Staff were friendly and competent, especially at the breakfast service, which was very good. The location is great for getting to the main and local railway stations. The two restaurants recommended at the front desk were both very good choices.

Great hotel in good location - 5 minutes walk from the train station and the old town. The staff at the reception are very helpful, friendly and professional. The staff in the breakfast room are rather slow and cold. Anyway, great breakfast, can't complain. Rooms are small but very comfy. I will definitely return to this hotel when I visit Naples next time.

An excellent hote, with great facilities & very friendly co-operative staff. We felt it was further than 200m from the railway station & found the streets extremely grubby & crowded with suspicious looking characters so did not go out at night. The hotel was a wonderful oasis & we highly recommend.

I usually chose the Best Western chain because I like to have some security about hotels. In Napoli, it was not in a safe area and the surroundings were quite dangerous

When I left the train station, I was immediately greeted by dirty, messy, crowded streets and some people who made me nervous. With that said, the proximity of this hotel is a bonus, because you don't have to walk far to reach it. The room is relatively meager, though not bad. But the complementary breakfast on the top floor is a huge bonus. Breakfast is good, and is served in a room with a view on the top of the building.

The hotel staff were terrific especially a young man J. Franco, he was so helpful and kind. The breakfast room, up on the fifth floor was very attractive and though the location, quite near the train station, was maybe a little rough, there were a couple of great restuarants very close by with wonderful food and wine.

The breakfast is served on the hotel terrase, on the 5th floor, which is really nice; rich european food. The breakfast ladies make a great coffee, they were really very kind to us, helpful and welcoming. The room was well soundproofed from the street, clean, and the facilities worked well. The hotel is close to trains (Napoli Centrale station and Circumvesuviana station)and buses. Staff was very friendly, they helped me anytime. I would stay at this hotel again.

Overall we could not have a better stay and the hotel itself is really nice and very well located. My boyfried and I had a really romantic stay. We would definittely recomend it to our friends. Just two comments regarding our stay: The breakfast is served on the terrase on the 5th floor which is really nice, clean and the food was lovely. But the view was blocked by the closed windows and curtains which was really dissapointing, this is not stated on the web site when is the Vesuv view promised. The Tea/Cofee facillities was not replenish on the daily basis and it's quite awkward to ask for some tea bags...So they should not offered at all!!!

We had our flight cancelled and I needed to let the hotel know in advance. I emailed and had a response in a very prompt time. The only problem was finding the hotel to the map we had. I think it could be improved for directions . Very close to the train station which is what we wanted and good for the money.

Great Hotel with a full breakfast and real Italian coffee...Special thanks to Olympia who who is an inspiration. The breakfast ladies make a great coffee and are helpful and welcoming..good start to the day.Free internet in our deal with connection speed that was ok. The room was well soundproofed from the street, warm, a little bit of neighboring room noise.Good water pressure in the shower and never ending hot water..Comfortable bed with good support. Napoli can be dodgy on the street so be prepared..This area is a mix of history, poverty, beauty and opportunist crime..Be aware dress like a local and have a great stay..Close to trains and buses..Well worth a stay..

Hotel was perfect for my needs-close to both Naples Centrale station and Circumvesuviana station. (I used hotel as base for trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum, etc.) Staff was quite friendly and informative. Room was clean, quiet, and all facilities worked well. Breakfast room was pleasant and the staff there were very welcoming. I would stay at this hotel again if my travels took me to Naples.

This hotel is not far from the garibardi station, but with all the luggages you wouldn't want to walk to the hotel from the station. Taxis are available but you're most likely to be ripped off as you're in napels(after all...) and it's not that kind of distance. Anyway, this was a great deal: our stay was excellent for the price!

Didn't have high expectations but the rooms were definitely adequate for a short term stay (more akin to a motel like surrounding). The location is definitely sketchy but as long as you use your judgment, don't venture out too late and night, you should be fine. It is convenient to the train station and easy to get to other parts of Naples. The front desk staff don't seem too interested in helping out although they are sufficiently friendly. Free internet computer and breakfast on the rooftop were definitely nice touches.

Though Best Western Plaza is near the train station and the surroudings are not so good, it surprisingly is quiet at night. The breakfast room is on the top floor and makes use of natural light. Breakfast is good and the hotel offers free Internet service to guests. It is good value for money. Naples is a dirty and smelly city (except the waterfront area) and certainly not a city I would like to live in.

