Best Western Grand Hotel Guinigi - Lucca

The hotel was convenient for staying in Lucca when travelling by car with good parking. Whilst clearly geared at business travellers, it was well equipped including free wifi and the breakfast was good.

We stayed five days at the The Giunigi Grand Hotel. It is is is a very good 4-star Hotel. Nice, spacious and clean rooms. Gratis WLAN. Very good food and wine against reasonable prices. (Where can you have a good regional wine for 7 euros a bottle). Bus to go to the city-center stops in front of the hotel. In spite of our having a room at the side of the very busy Via Romana, the noise of the traffic could hardly be heard. Very good and friendly service. Only disadvantage the surroundings of the hotel are not very attractive.

Staff at desk were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good and again staff were very helpful and efficient.

Excellent hotel with good quality/price ratio. Only drawback was that WiFi was not availble in my room (4th floor), this service was only availble at the front office lounge. Also, parking area is missing some shadow. As the road has no pavement, a car is needed to go from the hotel to the city although there are only about 2 km between them. Breakfast was excellent. Certainly a place I would return to if I can.

I travelled with my girlfriend , we found a very good hotel to spend a day in tuscany. The hotel was very clean.

Very nice hotel 12 miniutes from Lucca. Easy parking- lots of space., good breakfast. When going into Lucca remember to park legally, probably best outside the walls.

The hotel seemed focused more on corporate clients than on individuals, but they were certainly able and capable in handling the overnight guest. The premises were spotless, food was delicious and nicely presented both at breakfast and dinner -- and at the lobby bar, where we spent a very pleasant hour before dinner, enjoying a marvelous spread of hors-d'oeurvres and the conversation of the friendly, outgoing bartender. Hotel Guinigi is outside the walls of the historic city, but the walk is only 30 minutes, a good stretch after the long drive to get there. The only negative, and a very personal one from the technologically impaired, is that the point of internet access was our TV in the room and a dedicated keyboard. We enjoyed our stay in this spacious rooms. appreciated the non smoking areas. our room was located in front of the building - the road is very busy (noisy) and we felt that the waterfountain could be stopped at night; we are used to have the windows open at night, but with this noise it was not possible. But.. all in all we really enjoyed this hotel.

Ottimo Hotel, un pò fuori mano rispetto al centro di Lucca.

This is a Best Western business traveller type hotel and as such is equipped to fairly high standards. Rooms were good, breakfast plentiful and we got a free drink on arrival. Only problem is the location as indicated by Venere, definitely over a mile down Via Roma outside the city limits, certainly not where indicated on the maps provided. Get a taxi if arriving by train, it's a 40 minute walk at least.

A perfectly good modern hotel with easy access to the historical centre of Lucca. It was however rather characterless and, compared with other more attractive places we stayed in elsewhere in Tuscany, somewhat expensive.
