I've never been (in more than 30 years travelling around the world, 15-20 times a year) in a room smaller than this. About the prize... well that was a night very busy in almost all the Rome hotels because the Champions League Final, but to cash 170 euros for this kind of individual room... I'm sorry for the word, but this is a robbery (the hotel did it, not Venere I know it).

The room was extremely small. The bathroom light was out, the bedroom window latch was broken, the phone didn't work, and there was someone on the roof next to my room which made my family very uncomfortable and nervous with the broken window latch.

A nice Best Western Hotel. We stayed in family room that could hold our family of 4. It was very small and was a constant battle for space to sit, put suitcases and maneuver. Perhaps a normal double room would not be so bad. The rooms were clean and the location was good. There were a few restaurants nearby and several shops.

This is a very good hotel. All employees are very helpful and kindly. As this hotel is situated close to the Vatican Museum it is perfect to live in a so central place in Rome. Maybe the price is a little high?

The hotel was very pleasant and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was also very well located, close to the Vatican museums. The single room I had, however, was very cramped; you couldn't swing a cat in it. If the room had been bigger, I would have no grounds to fault it. Still a very nice hotel to stay in.

This hotel is fantastic, literally right around the corner from the Vatican Museum. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were enormous, and the hotel was spotless. 5 mins walk from bars and cafe's. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Rome!

Hotel has excellent location close to the Vatican and Metro in a good neighborhood. Rooms were clean and well furnished. We stayed two night, then went to Venice, and later returned for three more nights. The air conditioner in our first room was not able to keep the room as cool as we would have liked, while the air conditioning in the second room was fine. The first room was a corner room and had two large windows which probably contributed to the air conditioners struggle to keep the room cool. Otherwise, we were very pleased with the hotel.

Please correct and update information on the website. The train stop names have been changed. We stopped one stop early due to the website stating to get off at the Vaticano Musei. There is no such stop. It's been changed now. Also, there is internet IN THE ROOM at no charge. The website stated there was a small charge. This is a BIG PLUS FOR MANY TRAVELERS AND COULD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN CHOOSING YOUR HOTEL! Lastly, our family of FIVE stayed comfortably as there was a double bed, sofa sleeper PLUS a single chair that folded out to a comfortable bed. In Italy where prices are crazy for Americans, this was an affordable option AFTER reserving 2 rooms for my children. We all were able to stay very comfortable in one room

I recently stayed here with my mum, it was a very pleasant enjoyable stay. My only fault was when we were leaving the hotel ordered us a taxi and it was delayed by nearly 30minutes! We made our flight but we were a little stressed to say the least. The staff did not seem to stressed by this delay which upset my mother.

A localização é excelente, fica numa rua tranqüila, bem perto do Museu do Vaticano, Metrô, ponto de ônibus, restaurantes, lojas, etc. Vale muito a pena !

Hotel is only 2 blocks and a flight of steps up to the Vatican Museum. Wonderful breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon along with large assortment of breads, juices, coffee and teas. The fresh fruit juice mix was especially tasty. Stayed only one night but would definitely stay again. Has a small but adequate elevator. Rooms were nicely decorated, beds were firm but otherwise nice.

We were very impressed with the front desk people when we arrived. They were very helpful. Arranged tour company pickup for the next day for us, explained how to get to the underground station and where to get off for some sight seeing we wanted to do on our own, and directed us to a good place to eat our lunch. Appreciated the internet availability and enjoyed the breakfast. Plenty of food to choose from. We would be happy to use their facility again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Spring House. The staff could not do enough to help us and make our stay in Rome brilliant. I am a travel agent and never told any staff this and I was even more impressed that they were as friendly and helpful with everyone. The hotel is spotless and very close to the vatican and only 4 metro stops from the centre of rome. The metro station is 2 minutes away from the hotel too. I will definatley return to this hotel and recommend this to any customers wishing to visit Rome. I travelled with my husband, two young children, parents and brother and all I can say is that we had a wonderful time and stayed at an impeccable hotel. Cant wait to return!!!!

Hotel is literally around the corner from the Vatican Museum entrance. Charming and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. Room was clean and compact, but not cramped, and had plenty of storage space including a safe. Very comfortable bed, with a choice of pillows. Only complaint: lack of interior soundproofing. Conversation and TV in adjacent rooms and noises from corridor kept me awake. I would definitely stay here again, but bring earplugs for sleeping.