We wer staying here only one night since we were heading off to the Amalfi coast early next morning. We didn't want to spend too much and it was a nice, clean hotel near to the train station. The air-conditioning was not working (may be because it was early April) and we had to open the door to the balcony which brought in a lto of noise (the location of this hotel is rigth at the corner of a busy street). The breakfast was good. No other major issues,.

Great hotel with lovely rooms and close to the central train station. The only down side is the slightly dodgy area but the area directly around the main railway station in most cities is like this and is to be expected. It is a compromise to be made for the convenience of close proximity to transport.

Hotel was very OK. Quiet room. Free wi-fi as stated. Breakfast half way between Italian and continental (not a lot of non sweet things selection, but I only go for sweet things therefore it was very good for me). Terrific shower! :-) Location of hotel non clearly shown on the map on the site. In the map it seems in the Station Square (Garibaldi), whereas it is in a, albeit very near, different one. Address is accurately stated though. Position is good anyway, since it is very near to the station (not more than 300m to the platforms) and centre of the city is an easy walk away (15-20 minutes of very leisure walk and you are in the middle of via dei Tribunali). Hotel staff very good. Surroundings not the best you can hope for at first, but in the end nothing to fear really, taking into account all normal precautions for Napoli (but go there, it is a fantastic city which offers much more than you foresee and with a bit of care you will have a great time). We moved freely at every hour of the day and night (well, did not try deep into the night).

The front desk staff was excellent, breakfast was generous and the room was clean. We stayed in a room with a double bed and a single (3 travelling) and it was very cramped; the room was small even for a double. But the bathroom was clean, water pressure was excellent and consistent and overall it was a great hotel. My mother is celiac and one of the front desk staff spent quite a while helping us find an excellent restaurant where she could also eat. The area is close to the train station (10mins walk), so in that respect it was great, but it's perhaps not the best area of town. Still, it's close to a lot of public transportation. We were very pleased with this hotel.

Hotel was very near to the train station and very cheap (55 euros incl breakfast) voor the service provided. Surroudings not to great (you're not in the richest part of Naples) and a little far from the city center. We went to Vesuvius and Pompeii and then you are at the good side of Naples (near trainstation). Metro, which takes you to center in minutes, is also present at trainstation. Would stay here again when arriving bij train in Naples.

I had many problems with my stay... one is it took 3 phone calls, two trips down to the front desk, and 7 hours for me to finally get a coffee. Also only one staff member spoke english (and not very well). The location is great because it is only ten minute walk from the train station, but it is not a very "safe" walk. The location would be ok if you are male... but it was not very safe for females, and it was very difficult to find. The front desk kept telling us that dinner was up stairs, but when we went up there the doors were locked and the lights were off. Overall this was a horrible hotel, and I would not recommend it.

1.It is obvious that it caters to businesspeople who only come for short stays. 2. There are no drawers for clothes, the reading lights are very low, there is very little space between bed and wall. 3. The public rooms are not inviting - plastic couches and armchairs. The service at breakfast is not very experienced. It is inconvenient to have no restaurant; however the recommended ones were OK.4.The traffic outside scary and the streets unbelievably dirty.

This was my first time visiting Naples but I have travelled to Italy many times. I was very worried about going to Naples as i was going to be alone with my three year old son, having read the comments on the city. However I had no problems at all here. I was in the city with my son after midnight and like every large city in the world I felt safe but you need to apply common sence. I would encourage people to visit here and not to believe all the bad press. This hotel is very central and handy for public transport.

Wonderful hotel. Very welcoming, competent, and helpful employees. Great breakfast on rooftop location with a super view. Our room was new and spotless and the windows were sound proof. However, we keep our windows open to the piazza below to hear the wonderful sounds of European cities. There was also some interesting acivity going on in the piazza below (more entertaining than television). So do be careful- although I think they were mostly conducting their business in a manner that would not affect hotel guests (I happen to love to people watch). The walk from the train station was very doable, although watch your wallet. If you need a clean fresh hotel close to the train station this one is it (as long as you do not mind the colorful activities going on in this area)

While the inside of this hotel was nice and comfortable, the outside was not. I was robbed right across the street from the hotel. I also noticed the prostitutes hanging out in the same plaza right outside the hotel. It is near the train/bus station, which is a plus, but one must determine if proximity is worth the risk of staying in a poor area. Also, I found the staff a little put off any time I asked a question, like they were too busy with other things.

