Was a good experience. The staff were friendly and the room cleaning service was thorough. When asked for a different room with a double bed instead of 2 singles they were very accommodating. The location is good as you can walk to some areas and it's close to 2 metro stations. The only caveat is trying to find the first time! Once you know where it is it is simple :)

Lovely Museum-hotel in the centre of Madrid - short walk to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol squares, very convenient location; great service, quiet environment, beatiful art and design. Stayed there more than once, would stay again and recommend to others.

Small but adequate room for two day stopover in Madrid. Bathroom spacious. Non-smoking meant non-smoking. Not over-heated for winter, just comfortable. Truly very helpful staff. 15- 20 minutes stroll to Puerto del Sol. Eateries nearby. Noise was a minor problem: our room on the sidestreet suffered traffic noise, including service vehicles in the early morning, even though it was winter and the windows are double-glazed. Interior sound-proofing was not great either.

Our stay at Best Western Premier Santo Domingo was generally good, however some small changes could make a large positive. First, I noticed debris and a general seedy appearance at the front door. (Renovation was going on next door, so perhaps this is not a permanent debri filled entrance). In our room, curtains were off the rod, and should have been corrected. I remember reading this from a previous guest. Furniture in the reception area is becoming worn looking and needs attention if the hotel wants to earn and keep its 4 star rating. The young women at the reception desk were excellent, the location is good and our stay was comfortable. My comments regarding the improvements come as an honest attempt at providing good feedback to the hotel.

The entrance of the hotel... you could hardly see it from the street, and the steps going up the entrance to the lobby is quite daunting, especially if you have luggage. No one was at the door or checking the door for new guests. I have been to Madrid 3 times.

Initially when arriving at the Metro stop Santo Domingo across from the hotel, we were a bit unsure where the hotel actually was. A few of the buildings in the area seem to be under development, and so have covers and scaffolding etc. Within 1 minute we realised it is literally across from the stop, so problem sorted. At first the area the hotel is in at first is a bit confusing as the area is more business like then what I expected, however, after the first day, you realize you’re quite central in relation to Opera and Sol (where there are loads of cafes and shops) and the rest of the Madrid centre. Having the Santo Domingo Metro stop outside made life a lot easier, as it is hardly ever busy as it is not a main stop, so we could jump on and off without to much effort. Also being on the red line it is quite a good connection to everything else. But as mentioned, Opera and Sol are in walking distance (Opera 5 minutes, Sol 10-15) once you get your bearings. Also around the corner were a number of little shops, which were a god send for picking up water/snacks before going back to the hotel room. As for the hotel, I couldn’t really ask for anything more. It wasn’t too expensive, and the service was top notch. The room wasn’t massive, but that’s what I booked, but it had more than enough room for two people. The bathroom was also top notch. Overall really clean and tidy in the rooms and in the building itself. We didn’t try room service, but we had the breakfast once, which was a quite nice continental spread. However, I would say it is worth trying once, but there are a lot of cafes nearby which would probably work out cheaper (13 euros for the breakfast with tax per person). The reception is 24 hours, which was really useful as our flight was at 6:30 AM with Ryan-air. I couldn’t ask for anything better, as the person who checked us out was really helpful, even with booking the Taxi (requested earlier).

My father and I arrived on a Monday evening after a long flight from California via Frankfurt. We were exhausted and hungry. The receptionist was very kind. He spoke English, a big plus! Quickly checked us in, we were in our room in less than half an hour. Near to the hotel were outdoor cafes so we were able to go down for a quick bite. The room and bathroom were spacious enough and very clean. We enjoyed our stay so much that we made another reservation for that friday that we returned to Madrid. Also made a third reservation for our last two nights in Madrid. The breakfast offered by the hotel was also great!

Very good position, good hotel and good breakfast (to pay separatly), but the room was not so big and something used to wash was just for one person also the room was for two. In complex good ratio quality/price.

the walls were very thin - we could hear conversations from several neighboring rooms. Breakfast, while nice, was not included in the room price and was too expensive compared to other hotels in the area. Staff was competant but not friendly nor overly helpful. The location is very convenient - across the street from the metro station and within easy walking distance of major attractions.

Hotel is in a great location. It is near a large shopping district filled with cafes and restaurants and other businesses. The metro is actually two steps away in front of the hotel. Other than the noise factor. The walls in the hotel were thin and the rooms were small. The hotel had everything you needed.

The hotel was cosy and nice to come home to at the end of the day. The location was good - v. close to a metro station and a 10 minute walk down to the Plaza Mayor. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. The spa bath in the bathroom worked too!