I would really recommend this hotel. The location was great as it was only 5 minutes away from the vatican which was very useful for one of our party who had slight mobility problems. I would reccomend the tour bus for anyone with mobility problems as it allowed you to see the sights with out having to walk about too much, there is one that leaves outside the vatican every half hour from 9.30a.m until 7.30 p.m. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful and they made the holiday even more special. Breakfast buffet was great even if the dining area was a bit small.

Great choice for our family of five, 2 adults & 3 teenagers. we booked a Superior double room and a triple room for the teenagers. The double was a bit small not to much room around the bed to walk but ok. The triple room was spacious. Size of rooms standard for Europe. With our room upgrade the hotel allowed us to have anything and everything unlimited from the mini bar, that was perfect since the street vendors and cafes charge anywhere from 2-5 euros for a water or cola drink. The staff is very helpfull and nice. Both of our rooms had a balcony with chairs and small table overlooking the front of the hotel we could see the Vatican wall from our balcony. The American-Italia breakfast was great, eggs, Italian bacon, meat links, cereals, cakes and fresh fruit etc.... we looked forward to breakfast. The shower is small but it works must lift legs up to wash can not bend over in the shower. Location to Vatican very close. Other attractions futher away, metro stop 5 minute walk. Supermarket 3 minute walk. Great cafe near Vatican called Insulata Ricca located in Pizza del Risorgimento. Huge salads. With very fresh produce, and other light dishes very good prices. The pronto pizza across from the hotel is ok, we ordered takeout from there one evening the prices are fair, they speak very little english. The Hotels room service and food is very good and cheap prices. I would recomend this hotel as a good value for the money we paid 125,00 euros a night for the superior double and 135,00 euros for the triple per night we booked the rooms thru a search engine database that shows what travel site is offering the best price. We spent 6 nights at this hotel. There is a self service laundry close if needed we used it we did not want to take dirty laundry on to Venice were we were to spend 5 more days. The laundry service is pricey wash 4,00 euros and dry 4,00 euros for 21 minutes of drying time. I would recomend this hotel and I would book this hotel again if I were to return

My wife and I travelled to Italy for the first time, with our 8 year old daughter. We can confirm that all what is said of Spring House Hotel in the web site is correct. The front desk staff, Romina and the rest of the team, are competent and friendly, always eager to assist. The rooms, bathroom and public areas are kept impeccably clean, and the full american breakfast is excellent and ample. Rooms are not big but... this is Europe. The Hotel is very close to the subway and to the impressive Vatican Museum. In short, Spring House Hotel is an excellent choice in Rome and we'd definetely use it again.

I was glad that my friends arrived before me and made sure that I had a bigger room. The staff were very friendly and spoke several languages which made my stay easier. This is a great hotel. Excellent helpful staff and nice clean rooms. Most of the rooms have balcony's to sit and relax on after the days sightseeing. The only criticism is that the dining room (for the included breakfast) was very small and cramped, but even so I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was excellent and me and my girlfriend had a good welcome despite arriving at nearly 2 am. We didn't want to spend a fortune as we didn't plan on spending a lot of time in the room and wanted to see Rome so this was good value considering Rome prices. The included breakfast was very nice and the room was clean so don't worry girls and we had tea making facilities. The location is fine on a quiet street and of course Rome is very well spread out so it's advisable to use the nearby tube if you have say been near the Colosseum on the other side of the river. I would definitely come back and stay here. There were no real downsides. Sure the rooms are not massive but this is to be expected in Rome and we had a balcony. There was a nice local restaurant just around the corner. The air conditioning unit was marginally noisy at night time but don't be put off by this at all.

Room was small. The triple offered almost no room to move inside the room. The AC was poor. Could not select the fan speed, and it never got cool enough to be confortable. The included breakfast was good. The hotel location was excellent, a stone's throw to the vatican's museum entrance. The hotel staff was excellent.

The trip to Rome was a special birthday present for my friends and I. We booked Spring House purely on price and location so were not expecting much. We were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very friendly, the welcome breakfast was a really nice touch and fuelled us so we could face a walk whilst our room was prepared. The room was small but as I expected from the comments and it had everything we needed. This is probably not the best hotel if a guest is of larger than average build as everything is narrower than in the average hotel but for the skinny and average it is great value.

Spring House has an excellent location. We walked to all the major sights. The staff were very helpful, what they did not know they found out quickly and efficiently.Breakfast was superb especially the fruits, berries and pastries. When we saw our room we believed we had not been given the superior room we had requested. On investigation however, the room was superior to a standard room. Our advice would be to book a superior room if you wish to be able to walk around the bed.

