We were on Honeymoon and somehow got put in room 601 which was right next to the elevator and the laundry closet! We were kept awake all night by the sound of the elevator and then very early in the morning when the cleaning started happening.

I had a room that was near the breakfast room. I generally had to go to the lobby to use the internet because there was clearly interference from the equipment in the breakfast room kitchen. It was a major inconvenience because I had work to do.

First time in Rapallo. The hotel location is simply perfect. I was with 3 kids so was worried that there was no pool in the hotel but the beach is at the hotel's feet so that was clearly not a problem. Great facilities at the beach but the beach itself is not the greatest as it's next to the harbour. The hotel staff was very nice, warm and welcoming, fluent in many languages, and dealing with problems quickly and efficiently. The rooms are so so in terms of style, bathroom too small but all in all pretty comfortable.

Nice hotel with a grab view of the harbor. The room was nice, but the internet did not work well in the room. We had to go to the lobby to use it most of the time. The bathroom was tiny. The shower was smaller than on my last cruise ship. Most American would not like this tight a fit...

Though the hotel was great - including the location -- we experienced REALLY bad service at two restaurants recommended by hotel staff. We complained to hotel staff after the first night and found ourselves a bit 'targeted' by the restaurant staff the following night. We are easy-going people and did not experience anything like this at any other time while in Italy. The restaurants were Ristorante Romantico (food was good, service was abominable) and Trattoria Genovese (we were treated incredibly rudely - we noted that one of the waiters there was the same guy as night before). Would suggest Tigullio Royal re-think recommending these two restaurants unless changes are made.

We booked this hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor - was everything we expected and more. Great staff, excellent location, wonderful breakfast, but would have liked the breakfast room to also be available for dinners as the view was spectacular. Only complaint - the floors could have been cleaner - dusty in non-traffic areas. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel.

Our grop of seven spent a week on the Italian Riviera befor attending a wedding in Sardinia. The hotel was perfect. It is well situated as a base camp for visiting the Cinque Terre and other towns along the coast. The hotel was immaculate and the breakfast on the terrace was delicious and a delightful experience. We enjoyed walking along the promenade across the street. The only disappointment was the rocky and small beach which had nothing to do with the hotel. Would go back there in a minute. The staff helped us at every turn!

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Tigullio Royal. The hotel was spotless and the sheets and towels were changed regularly. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble particularly the dining room staff. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is central to boats, promenade and restaurants. The station is within walking distance. We would recommend this hotel

Highly recommend. We had 64 year olds and 29 year olds and it was perfect for everyone. Great view, fabulous help from the staff. They helped us from restaurants, day trips, private drivers and even Fed Ex 3 boxes back to U.S. We were 5 hotels during our trip and this was our favorite. Breakfast was to die for. Easy access to Cinque Terre for the day and wonderful to return to luxury Rapallo. We can hardly wait to return.

The hotel Tigullio was easy to find once we had a map of Rapallo.Very easy to access the buses and trains. Staff were friendly and very obliging right down to the lady who cleaned the rooms. The only complaint was that the best tables for breakfast were on the balcony but it was the smoking area and since we both suffer from asthma we were forced to move inside. We did however have a non smoking room. The free wiifi was super.

The concierge did not know enough about the area, the traffic or the weather conditions, which was inconvenient. It's a nice place to stay if you are on the road, but I would not stay there for a long time as it is quite noisy and the beach is not very clean.

Good location for evening bars and restaurants. Breakfast room lovely with friendly restaurant staff. BUT - rooms are not 'sound-proof' as advertised, very noisy room, street noise very bad in this area. Also, web-site states 'out-door' parking, which is actually a public carpark away from the hotel - not suitable for safe motobike parking. Suggest the argumentative reception manager needs some customer care training.

Our friends had made a reserve trough an other web because yours only admitted one room, and had their reservation code confirmed but there wasn't a room for them, so we slept altogether in the same room with two added beds (we are two couples)as the hotel was full. We had to pay the additional beds and the four breakfasts. All that after 1600 Kms by car. A pleasure.

