For italian circumstances very clean and modern; also in bath, public floors etc. Good available on phone (also on very late night times). Special events on carneval (free boat trip to Murano includes visit of an glass manufacture for hotel guests). Late time check out and luggage left no problem. Very voluminous breakfast in room rate included (sweets, drinks, coffee, tea, sausages, egg, ham, corn flakes...)! I received some maps and informations about Venice, carnival, points of interests like art galleries,... Quite expensive if you like to drink some thing on the room (e.g. a bottle of wine). BUT ELSE: EVERY TIME AGAIN!!! REALLY RECOMMENDABLE!

Staff very helpful, gave good advice on getting to hotel from airport late at night due to delayed flight. Reception staff spoke/understood english very well, but daily offers of free boat trip to Murano got a bit tedious! Waitresses and housekeeping staff were always pleasant and smiling. Room and bathroom always spotless. Only complaint would be no facility for ironing, and sockets in room would not take adaptor (in the end we used shaver socket in bathroom!). Overall, a very pleasant stay and good value if you avoid high season rates, which we didn't. Excellent location for everything and breakfast quite good too.

Disapointed with size of room and having only access to the double bed from one side. Bathroom facilities excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Flood siren at 6.30am was a suprise!

Great location and a great price for a stay in Venice. The staff was good and provided detailed maps to help us find our way through the maze of Venice. The hotel is located only 2 blocks from San Marco square, but far enough away to avoid minor flooding experienced in the square. Breakfast was good, but you have to wait to be seated which is the last thing you want to hear in the morning, the hotel really should get a few more tables.

Had a wonderful stay at the Montecarlo and would recommend this hotel for its proximity to St Marks, its level of service and its general contribution to a great holiday.

My family and I visited the Montecarlo for 4 nights this summer and were completely satisfied with this hotel. The location is perfect and was easy to find for our teenagers who went out exploring. The staff was very professional and friendly. We would definitely return in the future.

We had a great stay at MonteCarlo. Stayed there in June end 2003 for 5 nights and paid 150 euro for a double room through venere. The good things I remember about the hotel are : Central location, great buffet breakfast, good size quiet and clean room with a spacious bathroom with a bathtub, friendly and professional staff. Execellent central location of the hotel was very convenient as we were able to visit San Marco Piazza often especially late nights which seemed magical after the crowds have gone ; also because of the good location we could get back in the afternoons for a siesta and to escape sweltering heat and humidity before returning back to sightseeing in the evenings. Great Buffet breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, sausages, plus other usual stuff (selection of cereal, juices, breads etc) Room was very quiet although located in a crowded lane ; when we checked in we asked to see 2 rooms and we selected the bigger one with the bathtub. The only negatives I can think of is the waiting for the space in the breakfast room, no view but these were inconsequent compared to the great room and service we received.

Opening the window onto a castle is definitely worth paying a bit more! The location was terrific, being no more than half a mile from the Arena and the other central attractions. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, and we'll definitely stay there again.

It was a very pleasant stay at Monte Carlo and it was a surprise given it was one of the cheapest we could have found on the website. The staff was nice and very helpful (even more helpful after we tipped them :P lol~). It was very clean and tidy. (They even came to made our bed twice one day!) The bathroom was great. A strong hot shower is exactly what you need after a long day out. Breakfast was fantastic!!! Choice of orange/pineapple/grapefruit juices, cereal, croissant and toast, ham and cheese and guess what you get sausages and scrambled eggs as well! More than the continental breakfast you can get elsewhere! We had a great time! Given it is right next to Piazza San Marco, if you are too tired you can virtually go back, take a shower and get out again! Ohohoh one complaint, the third bed in our tripple room wasn't very comfy as it was a sofabed. And there isn't a kettle. But we still think it's excellent overall!

I couldn't recommend this place more. Not only were the rooms lovely (and very quiet despite the front of the hotel being on a noisy path - soundproof windows), but the staff were friendly and helpful - a very welcome change compared to the rest of our Italian trip! The location couldn't be better. We thought that as a chain hotel it might be very characterless and cold, but quite the contrary (and if you're going to Rome, look at the Hotel Traiano, also a Best Western). The only down point was having to queue for breakfast on the Saturday, but every other day was fine, and this might have been an exception. Stay there!

I complained right away about the size of the room but was told that all triple rooms were the same. It was cramped. I had asked for a quiet room and was put on the top floor away from the elevator. Unfortunately, I worried what would happen in case of fire since the stairs were near the elevator, and far from my room. The hallway always seemed to be cluttered with cleaning equipment. To find a usable outlet we had to unplug the clock. The bathroom was nice. This room was just too small for three people. I doubt I would stay here again. It was no bargain for the money.