Our credit card number had been stolen & when we arrived at Spring House they had cancelled our reservations. We were told that e-mail had been sent, but we checked before & during our trip & there was no e-mail. It really was our fault not to notify them, but before we left, we checked Venere & were told our reservations were confirmed. We did not this problem with the Hotel California. Anyway, we were given a suite for the first night & then we shared the room with our son while our daughter & husband were given a double for the next 3 nights. The employees were very nice. Since this happened, we were given a break on the total price which was certainly fine with us. It was close to most of the important places in Rome & would recommend it & stay again if we were in Rome.

We had reserved a quadruple room but upon arrival there was none available so we were offered two double rooms for the same price. The rooms were side by side and the only ones of the seventh floor. We were in walking distance of the Vatican museum as well as St Peter's Square.

The location was great. We were one block from the Vatican in a central location and very close to public transportation. However, the hotel was not AT ALL what we had expected. First, the rooms are meant for 1 person (be prepared to use the bed to get accross to the other side of the room). Also, we spent the first four days with a flood in our bathroom (we couldn't use the toilet without the extra "shower"). After four days of mentioning it to several of the front desk staff, we finally asked to speak with the hotel manager. This of course never happened, but we were given a new room after we finally got the front desk manager to come see our room. I should mention, the front desk employees are not nearly as kind and helpfull as the janitors and kitchen staff. The website was also very misleading. It gave the inpression that Hotel Spring House was family owned, but when we arrived- a Best Western to our suprise! Overall, I must say that we did not have as pleasant of a two week stay as we had hoped for.

The location was excellent. Very close to the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Square. Although Rome is fairly walkable, the subway stop is only a few minutes away, and that will get you close to most sights. We didn't use buses but they're all over the place too. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and adequately sized. The bathroom was a bit small and the shower was very small, which is probably my only reservation about the accommodations. Towels were good. The breakfast was the best we had among all places we stayed, with pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs and bacon, juices and american coffee and cappuccino. I would definitely stay here again.

First and foremost, I would like to say that the location of the hotel is excellent. Not only is it close to the Vatican Museum, and St Peter's Square, but it is also very well linked. The metro station is only about 5 minutes walk away and journey times into central Rome is merely 15 minutes. Overall the hotel does live up to its 3* accommodation rating with clean and well-kept rooms, and good quality breakfast. However, I was quite disappointed with the quad room provided for us. The size of it was of a standard double room with one double bed and two fold-out single beds squashed into the corners. There was a door in the room that would normally lead to an adjoining twin/double room (as shown on the website), but was instead blocked by one of the fold-out beds. We felt deceived and cheated, as we paid the maximum charge for the "quad room" and were given what I consider to be a 3* standard double room. I just found it appalling that in order to accept more guests during the busy period of the new Pope's inauguration and Rome's liberation day celebration, the hotel would compromise on some guests' accommodation and still charge the full price.

Wonderful location if you want to spend a lot of time at Vatican. Convenient to the rest of Rome - you can walk (30 minutes) or take metro 2-4 stops to major sites. Price over Easter very high but that is to be expected. Very helpful staff. Neighborhood is a bit dull, not the picturesque, lively "Roman" scene.

The hotel was exactly as promised-very close to the Vatican. Good value for the money and great breakfast. Getting there by cab is a good idea because the metro does not have an elevator at the Cipro stop and the hotel is about 4-5 blocks from the metro stop.

This is a great little hotel, it is absolutely ideal if you're looking for a short break in Rome. The staff are very pleasant and obliging, and the breakfast buffet is more than adequate. The hotel is in a fantastic location close to the Vatican Museum, and just out of earshot from the noise and hussle of the busy roads. St Peter's Square is 10 minutes away on foot, and from there you have a choice of routes to visit the various sites of Rome, all within comfortable walking distance, or if not public transport is conveniently situated nearby. There are various restaurants a block or two from the hotel if you don't want to venture far for your evening meal, and there are plenty of small shops in the vicinity. The only downside was the room for 4 people we had was small, but that was expected. The room was adequate as we were out and about for most of the day. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, it represents great value.

Spring House is convenient to the Vatican Museum enterance. There are several good restaurants nearby. It is on a quiet side street. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a balcony and was clean. The shower/bath were tiny.

The Spring House is clean and close to the Vatican. It also provides great breakfasts, with a wide assortment of foods to suit American and European tastes. But beyond that, there is little to recommend this hotel. The rooms are microscopic, the smallest we found anywhere in Italy. The reception staff are perfunctory. And what little signage there is in the hotel is confusing. If we had it to do over again, we would not stay at the Spring House.

