Hotel StieglBräu Best Western - Salzburg

Great location close by to the main station - Salzburg was beautiful during our station. Wouldn't it be nice to live there.

Everything was almost perfect except for the rooms which is really relatively "Dusty"!for somebody like me who's allergic to almost everything, i had to sneeze the whole night.... but otherwise it was a great stay.....

The hotel is located in a very convenient place. The railway station is just 8 or so miniuets walk away, and the city center is also within 15 minutes walk. I found it a bit inconvinient that one had to go to the reception for hot water(kettles provided upon request). The staff were polite and kind. There is a restaurant in the hotel, and the food and staff were nice.

The hotel comfort doesn't correspond to its values expected. The real quality doesn't correspond to the cost.

Location is perfect to reach the old town, rooms are quite small, clean, well equipped and quiet, employees are not very friendly, housekeeping was not able to clean the room between 8 am and 2pm next time we´ll try another location

Great location given its proximity to the train station and "Old Town" Room was spacious, and well appointed. Had a very pleasant stay.Would stay here again if we return to Salzburg.

Although the weather was very hot during our stay. We had an enjoyable holiday there. The hotel was better than we expected. There is almost nothing to mention on the negative side. We have been to Salzburg only once in the past, about 20 years ago. Our visit was purely touristic. I can recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel with the nice room, and we really enjory the stay in that hotel, especially the beautiful surroundings, and you can see the beautiful mountain views when you open your window. Staff is nice and helpful as well.

As a wheelchair user there were 1 step to hotel,staff helped. When i came back to hotel later another staff member told me about side entrance with no step, but overall good hotel room plenty big enough

This was a great hotel to stay at. It was pricey for what we were looking for, but not too bad overall. $240 for two nights for three people. It is a short walk from the rail station. It isn't in the best area of Salzburg, but it is only a 5 minute walk to the center of the city and the castle. The staff was very helpful, and we were able to store our luggage there even after checkout. A great hotel.

The best hotel you can book at Salzburg, Austria considering price x quality. A very good location near the Main Train Station but also near from Mirabell Gardens. A short walk through Mirabell Gardens conducts you to the Motzart House and crossing the several bridges also to the old town. A nice option to stay a few days in Salzburg. The breakfast is a bit expensive and is not included on the room rate.

Slightly hard mattracces.

Air conditioning did not work. We had to open windows and it was extremely noisy.

Had a pleasent stay at the hotel.The hotel is located around 400m from the train station ,very close to Mirabel gardens.The rooms were nice and well laid out.Nice pleasent colors.The room had tea/coffee making facility which was a pleasent surprise.The bathroom was nice.Now, the negatives..The TV in our room had no sound and inspite of repested reminders to the reception, no action was take.There was no Aircon and it got too hot at times.On pointing out, the staff refused to do anything as the central system was switched off.And the free Wifi didn't work.Breakfast was a steep 14 euros.We had breakfast at the nearby cafe and it was much better and cheaper.There are lots of eating options in this part of the town besides the old city, so food is not a problem.All in all, when you are visiting a place, I guess you are out for the better part of the day and this hotel did fit our budget.So, we are satisfied.

Staff were very efficient, esp. with regards to queries over the internet prior to visit. Also helpful with general questions about how to get around town. Room was really good value for money. Hotel is a bit far from the main train station but easily accessible by bus. Perhaps hotel needs to advertise this fact and provide directions as how to reach it by bus. Would return again.

The staff were extremely helpful with everything.

Although the internet is free but it is only one pc located in the lobby. In addition, we ordered ice and have to pay for it! In addition, the hotel is far away from the train station and you have to take either bus or taxi specially if you have lugages to reach the hotel. Good to mention that they have an excellent breakfast

Excellent hotel offering good value for money and service and close to the old city of Salzburg. The restaurant is pretty good as well. While its location is not ideal - on a busy road and close to the main railway line - the hotel seems very quiet and its many attractive features, not least its close proximity to the main railway station, more than compensate for its location.

