Good overnighter for flight out of Fiumicino...low cost, good shuttle (6 euro)..just a room, clean, small. Nice beachfront...get there early, go for a long beach walk & meal at one of many restaurants on the beach. Do your morning run on the beach...nice. Not easy to find,so bring your Garmin or print out some detailed maps.

Cosy business hotel. Stairs to hotel too many steps for heavy luggage carrying guests. Villa -like hotel. Quiet. Free wifi. Value for money and 20 mins shuttle which comes on the dot. However the directions to waiting area for bus at the base of Emprio Armada building should be made more clear. Perhaps a map would be useful. Waited on wrong side and missed shuttle.

This is the second time I have tried staying close to the airport and I have to say that it just isn't for me so my review may be biased. The neighborhoods near the airport just aren't that nice and this hotel just isn't that great. If you are looking for an average place to stay close to the airport (10 minute shuttle) than I guess it is okay but beyond that there isn't much to say about this place. Worst part is the noise level, could hear everything.

One of the workers recommended a fantastic restaurant a short walk from the hotel- which was very helpful during our brief stay. It's close to the airport, though you have to take a taxi (17 Euros for 3 people) and the shuttle is 6 Euros per person. We missed the evening shuttle as we arrived too late, but getting a taxi was not a problem.

We stayed at the hotel on the last night of a holiday before flying back to the UK. The room was very small but just adequate. Frankly we expected better from Best Western. The breakfast was aweful, very limited fruit and cereals, scrambled eggs totally cold and drinks poor quality. We were very disappointed and it spoilt the end of our holiday. Overpriced, we had better at half the price

This hotel is fine for one night prior to a departure from Fiumicino airport. In the breakfast room, there is a computer with printer available for printing boarding passes, which is convenient. Staff was helpful in recommending a restaurant, but not very friendly. The area around the hotel is a bit run down.

I believe we had a closet with a bed close to the reservation area! But for a night before leaving Italy, not unbearable. The location of the hotel is quite misleading indicating it is close to the airport. Well, it is, except trying to get there took several hours with only a few taxis going to Fiumicino. Nice restaurants about a 10 minute walk to the beach but no tourist sites.

We stayed here after a 10 day cruise and wanted to stay close to the airport. The clerk that was at the desk was very unfriendly and treated us as if we were bothersome. He was rude and did not want to spend time answering our questions about elevator in building or restaurant recommendations. We received poor and unwelcoming reception.

Overnight stopover for Fumicino Airport - would appear to be so for many of the clientele. Not the most appealing of areas and the hotel stands out as a building well cared for - it is however an area where one felt safe returning from dining in the late evening. Good restaurant nearby recommended by hotel and well appreciated by us.

In traveling Europe, you get used to small rooms [as a family of 4..] and cots or pull-out couches. We stayed here on our last night so that we would be near the airport [Fiumicino] for our departure the next day. We requested a 4 person room & they gave us a wonderfully spacious "penthouse" style suite- with a king size bed, a twin bed & a pull-out couch [which wasn't TOO uncomfortable]. The hotel had pretty nice views of the Mediterranean, nice terraces & patios, a good breakfast, free WiFi [which can be rare in Italy] and great service. The staff was very helpful too! If you have an hour or so to kill, say, before your flight, go visit Ostia Antica [not on Mondays- closed], it is an ancient Roman town, like Pompei but better preserved.. It's only 10 minutes from the hotel and 20 from Fiumicino Airport.

The area seems to be one in transition. Lots of boarded up housing. May be better in July & August. A bit of a ghost town. Mattresses just slightly softer than sleeping on the floor, pillow thin and cheap like matresses. Can here everyone coming and going. Valerio was delightful.

Very welcoming and quick to answer any questions. Only 15 minutes from the airport. Great location for walks along the beach at sunset, but not close to the town center for dining out choices. The one restaurant around the corner was a very decent one though. Morning breakfast choices better than the other hotels we stayed at while in Italy. Free internet access point and wi-fi.

Hotel is just a short walk from beach and restaurants. A couple of km to Fiumicino center. Shuttle service is available to and from airport, if needed, and for a fee of 6 euro per person. Private gated free parking on the hotel property. Room was basic but clean and adequate for our needs.

I stayed overnight to be near the airport for my flight home the following morning. The shuttle service was excellent, convenient and prompt. The staff was very friendly and loaned me a beater bicycle to get some excercise and ride back to the Fiumicino port area to take some photographs late in the afternoon. I thought the rate was a little pricey for the season but it was worth it to be located so close to the airport, approximately 12-15 minutes by shuttle.

Perfect for night before departure, as well as few days near the shore (1 block). Hotel was clean and breakfast was best we had on trip. Hotel staff gave recommendations for area restaurants within walking distance. 10 minute cab or shuttle to FCO. Traveling with four was able to get cab from Rome for about 60euros. I would use again before departure.

