Best Western Hotel Du Casino Le Phoebus - Gruissan

Too expensive for an hotel that need refurbishement. breakfast is extra expensive

Quiet location by lake but our room looked onto holiday flats. Bit far out but easy 10 min walk to Marina and 15 min to quaint old town. Restaurant fine & breakfast buffet good. Really need tea/coffee facilities in room but receptionist very helpful providing hot water, milk etc. Biggest disappointment was rooms & especially bathroom were tatty, showing signs of wear, scuffed paint etc. Towels were old & worn. Bathroom floor would have been better tiled. With a little effort room could have been much more pleasant. Pool was available on request & was very nice to swim in, though again the surrounds needed a bit of attention. General tattiness took edge off what could be very pleasant location.

Our stay at the Hotel du Casino was very pleasant. However, our room was not ready until 45 minutes after the specified time, which was a little poor as we were tired and hot and had driven a long way. We also wanted to use the pool on Sunday morning but again this was not opened until almost 10.30am (advertised as 10am). We asked the female receptionist but she did not appear to be concerned that the gates were still locked at 10.20 and although she could see us waiting for almost 30 minutes she did not contact the pool staff to find out why clients were unable to access the pool area. For this reason I have not given a very good rating on your questionnaire. In all other respects our stay was good, although the hotel needs a bar!!

It is the second year we were in Le Phoebus, and for sure we recomed it. The overview outside maybe is not from a very luxurius hotel, but the quality of the room and breakfast is really good. To be honest, last year were in an standard room and this one in a Privilege, and except the view to the lake, we prefer the standard one. Except this appreciation, all our experience is very good.
