Hotel Best Western Christina - Lourdes

Really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. Staff were always friendly and welcoming. Resturant staff must be given a special mention. Would be happy to recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a nice Hotel to relax in.

My first stay here was in Sept 2001. Thus now in Oct 2009 this was my first choice cause my last stay was good. The current front office staff are polite. But unlike the last time,this time round I had to wait at the reception cause the room was not ready, though I had arrived at 2pm. I was given room 705, its a beautiful room with the view of the flowing river and the area. On the first night the heater in the room was working, on the second night it did not work at all & had to sleep with the cold. I told the reception person about the heater not working. After 10 minutes 2 people came to check the issue and said it would be solved in 2 minutes, but that did not happen. I waited for 1 hr and called back again, and got one of the men ( ERIC ) who had come to check the problem earlier. He said sorry the boss has taken the keys with him and gone home, & he cannot check anything now. He was polite to offer additional blankets. It was 11pm by now. Here is some feedback - He could be offered us another room where the heater was working - this is basic courtesy, when the weather outside is very cold. Eric was polite to offer blankets, but they did not arrive. And initially when then came to check the room and said it will work in 2 minutes, then I expect to have a follow up call from them to see if it is really working in 2 minutes. This part of the heater not working on the second night of my stay is not a pleasant feeling at all. There is scope for service quality at this hotel. The breakfast served is good - however on both the days ( 8.30am & 6.50am ) the tables were not layed for guests to have breakfast. I had to ask for basic things from the staff. Though the hotel says that breakfast is available at 6.30am - Here is some scope for improvement. The front office was prompt in having my taxi booked for my checkout at 7am, this is good. This is a good hotel over all & if I get an opportunity to visit Lourdes again, I shall certainly stay at this hotel provided I get

We travel to Lourdes at least 3 times a year. So we tried several hotels, from 2 stars to 4 stars luxe (Grand hotel de la grotte, the worst experience). Up to now, we did not find something correct for affordable price. Most of the hotels in Lourdes are old, noisy and with poor breakfeast (out of date french style). But, for the time being, Christina offered the best rate price/quality. The hotel is at a 5 mn walk from the sanctuaries. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is ok with a refreshing view to the river, the castle and the Pyrenees. There is a free parking the other side of the river, on the right hand side of the road, 200 meters from the hotel. (front desk did not give the information). No free internet. We may return there.

We arrived by bus very late and the night porter made us feel so welcome. i had my key and was in my room in a matter of minutes which, since it was almost 1AM, was very appreciated. he also had breakfast ready for those who wanted it even though we were leaving more than an hour before the normal time for breakfast. all of those services were very much appreciated. i will definitely stay there on my next pilgrimage to Lourdes