We stayed only one night at the Plaza and in Naples but enjoyed our time there very much. The Hotel is very conveniently located an easy 5 minute walk from the main train station Centrale). It is in a bustling central area of Naples just a block from Piazza Garibaldi and although it is noisy during the day and early evening, the streets quiet down at night. The triple pane windows work beautifully to keep out much of the street noise at all times. The hotel was very clean with relatively spacious modern rooms. The staff, while speaking only halting english was eager to help and was able to answer all of our needs. Breakfast was simple but good and is served in an upper story with lovely views of the city in three directions. We did not feel that the area was in any way unsavory but certainly brimming with life and we would heartily recommend the Plaza to anyone.

Clean convienient hotel for the station but no real character. Rooms a little on the small side but useful for a stopover.

Others travelling with us paid more for a lesser room. Learn basic italian, front desk staff were a bit snooty because my Italian was poor.

Naples is a beautiful city full of lunatics and this hotel is fantastic but in a hellhole of a location. Its an immigrant area with piles of rubbish everywhere. It didn`t seem threatening but it wasn`t nice to walk around. If you come just to vist Pompeii etc then its perfect as the train is only 5 mins walk but if you want to visit the city its better to stay in the bay area. The rooms are large, clean, well-equipped and breakfast on the roof terrace was a great way to start the day. Great hotel, wrong place.

Would recommend the Plaza to anyone. Staff and hotel were excellent and even allowed us to check in about 5 hours early with no charge despite being fully booked the night before. The area surrounding the hotel is not as nice as some parts of Napoli but this is compensated by the hotel making it an excellent hotel choice especially if travelling from the train station and the port which are both very nearby.

This is a good hotel for those who want to stay in the stazione area of Naples--a raucous but fascinating area! The staff initially seem a little unfriendly, but are in my experience competent and honest.

This is an excellent value hotel. Very modern, very clean and friendly. The only drawback - depending on why you go to Naples - is the location. The location is nice enough but if you are going as a tourist, its maybe a little away from the buzz and tourist areas or port. We did a lot of walking as if you have been to Naples before, taxis, cars and busses in the centre are not very practical as it so hot and busy. Its very close to train station and the airport is only 15 Euros by taxi.

Together with my girlfriend, I stayed one Saturday night in July 2004 in hotel Plaza. The hotel is easily reachable from the train station, but pay attention when you cross the station square, or you will get robbed. As previous commenters noted, it is true that the hotel is located in a bad zone (Piazza Garibaldi): if you want to reach a better zone, you have to cross half Naples: not to be done by night. So after a day of sightseeing, we decided to stay in for the night and just went out for an evening meal in a nearby restaurant. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and beautifully lit, with airco, safe, tv and minibar, also the bathroom is ok (shower, toilet and washbasin). Only minus is that you can't open the window shutters. (maybe better, because the panorama would be ugly). We didn't take breakfast (other priorities ;-)), so can't judge upon that. Check-out time is noon. People at reception were professional, but they forgot to tell us how breakfast was regulated...

A very comfortable and welcoming hotel and an oasis in manic Naples. It is near the Garabaldi metro so transport is convenient. It is however situated in the commercial district of Naples and difficult to get around other than by trains. Nonetheless, great value for money and comfort. The view however is pretty appauling and they have sealed up all the windows, so be prepared for a lack of natural daylight.

I've been travelling to Italy for more than ten years now and this is definitely one of the better hotels I ever had (in this category). One could even say that it isn't typically italian, because of the surprising cleanliness, spaciousness and the low noise level of our double room (facing a heavy traffic place!). Obviously, the hotel was very well renovated. P.S: don't buy any electronic device on the black market (=main streets) of Naples, they will betray you in any case!!

The hotel is in a very dangerous part of Naples. We arrived at about 9pm and the streets looked like something out of a war zone. When we went to find out where to park the car etc we made sure everything was taken out of the car that would move! One of the hotel attendants took us to some secure parking which was 15 euros. They took the keys and parked the car and when we picked it up in the morning after passing an ambulance taking away a body found that it had been rifled through (although not damaged) and some things taken. However it was not something you would discuss and live1 The hotel was clean and appeared secure but we would not visit again and definately not with a child. Too scary an area to be believed once the sun went down. The breakfast was a eat all you can buffet which was fine but is was down in the basement which smelled terribly of damp. If you are a business man probably ok.

The hotel had just been refurbished very contempory & therefore it was very clean. The staff were very flexible as we wanted to change our initial reservation when we arrived. Initially there were 4 of us so we had 2 adjoining rooms.Later during our stay One member of our party left early so when we asked for a room for 3 people they just added a camp bed to the larger of the adjoning rooms. I did make a comment at check out and they did reduce our rate and just charged us for 2 instead of 3.Could not fault the customer service. The area was however a little unplesent and seedy a bit like Kings Coss in London.
