Best Western Hotel delle Piane - San Giovanni Rotondo

Superior 3 star hotel. free wifi connection in each room worked very well. breakfast adequate. they also serve an evening meal in the hotel restaurant, but probably better if they did not as no printed menu and waiting staff did not speak english very well. food ok but limited choice, probably tailored to coach parties. there are 2 supermarkets within 5 minutes walk from hotel . also a few restaurants along viale aldo morro on the way to the shrine . distance to the shrine not excessive for walking although last section up a very steep incline. there are always taxis at the shrine if you don't want to walk back to the hotel. would stay here again if visiting san giovanni rotondo.

I went to Manfredonia for a medical congress. The hotel has a good location if you have a car. Good breakfast. At the reception I asked for and obtained a map of the city with the information to go to the city centre and arrive to the big church of Saint Padre Pio da Pietrelcina.

This is the best place to stay! I can't wait to go back. It's everything I wanted & more. I was looking for a nice quiet place to stay while visiting my favorite person, Padre Pio. They had an excellent book in the lobby in english & I spent a day on the porch reading besides visiting the churches, shrine, hospital, etc. Staff is soooooo wonderful! Food is great. Very professional & nice & helpful in every way. Don't change a thing, please!

Good hotal but some distance from main area 20min walk although I understand transport available

This is a newer property but was a bit farther to Our Lady of Grace and St Pio's Church than indicated on the map. It was too far to walk although the hotel offered a free shuttle service. As far as pilgrim sites go, this was one of the better hotel experiences we had compared to others. The food was good as well as the wine (there was also a bar at reception). We stayed in a quad room for four - it was more spacious than we thought it would be and the rooms were quiet and clean.

The staff were very friendly. We had a bit of fun with translating but we got there in the end with good humour and a very pleasant manner. We found very few people in San Giovanni who could speak English but everyone very nice and we got by! Happy to recommend the Hotel Delle Piane. It is not luxurious, but it is very clean & friendly in a nice quiet location.

La stanza era pulita così come il bagno. Buona posizione per chi non vuole stare proprio in centro ma comunque vuole restare nei dintorni.

Good quality for the value. I will recommend this hotel to other clients.

Stayed one night,everyone very friendly and helpfull,manager/owner drove us up to the basilicia twice. Was told by one of staff of show on the life of Padre Pio,Actor Dei, which was on in marquee opposite hotel, we went to this and even though it was in italian we could follow the story and enjoyed it greatly.
