Hotel Best Western L'Horset Opera - Paris

We were the casualties of the volcano and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful Anita Rita and Reginald went out of their way to help--with them we would never have been able to proceed with our trip - the hotel itself was great and we are recommending it to all our friends who go to Paris. We will never stay anywhere else. Thanks so much

This has to be one of the most disappointing hotels in Paris. The persons at reception were sulky and unwelcoming. The rooms were not cleaned until the late afternoon and we were told (not asked) to leave when the man came to clean. The lobby downstairs is dusty and stained. Very bad value for money!

The reason I wasn't really impressed with the Hotel, is probably because star-ratings in Holland are different than star-ratings in Paris. I guess we're spoiled in Holland; we expect more when it's a 4-star Hotel. The Hotel was "okay", not "wow!". The price for one night is not exactly cheap, therefore the price/quality rating gets 5 points. The room was not filthy or dirty, but it wasn't clean either. It smelled like someone smoked in that room for one week straight with the windows closed. And since I'm not a smoker... The Hotel is situated excellent. Not in a noisy street, yet close to the Galleries La Fayette, the Opera and the Metro (important). Travel time using the metro to almost any must-see-while-in-paris is never more than 10 minutes. What also positively surprised me was the fact that a lot of people speak english! If you need directions: Here's a tip: don't look overly tourist-like, and "screen" the person before asking. Pick a taxi-driver, someone walking a dog, or someone using a bicycle. That's probably someone who lives there and actually knows the way. Golden tip: If someone gives you directions and says "uh" a lot and doesn't seem to know the way, he probably doesn't. Ask someone else.

EXCELLENT LOCATION, NICE QUIET STREET, WITH EASY WALKING ACCESS TO THE CENTRAL SOUTH MAIN FEATURES OF PARIS. FACILITIES ARE JUST IDEAL IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A TOURIST AND DINING OUT EXPERIENCE OF PARIS AS A COUPLE.

We stayed there for a long weekend so we were more interested in location than the hotel. The location is excellent, 5 mins walk to the Louvre. The hotel is what you'd expect in Paris. rooms are a decent size for the continent and kept clean. over all we thought it was reasonably priced for what you get and would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Comfortable beds, clean modern bathroom, friendly service. We would definitely stay here again!
