Best Western Hotel Los Condes - Madrid

Arrival was ok, shuttle from the airport ok €12.00c The room was outragous, so small you could lay on the bed one side and reach out and touch the wall, same on the other side of the bed. As soon as you entered the room you started shuffling. You had to have the light on the whole time you stayed in the room. The window looked out onto a while wall about 6 feet away and the only light was daylight filtering down the white wall and bouncing into the room. No one should be offered this room 112, and why can't the web sites say "no direct daylight" I had to go to meetings, how are you supose to get dressed in conditions like this. Forget the breakfast, I am not a fan of McD's however for €2.95c their breakafst roll and coffee was fine just round the corner on Gran Via. When you walk from the hotel to Grand Via the young guy running the news stand is an angel and so helpful. The room is so depressing and the WiFi breaks down. Just don't stay there, I did ask if they had larger rooms and they said this is what you get with a single room, no effort to help at all. I realise now why rooms in older hotels in big cities are like this. No one building hotels these days would include "single" rooms. I think the reason these rooms are so small is that when these buildings were build maybe sometime before the war even, there was maybe 2 bathrooms PER FLOOR, nothing en-suite. And when customers were demanding en-suite it was not possible to ADD to the rooms so they reduced the size by building the bathroom and toilet in the space in the room they had available. Do check other hotels out this Hotel should never be called a Best Western Hotel. It is a disaster. RICHARD

Hotel in great central location on a quiet street. Friendly and helpful staff and pleasant room.

My room was perpetually dark; and although clean, felt more like a glorified backroom than a hotel. There was only a tiny window which looked out into nothing, and could not latch completely. In-room music could not be entirely switched off, and the breakfast is dismal and overpriced.

We had a very nice stay at Los Condes, the rooms where clean and the hotel is very nicely located.

Perfect location, 1 minute walk from Grand Via and 2 minutes from subway. This area is perfect you can walk everywhere. The hotel is on the left side up the street, tucked behind a bend. Very clean, spacious, big windows and nice decor. OUr shower head was loose so we got creative and tied it! Internet in the lounge didn't work one day...no big deal, we're on vacation anyways. Staff were very helpful and informative and spoke English very well. Also very secure, there is a security guard that lets you in when you return in the wee hours of the night! Fell in love with Madrid!

Typical cheap hotel, though pretending to be better than it is. location is good. if you want something very basic -- you'll be happy there.

Unfortunately, the room was extremely small (ca. 8 sqm bath included) and the air conditioning worked rather badly.

It´s a very solid solution to stay central in Madrid. We have restaurants and cofffes(including MacDonalds) and a lot of car parking (including long stay parking) that can be pointed by the hotel staff.

Hotel was in a great location close to the Gran Via. Staff were most helpful with directions, recommendations for restaurants etc. Very reasonably priced.

I follow Venere web instructions to reach the hotel and We easly arrive using the local underground metro (2 Euro per person)in about 40 minutes from the airport. The hotel is about 100 metres from Callao station and 50 metres from Gran Via. We staied 3 days in Madrid and they are enough to visit the principal point of interest. Gently personnel in the hotel and quiet atmosphere. Very satisfied.

Some reception staff, though helpful, were rather glum. Comfy bed and room generally quiet, though disturbed by night staff's loud talking one night. Limited choice at breakfast. Rather dingy back-street location though very convenient for Metro and restaurants. Tea/coffee availablbe only from reception in evening 0 no facilities in room as claimed. Slightly disappointing for a Bewt Western hotel.

We stayed 4 nights our room was at street level very noisey. it was right in the middle of everything though and close to metro. we did not get a double room as booked and did not find the reception that friendly but andre who del our tea each night(not supplied in room)was great.

I stayed for one night as a solo female traveller, and the hotel was perfectly adequate for my needs. They have internet access on the ground floor but only one computer (wireless is available but extremely expensive). The rooms are very small, but this is to be expected in any major European city! I had ample space for myself, but two people would have been a squeeze! Breakfast is not included, but there are plenty of cafes in the area. The hotel is in one of the side streets off the busy Gran Via; it was hard to find at first and the street looks a little on the dodgy side, but I did not run into any problems (but having said that, I didn't go out at night). It is within easy walking distance to major tourist attractions. Overall, reasonable value for money.

A quiet and comfortable hotel, placed between Callao and Plaza d'Espana. The staff was very kind and helpful. No breakfast but it's very easy to find good bars nearby

Staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Our room was reasonably well spaced, clean - and the air con worked. We were on the top floor so heard next to no noise from inside the hotel. Breakfast was not included in our booking so we are unable to comment on the quality of this. This hotel is situated in an excellent central location, on a quiet street off the Gran Via.

Very nice hotel, clean and quiet, nice staff, very well located, walking distance from Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. If I return to Madrid I will stay in this hotel again. Breakfast was not included but there are many places on the sorroundings with low prices and nice food.
