Hotel Best Western Premier Royal Saint Michel - Paris

Rooms are so small. I expected something bigger from a 4* hotel. The room for breakfast was small too and even if they dindn't have enough room to accomodate the customers, they kept holding a reservation for one of the best table, day after day ( I stayed there 7 days and it was the same scenario every morning).

Elevator minute! Beggars just in front of the hotel. Taxi requested by the recepcionist of the hotel was stopped by the police. I spent 30 minutes in the street while the police was checking the taxi driver's documents.I had to take another taxi called by the police.I was going to the airport CDG.

We picked this hotel for its location: Short walking distance to many attractiond and next to the line B subway station connected directly to CDG airport in 30 min. The room was small but clean. The included breakfast was good. We stayed two nights and found the hotel's location very convenient to explore the central core of Paris. Hotel staffs were very helpful.

Room is small as expected but clean and tidy. Breakfast served is excellent with a lot of choices. Staff are friendly and very helpful. location is perfect for the visit as close to Notre Dame with lots of restaurants, cafes and eateries. A true Paris experience.

My husband and I stayed at the Premier Royal St Michel Oct 08. We chose this expensive hotel for the St Michel area. We were expecting a decent sized room, mini bar, balcony and Tea/Coffee tray. We got the mini bar. No balcony. No Tea/Coffee tray until I asked a housemaid for one, which was happily brought up but subsequent days the supplies were not topped up and I had to ask for more milk pods. The double room was so small we could not put the suitcase rack up. One suitcase was stored upright in tiny clothes cupboard and other one placed upright under bathroom sink. Hotel lift smallest lift I have seen anywhere in the world in many years of travel. We only just fit in (without luggage) and we are people of small stature. Lift was out of action one afternoon/evening during our stay and it's placement abutting the winding staircase is dangerous, perhaps deadly. Anyone not paying attention upon leaving the lift could easily fall down the staircase if they moved to the right not ahead until they got their bearings. Would not pass Australian Workplace Health and Safety standards, but then the room would not either. Breakfast room very small, and always cramped coping with guests, but breakfast itself was excellent and the wait staff were wonderfully attentive and very pleasant ladies and spoke excellent English. The same was applicable to all house staff but most of the Reception Staff were quite snooty especially Madame. One exception was a Ceylonese gentleman who was always very friendly, pleasant, spoke excellent English too and rectified a potentially disastrous error his colleague had made with our departure shuttle time. I asked for an iron and ironing board one day and was graciously given an iron but they had no ironing board. We don't believe this hotel deserves a 4 star rating merely on the merits of the locale - St Michel has other hotels and they must be better value.

We were very pleased to find that the description on the internet and reality corresponded so well. The rooms were small but in these old areas this is not suprising,the bathrooms were clean and newly renovated,the beds were of a very good standard and we all slept well, even the extra bed was good. In spite of the location we were not disturbed by the noice at night.The most suprising was the superb breakfast offered in the rather small breakfastroom. We are used to only get croissants and jam in France but this was precisely what you need to start off the day. Freshly cut fruitsallad,french ham/cheese, yogurt, wholewheat cereals and to top it off pastery and bread from Paul's bakery. We were extremely please with our choice of hotel who would have thought that a hotel with this location could be as good as this. We will definitely come back.

A great location; very friendly and helpful desk staff. Our airport shuttel ran late, and the front desk clerk stepped in and called a taxi for an immediate departure. Price seems high for the size of room, although was as quoted and room was comfortable, though not overly spacious
