Best Western Hotel Roma Tor Vergata - Torre Angela, Rome

Backwoods, too far from everything, about an hour (bus + metro) to reach the city of Rome.

The W-LAN was for free, not extra charged as written on the internet! TV had TV and even showed an English and a German channel, however, the quality of them was quite poor.

When I arrived, the taxi warned me that I should not go out alone at night as the area is not safe at all. I was starving when I arrived in the evening and I thought that I would be safe with pasta carbonara. What a mistake! Do not go to the restaurant ... The bathroom was not so clean. People are friendly and nice. There is a nice service with the shuttle bus... I think that this hotel is ok for low budgets only.

The staff was very unfriendly and not very helpfully. The rooms weren't very clean, in 1 room was also some mould on the ceiling.The breakfast was very "italian" and the waiters really unfriendly, she forced us to use the plastic-tray, because she was afraid that we could make dirty the table-cloth. The pasta in the restaurant was awful, the meat in the tomatosauce (pasta all'ammatricana-tipic food of rome!!!!) was uneatable. The staff of the reception and the managment was really unfriendly, because we stayed there for work and as we ask their help, they do not gave it to us. We could not recommend this hotel!!!!

I chose this hotel since I often stay in one of the Accor group hotels and that usually Ibis hotels have very good quality/price. However, I was rather dissapointed by Ibis Roma Torvergata. Althought its rooms are relatively "upgraded" compared to a standard Ibis room, this does not justify the higher price. The location is too distant from the city centre / from nearest metro station and there are absolutely no shops or restaurants around it(therefore, you should be definitely mobile by car/bike to reach the hotel/the city). Receptionists not so friendly(least I know better hotel in Italy). And finally, additional fee for animals way too high!! (20euros: while other Ibis hotels charge only around 5-10euros) I would recommend you to stay in a hotel least inside the city perimeter (near a metro station, if possible). Roads within the city and the freeway "GRA" are usually crowded so I would not recommend you to reach the city from this hotel by car(Use the Park-and-Ride for metroB).