We stayed one night in Summer 2009 to be close to the airport. I don't know about all the rooms, but we had room 501 a quadruple on the top floor. It was fab! The sea is minutes away (nice bonus on the last day of our holiday) there is a lovely terrace with sea views all around and the room was spacious, clean and cool. Staff were helpful and bi-lingual - told us of a lovely little non expensive pizzeria down the back streets. The breakfast wasn't brilliant, but it was standard continental fare. It was very close to the airport - 10 mins in the car, but do use a Sat Nav to get to the hotel if you have one, as it is hard to find - down back streets. We would certainly stay there again. If you have a family ask for room 501 - plenty of space, lovely views. Highly recommended and we paid a fraction of the room rate quoted at the hotel going through this website.

The hotel itself was fine, and its location within shuttle distance of the Fiumicino/Rome airport was the reason we chose it. However, I was surprised to find that the shuttle was not free. Maybe I had just remembered incorrectly, maybe it's just not clear on the website. At the time of year that we went to this hotel, there was very little choice of restaurants anywhere near the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our flight was so early that we were going to miss breakfast, but the receptionist fixed us a little bag of breakfast items that we could have to eat the next morning.

The staff was very friendly and it's just a block away from a nice beach and a couple restaurants. The breakfast bar was a great continental buffet, the best we had our whole vacation. The shuttle to/from the airport costs more than taking a taxi, though finding the hotel without a GPS navigating system would be nearly impossible.

Even with Mapquest directions, the hotel was almost impossible to find at night. The area is densely populated, honeycombed with bumpy narrow streets that are heavily traveled, and the street signs hard to read. The hotel itself is very basic, set, as the reviews indicated, in a residential area. Since it's only two blocks from the Fumicino boardwalk, we assumed that the neighboring houses were mostly modest beach town second homes. The hotel is being very slowly renovated, probably on an inadequate budget, so, for instance, the hallway leading to our room had no ceiling and was a tangle of exposed electrical wires and pipes. The room, though small, had been renovated and was fine for one night. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, there were reading lights adjacent to the pillows, and the bathroom wasn't too bad, clean with new tiling. Breakfast was dreadful. There is a locked car park, though so crammed with cars it wasn't easy to find a spot. The next morning we were able to find the airport easily -- sineage was good. Without knowing more about the competition, it's hard to rate this hotel, but I don't suppose we'd go out of our way to stay there again. One tip: I had read multiple reviews of the place, so when the desk clerk tried to give us the noisy room right next to reception, I refused it and got a better one on the second floor.

We stayed only 1 night because of a very early morning flight. We reserved a room for 3 people. It was very, very small and cramped and was VERY overpriced for the room amenities. When we made the reservation we were told there was shuttle service available, but could not get shuttle service upon our arrival. The hotel did make arrangements for shuttle service to the airport the next day. We were charged 25 Euros.

Hotel was well located if one wants the beach but was far from the city centre and good restaurants -- which is what we wanted. Otherwise fine for airport, with own shuttle service at fair price. However, the first room they gave us was tiny and had no windows; luckily they weren't full so could switch us; that room was acceptable but not great. Next time I would stay again at one of the more modern motels in preference to the Riviera.

Right from the beginning we had problems with the electronic key of the room and we had to change room and we were told it was in one floor when it wasn't. Then we were asked to pay 5 euros for the parking spots, when on the website (and in the brochure) was advertised as free parking (finally we didn't pay, so I suppose it was just one of the hotel employees who wanted "to gain something"on his own). The following day our key didn't open the door so we needed help from the staffagain: it was their fault because they hadn't memorized the room change. The girl for the breakfast was pretty clueless and if you're in hurry I'm not sure you can have your coffee/tea on time! The food wasn't bad, but I've been in many other 3 stars hotels which offered a lot more stuff! The last day we asked two bills and two receipts for our staying and it seemed to be a very difficult operation for the desk employee which required to force the informatic system! I've never met so many clueless people all at once in my life!

Very comfortable, quiet hotel near the airport. Great if you are arriving at an odd hour [4 am] and can't leave luggage at left lugage at ariport. Not so great if you want to go to Rome every day as that becomes expensive; hotel taxi 60E each way. There are things to see or do nearby eg Ostia. One of our two rooms was available on arrival at 6 am and the other within an hour. Close to beach. If you are just in transit in rome, and /or want a qiuet break you can get that here. there is no restuarant but many within walking distance. Good breakfast selection in morning. The staff mostly speak English and were extremely helpful.

Not an easy connection to/from Rome. Confusing to get to from the airport - of renting a car. The hotel is not a 3-star property in my opinion and the price was way too high for it. I felt dissapointed when I saw it. The receptionists were great - that helped. What saved my stay was a sunny day so we could stay at the beach. The sarrounding is safe, but dissapointing neighbourhood.

There are varying views of this property on-line and this may reflect the fact that some rooms have been renovated and some have not. We had a renovated room and it was clean, reasonably spacious (for Europe), a comfortable bed, a huge balcony (no furniture unfortunately) and with a completely up-to-date bathroom. So I recommend that future guests request a renovated room. The breakfast was typical continental with fast service (nothing special but very accepable). It was a friendly comfortable place to spend a night before or after a flight to the airport in Fiumicino. I found the price/quality ratio to be good. The fellow at the front desk spoke excellent English and recommended a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance. The neighbourhood is residental so it is quite quiet at night but the beach is just two block away so there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity. I imagine that this is a place where locals from Rome have their "summer places". We did not use the shuttle.

