Nice hotel, well situated, nice staff but no breakfast included. Close (walking distance) to metro station, Notre Dame, Mouffetard Street, to the Mosque and Institut du Monde Arabe. Very close to bookstores, Musée de Cluny (Moyen Age) and Sourbonne. Very nice stay!

I wanted a small hotel in the Latin Quarter within 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame - that was quiet and had air conditioning. Not easy! This hotel suited me perfectly, and the staff were wonderful.

That was my first time in Paris and I really enjoyed the location, very central and perfect to reach the most important sites and places of the city, also great connection with the airport, through B train and just one stop with subway, line 10 from St. Michel. On the whole the stay has been ok, the only two negative things were that the room was pretty small and breakfast was not included ( euro 14,00 per person, per day ). But for the most it was fine.

Great place. The rooms in the back section have a slight uncomfortable access (little and shabby lift or equivalent stairs), but the rooms are very nice. Breakfast is expensive and I avoided it. I had a simple cafe and croissant just across Bld St. Germain ath the NFC cafe' on the corner.

The hotel was wonderful, spotless, and modern for the price. However, the staff was impatient, arrogant, and made HUGE errors in both my billing (double billed us) and errors in quoting phone calling. FYI, collect calls to your credit card company or anyone are not allowed in France anymore and since the staff forget that detail, after i questioned them, it cost me $100 just to let my bank know i was not using my card illegally! Super frustrating and staff not at all helpful or sorry for their error. The space itself was wonderful but do your homework in the US.

A reasonably-priced good hotel located in the quaint Latin quarters. Hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. Room was clean but really small ... that's about the only major fault about this hotel.

This hotel was well located in the Latin Quarter on a very quiet street. Easy walking distance to Metro, restaurants and the Seine. It is a Best Western property but has a charm and character you would never find in the USA. Our room was small, but comfortable and well furnished in a modern mix of colors and textures. The entire staff was very friendly, gracious and accomodating. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for the combination of location, comfort and value.

The hotel was clean and quiet and well located for the sights on the left bank. The staff were, without exception, helpful and friendly. The room was spotlessly clean if on the small side, but this is the centre of Paris so not unusual. There are some wonderful restaurants within walking distance.

I booked this hotel based on the other reviews and I was not disappointed. The rooms, though small, were clean, tastefully decorated, and reasonably priced (in August, we got a rate of about 120 euros). Our room was very small as it was right beside the elevator, so I would recommend asking for a room in a different location. The woman at reception was extremely helpful as we had just landed in Paris; she had many recommendations for us and helped us out with navigating the city. The location is excellent, within walking distance of most tourist sites.

We stayed in Paris for 4 nights. The location of the hotel is excellent. The rooms are very small, but very clean. We were in room 507 No veiw, boxy and hot, the air conditioning is good. There was a plastic sheet on top of the matress, under the bottom sheet. I awoke in a bog of sweat, and a head cold. Not very nice. The staff are very helpful and were there to help whenever they could. My opinion, a little to expensive for what you got.

I booked this hotel on recommendation from a friend who uses it when travelling to Paris. I was pleasantly surprised by both the size of the room (though one needs to specify that one wants the bigger rooms facing to the street at the back) and the size and quality of the bathroom. Usually hotels in Paris , apart from very expensive ones, fall down on these two points. A colleague was staying in one of the single rooms and these are not as spacious, about standard for Paris, though the quality of the bathroom is better than most single rooms I have stayed in in Paris. The hotel is very conveniently situated to many famous sites (Pantheon, Sorbonne, Notre Dame etc.)and a metro station (Maubert Mutualite). There are also many good restaurants and Bistrot a Vins nearby (Le Pre Verre being the best known). My wife and I have already marked some to try on our next visit. The only negatives are the air conditioning (did not work in spite of many requests) and the cost of breakfast (14 euros for a continental breakfast seems a bit much in a city where one can get a basic 3 course meal for that price).