The hotel was as represented by Venere - we had a junior suite on the fourth floor looking out into the harbour. Room was very spacious and clean. The power shades on the windows kept both the sun and noise out of the room - very handy. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and gave us lots of good advice. The hotel location is very handy for the ferry that goes to Portofino and Santa Margarita. I would recommend this facility - an excellent value. The breakfast were provided by the hotel and was outstanding with a wide selection of everything including some wonderful yogurt.

great hotel, good value and good service. The room was very large and had a small balcony overlooking rooftops but also the sea. Beware the neighbours could see into the room if the curtain wasn't drawn! Breakfast was excellent with all tastes accommodated and also the chance to take breakfast on the small balcony overlooking the sea front. The parking situation was a bit strange. There's a market held in the parking area (directly in front of the hotel) on Thursdays until about 3. We arrived at 3:15 when the barriers to the parking area were not yet re-installed. No problem, just tekll the voice at the exit gate that you're staying at the Tigullio and they let you out ;). The staff were friendly enough and helpful with advice aboutwhere to go what to do. The beach was very nice and clean, with good facilities and reasonably priced however this does not include food which was VERY expensive. There's ferries to other ports along the coast, we went to Portofino which was lovely but again I would not recommend eating or taking coffee for that matter. We stopped at a place called La Citta, American Cafe, which charged 20€ for 2 cappucinos and a bottle of water - no doubt funding a new Ferrari.... Would strongly recommend the great sea-food restaurant "Eden" in Rapallo(ask the hotel for directions) which was outstanding. I would use the hotel again and hopefully not in the too distant future!

March 9 & 10th, 2007: This is the best hotel we booked with Venere.com. Everything was perfect; the rooms, the location near the water, the staff, the view & the breakfast. And on top of that we were lucky to be there while an old classic car rally was taking place. The hotel faces the front street of the waterfront, which offers a nice view but can be noisy. On our first night the Italian team won a game in the World Cup tournament, and we had horns blowing, motor scooters racing, and people yelling outside, starting at 11 PM. The next 2 days involved a town holiday, so our days started early and ended late with fireworks and marching bands just outside the room. The breakfast room was particularly lovely. However, this was the only hotel (out of 6) that we stayed in during our Italy trip that required your room number before you could take breakfast and the only one that would not allow you to take an extra croissant back to the room. Some of the front desk staff were very helpful, however. The holiday prevented me from parking the rental car in the usual place near the hotel, and one of the staff members drove with me to find an alternative place.

This is a fantastic hotel. The location is superb - right at the hub of Rapallo - 2 minutes to the boat service and 5 minutes to the railway and bus stations. My room was immaculate and very spacious, and would have been even better if I'd gone for the seaview; even so the view over the rooftops to the mountains was nice. Very professional staff, polite, friendly and cheerful - especially those in the breakfast room. And as for that breakfast!...an incredible array of fresh fruit, focaccia, pastries, cheese, eggs and much more served with beautiful linen, crockery and cutlery. Thoroughly recommended.

Although the triple room was very nice it did not have a balcony as we had requested and booked well in advance. The hotel was fully occupied so no change could be made - so was disappointing. Staff were apologetic. Otherwise hotel was central, clean and nice, though we thought, for a 4 star rating, that it was not as nice as the 3 star hotels we had been staying in prior to this in Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Viarregio.

We were treated badly when we arrived,Although we booked a seaview, with the price wich goes with it,we were told by reception on arrival that people who book through Venere only get the rooms at the back of the Hotel.Even after we produced an e-mail from the Hotel confirming our stay with seaview she insisted that the e-mail didn't guarantee a seaview. We refused to except any other room and after one big unpleasant row,we were given a room with a partial seaview.Don't stay here if you book through Venere, they regard you as a second rate traveller and only give you second rate accommodation.

The hotel is well positioned and the sea facing rooms may be pleasant. It is modern with good fire precuations. It needs them: the rooms at the back (201,301,401 etc are next to a derelict building that is probably a fire hazard and there would be no escape from there. That building is infested with pigeons ("flying rats") that sit on the window cill from dawn and feel as though they are trying to get through the shutter. Apart from that, it is fine. The choice at breakfast is excellent.
