Hotel Central Best Western - Tours

After being assured that there was secure storage for our touring bicycles, we were not able to convince the woman at the front desk to let us put our bikes anywhere other than outside in the hotel parking lot, in the rain. She did not seem to understand the difference between personal bikes worth $2500 and rental bikes. She got upset with us when we moved a potted plant so that we could at least lock the bikes to a downspout on the side of the hotel. She did not seem to understand that "video surveillance" of a hotel parking lot in the downtown area of a big city is absolutely useless in protecting from bike theft.There was an inner courtyard patio area that was not being used because of the weather, but she absolutely refused to let us bring the bikes in. We have made 5 bike trips to France and 4 to Italy,staying in over 100 hotels in both countries, this was the first time we had such a problem. It definitely affected our enjoyment of Tours - the first time we have encountered such a negative attitude towards cyclists.

Room furniture outdated, needs to be refurbished. Air condition not functioning properly, Matress old, hanging through, a pain! Bed too small for two. Overall too expensive for the value delivered.

Well located hotel near old town but not as close to tourist office and railway station as map suggested. Room tastefully furnished and bathroom was four star. Breakfast room and guest lounge overlooked lovely gardens. Continental breakfast included one or two hot dishes. Only one fault - our room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable hotel in excellent location within easy walk of restaurants. Nice spacious room on the top floor and very quiet.

Twin double rooms the hotel met my expectations it is quiet,fairly well located,pleasantly decorated,good !

Excellent location. Price ok given location, but annoying that breakfast wasn't included, and this hadn't been made clear at time of booking. Staff varied enormously: one woman shrugged when I asked if I could have a kettle, cups and tea bags; another went out of his way to provide me with same. I booked it because I need an elevator; otherwise I would go for a non-chain.