The location is very good if you want to enjoy the Vatican Museums - otherwise you have to take Metro. Try to get Room 72 - it has a very spacious roof terrace with views to the Vatican and is rather quiet - very good place to enjoy breakfast (room service for free!)

We had a wonderful room on the sixth floor but there are no great views - unless perhaps from the 7th floor. We did share a cozy meal of antipasto and pizza with a couple of bottles of wine with friends on our small balcony. Great fun! It was very near the Vatican Museum and only a 10 minute walk to St Peter's. On Saturday morning at 8:30 AM, the line for the museum was longer than the walk to the museum - almost to St Peter's plaza. The breakfasts were the best we experienced in the three places (other two significantly less expensive) we stayed in Italy ... from a North American's perspective anyway! Eggs and bacon and wieners (not breakfast sausage!), good pastries, cold cereal and excellent cappuccino and caffè latte. The staff was very competent. The person who checked us in (I should have gotten his name) was most helpful. The woman in charge of the breakfast room was very pleasant and obviously took great pride in her work. We'd stay here again should we be so lucky as to be in Roma again. Pace e bene.

The internet connection may be a problem for non italians. If you need connect to Internet, try to obtain previously an italian ISP for connect by phone. May be tiscali.it ("internet gratis"). Now, in my house, I see sites like Tiscali, but in Roma, without connection, is hard to obtain one free account --one oxymoron: you need Internet connection in order to obtain one internet connection. I think that maybe the hotel employees can inform about this detail. The hotel is modern, clean, good located, the price is reasonable and the employees are kind and helpful (except to solve the Internet connection question :) The 4 bed room doesn't lets free space. Consider 2 double rooms if you plans going many hours in the hotel or needs a table to work. The quadruple room

The Spring House was a decent hotel. My room was the size of a closet but had a balcony. My sister's room was much bigger but didn't have a balcony. Either way, it was fine for the price. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. It was very close to Vatican City so we just walked there. We also got breakfast sent up to our room for free so it was nice to eat it out on the balcony. We had no problems.

I really liked the location close to the Vatican Museums entrance and to a metro stop. The breakfast was really exceptional and prepared early enough for us to enjoy and get a good start on the day.

The room was tiny and the bathroom facilities were ridiculously small. The price was too high for the room and the neighborhood. My husband and I didn't like the neighborhood. It was unpleasant. The staff was helpful and pleasant. La chambre ne valait pas le prix.

The employees at reception were very helpful. The room itself was nice but I could hear whole conversation in the next room in the midnight.

The location of this hotel is great, close to the Vatican, close to the metro station. The rooms are quite small, but is the case in most of the hotels in Rome in this price range. The breakfast is very good and there is a lot offered compared to the Italian standard. Tap water is of good quality and sufficient quantity even in the upper floors. I can recommend this place, also the restaurants given in the list in the rooms were good to very good.

The Spring House is a comfortable hotel with a warm and helpful staff. The rooms are small but well appointed. We were pleased to have a complimentary full breakfast every morning of our stay. Location is convenient to transportation and the Vatican. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was small and there was only one elevator that took forever. When we arrived we were told that although they could see our reservation via computer, it had not been confirmed and that they were fuul (the paperwork I recieved via your web site showed that the room had been confirmed) This is something that needs to be adjusted. After much converstion between the staff, a room was found. We had to wait about 45 minutes and 4 of us were squished into a little room. I have to say though, that for the price, it was not too bad of a deal.

altough only for one night, we enjoyed a lot our stay at Spring House because of its convenient location near Subway and Vatican City and, most of all, for the excellent level of noise protection of its rooms. We appreciated a lot the good rest after a tough walking day through the city. I definetly recommend Spring House as a good value for visiting Rome

We were delighted to find that Spring House is almost on the doorstep of the Vatican Museums entrance, and only a short walk away from St Peter's Square. For us, the location was ideal. There are also many excellent restaurants within 3 or 4 blocks. The staff was very helpful with our requests for tours and our many questions. A good value for the money, we would stay there again if we were in Rome.

Fantastic location just outside the walls of the Vatican. Nice room with all the usual amenities plus a bathrobe and flip flops for each guest - nice touch. Bathroom on the small side but clean. Our room had a balcony on which to sit and have breakfast and enjoy the sights and sound of Rome.

As stated, very close to the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's and about 20 minutes walk to the Metro which gave easy access to the rest of Rome. Very good choice of breakfast and had light snacks in the bar which were very good. Mostly very helpful staff. Tea and coffee facility in room is not standard. We had to ask for same and ask for replenishments.