Spent 2 nights here. The hotel is ideally located for The Latin Quarter , St Germain , and The Islands. Very easy to reach from CDG Airport by RER B3 to St Michel and short walk from there. It's a lovely small hotel. Very clean - public areas & rooms. The rooms are a good size by Parisien standards - I've been in smaller! However they are well equipped and comfortable. Staff friendly & helpful. I have already recommended and would stay here again.

We arrived at the Best Western on the same street by mistake and were redirected to our correct hotel, Jardin de Cluny. Unfortunately, their site was overbooked and kindly requested that we return to the first site to stay there. They offered free breakfast as compensation, provided a speedy early check in (at about 10AM). What I found very nice was that the concierge allowed us to view three rooms and to choose from these. The common areas were really nice, especially the breakfast room down in the "cave." Our room had exposed beams and nice decor. The location is extraordinary.

The Hotel Le Jardin de Cluny was a fantastic find for us. We were very pleased with the location, service, and quality of the hotel and would definitely recommend spending a bit more to stay in this hotel to make a stay in Paris all the more lovely. It was fantastic to be in the "university" part of town and to be within a few minutes walk to Notre Dame, etc. The hotel is on a quiet side street but just one short block from a main street and underground/RER station. The room itself was a nice size, not big, but plenty of space with a nice bathroom and lovely double windows. Overall, a wonderful place that we would definitely return to.

We had an absolutely marvelous time - I had been to Paris as a twelve year old with my parents but this time with my husband was great! We had planned to use the Metro but instead used the Batobus about six times and walked literally MILES each day. Apart from interest in the galleries/museums (Museum Pass definitely cuts waiting time) we enjoyed the wonderful architecture and many bridges. We "dined" many times on fresh bread (Rue Monge) and cheese/wine/fruit (Place Maubert) and a few times at nearby cafes - all excellent. We were in Paris six nights but still need to see more - especially the Marais. The Hotel & staff could not have been better/more helpful and internet enabled us to "talk" to our children/grandchildren. Best of all, my husband truly enjoyed himself!!

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, maybe not as big as some and not overly luxurious but we weren't planning to spend time in it so it was adequate. The Latin Quarter was a great place to stay in and the hotel is ideally placed to be near enough without being affected by any noise. The metro and Notre Dame are mins away and there are lots of great eating places. A 12 O'clock checking out time was good and we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel for the day after checking out. We recommend this hotel and would definately go back.

Sorry to say that even though we booked the room with in large advance the double room we had was very bad located and not up to our expectations. It was located at the ground floor between the door from the outside garden and the elevator and we could hear the guests and the cleaning personnel passing by and waiting for the elevator. We couldn't relaxed and sleep well because of the noise outside. The there was noise coming from the bathroom on the upper floor...we could hear the water running douwn the shower... The cleaning personnel knocked insistently at the door even though we let them know we were in and so we couldn't relaxed as we wanted and we feld forced to go out... For the price we paid we supposed the breakfast was included and infact it wasn't so we had to spend 13 euros more each and I think it wasn't really worth that money... The quietness and the success of our journey was, to be honest, a bit spoilt by the noise and by the carelessness of the personnel. sorry to say that..Monica Solci

We were asked on arrival if we wanted to upgrade, this we did at our expence. We were told that this was a better room and had a double bed rather than 2 singles. We don't know what the original room was like but this was a small room! The room was dull and plain. The electric safe was large enough to take our small laptop which was good. The WiFi in the hotel didn't work beyond the second floor so this was useless as we were on the 4th. We did not take breakfast in the hotel so we can not comment apart from the normal of being too expensive, there are plenty of cheaper places locally. The hotel is located in an ideal position. Just on the edge of the Latin quarter where there are dozens of bars and restaurants. Notre Dame and the Pantheon are just a few minutes walk away. The Metro and RER stations are also very close with direct connections to both Orly and CDG airports. We would certainly stay here again.