Very friendly staff - the man at the front desk welcomed us to Salzburg and gave us all of the information that we asked for. We were able to book our tour at the desk and we got picked up in front of the hotel. Great breakfast - just a little crowded at times, but a very good variety of food.

Ottimo hotel. Posizione quasi centrale. A piedi in 10 minuti sei nel centro storico, oppure con bus (fermata a pochi metri). Camera molto ampia e comoda. Ricca prima colazione, annesso ristorante (non utilizzato) e parcheggio gratuito (utilizzato). Prezzo un po' elevato, ma d'altra parte si è in centro Salisburgo (e tutta la città rispetto ad altre zone d'Austria, ha prezzi alti).

Non hanno ricevuto la prenotazione effettuata tramite Venere ma sono stati gentilissimi, invece che una doppia abbiamo alloggiato in una twins che costa anche meno.Il costo è un pò eccessivo ma paghi la vicinanza al centro, si evitano così i costi per i trasporti.

Average hotel for the price paid

The hotel is overlooking the railway lines but the windows are soundproofed. The airconditioning was not working, however the hotel staff was not willing to acknowledge this (!) and repair it. Worst of all was that an important message was not forwarded and when complaints were raised the woman at the front desk was extremely rude. The restaurant is really the best feature of the hotel; the breakfast is very nice.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were very helpful, they even provided us with umbrellas because it was raining. The rooms were very nice and clean, the breakfast satisfactory and the location excellent. The old town is 15 min walk away or 5 min by bus.I don't have anything negative to write, it was a perfect choice.

This is an excellent hotel. I would reccomend it. It is not right in the center of the town, but probably about a 15 minute walk. The train station is very close though, so if you are taking a train into Salzburg, it is only about a 5 to 10 minute walk. One of the things we liked about our hotel, is that it has access to an internet, not in our room, but near our room, down the hall (we were on the first floor).

I was pleased by the hotel's proximity to downtown and the central train station. We walked to both with no problem. The people at the desk were helpful and the room was a pleasant surprise - light and very spacious, with a super-comfortable bed! The prices quoted inside the room were much more than we were quoted online (and which we paid). It seemed to be two hotels in one, which was a tad confusing but didn't really matter. The breakfast was, as they advertised, plenty! Unless you want something cosy and absolutely central, I would recommend this place to anyone.

The breakfast was excellent. I just could not believe that this is included in the price. I would like to stay there again.

A nice friendly hotel in a good location

Non ci è sembrato esattamente un 4 stelle, ma più scadente. guardacaso proprio accanto all'hotel c'è n'è un altro della stessa compagnia che è effettivamente un quattro stelle. il nostro sembrava quello di serie b.

This hotel had all the amenities and the staff was helpful though not friendly or welcoming. The location is convenient to public transportation.

Nice hotel. Location was super! The restaurant is pretty good, although a bit pricy. The breakfast buffet was wonderful! I'd definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay!

Very nice considering some of the other Best Westerns we went to. Restaurant could have tried to be more helpful as far as service and seating but overall it was a pleasant stay and we would go there again. Great location. in the center of town and had tours available for pick up at hotel.

The hotel was a very good one. Well located, 5 minuts walk from railway and 15 minunts walk from old town. Room are large and clean Yhe breakfast could be a better.

The location in Salzburg is good with a pleasant walk through Mirabell Gardens into the Old Town. The hotel staff were all courteous(did not laugh at my german) and helpful (spoke excellent english). We stayed with our 15 month old daughter the weekend before Christmas and found Salzburg quite magical. The hotels' restaurant was the best feature for us. It was pleasantly presented in a traditional Austrian style with lots of natural wood and the menu was good. We found it perfect to have breakfast and dinner with our young daughter. Welcoming, warm, good food (and excellent beer!) and not too stuffy. Thanks for a great Christmas break at an excellent price.