Room and hotel adequate. Breakfast gave a wide variety of food - pity the drinks (coffee, tea and chocolate) were poor and luke warm. The room was not available when we turned up and we were asked to stay in another hotel just around the corner which was also a three star hotel. (The hotel was great). They offered a free breakfast the next morning. As they promised, we were given the best room on the second night. It was a big room with a very clean modern bathroom and a separate toilet. The staff were nice. The hotel is located in a quiet street in a beautiful and convenient area, just one bus from Gare du Nord. It was a great stay.

I cannot begin to describe what an amazing stay we had. First, location, location and location - this hotel has it. The rooms were clean and modern. Best of all, were the staff. During our stay, my mother had a bit of an accident and the staff were amazing. They not only helped us in our time of need but took extra effort to make sure she was comfortable. The hotel was lovely and the staff very welcoming and helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent for our stay as very close to all the bars and shops in the latin quarter everything was within walking distance. The breakfast was the standard 12e but it is a little overpriced - I would choose to arrnae breakfast ourselves on our next trip. My only negative comment which was beyond the hotels control was our room was to the rear of the hotel on a very quiet road, but a resident was having a party very loud into Sunday morning, not good when you have to climb the Eiffel Tower the next day. All in all a very nice stay and the very welcoming staff made the trip.

The pictures of the rooms on the internet are slightly misleading, in relation to the room that we stayed in, although it was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was excellent the actual room was very small. Very friendly welcome, service staff enjoyed speaking english. We had the double superieur but the superiority was higly concentrated. We booked a standard double. However, we were put into a standard single room and charged with the same price. The bed was too small for two people. They offered to change rooms the next day, but our schedule didn't allow us to wait for 2 hours until the room is ready. So, in the end we paid DOUBLE PRICE for a single room. Other then this, it was a great hotel with a great location. The bathroom was clean and modern.

The room was small but nice, confirming the good comments on venere.com. The location is perfect to me, at walking distance from Notre Dame or the Pantheon. The service was very disappointing because of the overbooking. It is not nice to find out that the room you booked is not available. Moreover, they sent us for one night in an awful hotel for the same price, while, as far as I know, when someone does overbooking, he use to send you to a BETTER hotel for the same price. That was enough to turn my overall impression negative, from positive that it could have been.

Le Jardin de Cluny is a good value hotel. Our rooms were very modern (I think it has just been refitted), the staff were very helpful, and the location excellent. Just a short walk away is Notre Dame and the River, and a lovely find of small winding streets with lots of good restaurants at excellent prices (10e for 3 courses). Would definately recommend and will be going back there next time I visit Paris. Good hotel in one of the best parts of Paris.

If you are looking for a quiet/peaceful location, only a 3 minute walk from he hub of the Latin quarter. Then Le Jardin de Cluny is for you! The rooms are small (most hotel rooms in Paris are anyway!) but very clean and well furnished. The staff were excellent and we were upgraded on arrival to a twin room as requested by email. Breakfast is optional served in a cellar under the hotel.(We chose not to eat in-house). The only downside- the room had recently been painted and there was a very strong smell of gloss paint. But overall our 4 night stay was very pleasant.

As with anywhere in Paris, it is going to be expensive, however considering the location and the 3 star rating, I found Le Jardin de Cluny to be great value. The prices quoted on the site are cheaper than those offered directly at the hotel, so venere.com have done an excellent job with this offer.

Hotel scored v good to excellent in all areas including the low internet price I paid. However , although I booked 3 nights on internet and had it confirmed in writing when I arrived there was only a room for 2 nights available but hotel did compensate for this and arranged 1st night accomodation elsewhere. Altogether a recommended hotel.

Although I like to try different hotels when I travel, I would probably stay at the Jardin de Cluny again. I would certainly recommend the hotel to others! The location is very close to a metro station. The rooms (I stayed in a non-smoking "supérieure" room) were large (by Paris standards), clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly! I liked that the toilet was in its own "cabinet," separated from the rest of the bathroom. Very French!