We stayed in Riviera overnight awaiting an early morning flight. The shuttle did provide pickup from FCO. However, we had a very early flight and had to get taxi back to FCO. Riviera staff did order taxi. It was raining when we arrived and there was no food service available unless we were willing to walk several blocks in the dark and rain, which did not seem the safest thing. Our room was right off the reception area and we were disturbed all night by phone rings, alarms and talking as other guests interacted with the receptionist.

This hotel says it provides a shuttle bus between it and Fiumicino airport - the main reason for our stay here as we had to get a very early flight in the morning. However, on arrival at Fiumicino at 4.30 p.m.on Friday, we called for the shuttle bus only to be told we would have to wait till 5.40 p.m. to be collected (they said their service started from 5.00 p.m.) They showed up at 5.50 p.m. The service is also not available before 6.00 a.m. in the morning. This shuttle only runs between certain limited times each day. However, the hotel did organize a taxi for us for the early a.m. which we appreciated (20 euros taxi fare). This shuttle is of little use to hotel users when it operates during very limited hours and not at all during the afternoon 'siesta'. There is no real reason to stay at Fiumicino other than its proximity to the airport. Thus, travellers should expect to pay many euros from unscrupulous taxi drivers at Rome's airport.... neither a good start nor end to a vacation.

We came into the train station at the airport from Rome, the hotel web page said there was a shuttle from 5:30 to 8m......... after an hour we finally called the hotel and the shuttle was sent..... the van was too small....... we got to the hotel 1.7 hours after we got to the shuttle pick-up place....... the hotel staff was not sympathetic and told us we should have called for the shuttle (not explained on the website), one other couple also waited for almost 2 hours. The hotel also lost one of our reservations and we had to prove the rate from emails we fortunately had. They also gave us poor directions to the rooms, floor 1 is below floor 3 and 4! Night time staff person was very pleasant... Shower was welcome (enclosed)..... Lotsa wasted time. Taxi at 6am to airport cost $26 Euros for 4 miles......... way too much!!!!! Next time we'll stay at the airport hotel and save time and money and frustration......... Worst experience of 7 hotels on our 11 day trip ..

Coming from the Airport to the Hotel was a big problem. We spent more than an hour with taxidrivers who wouldn´t drive us because it was a short trip, a shuttlebus that wasn´t available anyway and last a local taxi charging us 20 Euro for a 6 km drive (which I suppose is not the normal price). The information given to us was inadequate and reading on the homepage that there is a shuttlebus available didn´t help us much, when it wasn´t available anyway.

We stayed here one night. Our rooms were on separated by three floors. Shuttle cost 15Euro each way from airport. Hotel shuttle not very timely. We asked for 0730 and it showed around 0750. Had to keep my windows open as the sewage smell coming from the drains was horrible. I won't stay here again for the amount we paid (110 Euro per room)

This hotel was in a very ugly neighbourhood. We were in Italy for 2 weeks stayed in 2* hotels and loved them all. This was a 3* and we did not like it. Although the room was clean and spacious it was very noisy. The air conditioning was not turned on yet and with the windows open the dogs were barking, the cats and people were screaming. The building is ugly as well as the common areas and it is in a residential area. The breakfast was terrible. With all the delicious bread and pastry available in Italy we were served mushy dinner rolls. Since we rated all our other hotels excellent I believe we are being reasonable. I would not recommend this hotel. I think you can do better for that money. Very close to airport.

If you have other choices to stay in another hotel"near" the airport,do it! For the price we paid for a room that doesn´t have at least a curtain in the shower ,we will stay in the future in another hotel for sure. Is not that close from the airport and taxis will charge you 25-30 euros(if you find one that wants to take you there(all taxis wants to take a client to Rome to get 50-60 euros for the trip)

The people were well informed and very helpful. The accommodation for us and our dogs was excellent. We had the room on the ground floor available for anyone with special requirements. NMy brother and his wife had a smaller room, which they thought was v. good value for money, centrally situated and highly recommended. Pompei itself is worth a visit quite apart from the excavations.

This hotel was OK for spending a night before flying out the next morning. There was a shuttle service (for a 12 euros fee for two people) to Leonardo da Vinci airport. The rooms (our group of 4 had two rooms) were super clean and well appointed. The rooms (and hotel) were quite new. The lobby and common area was comfortable. A nice breakfast (continental - cereals, pastry, yogurt, juices, etc.) was included in the room price (90 Euros per room + 12 Euros for the airport shuttle for two of us). There was a FREE high-speed Internet computer for guests to use in the common area. This was a nice perk for us as we check our e-mails regularly while on vacation. Our only complaint would be that the rooms were not very sound-proof. Although we couldn't hear noise from other rooms, you could definitely hear everything out in the hallway, including the guests who were leaving at 5 am to catch an early-morning flight. Also, the hotel is sort of in the middle of nowhere. There are a few restaurants a 10 minute walk from the hotel (right on the ocean) but that's about it. Again, good if you're just staying overnight.

Little expensive for off season, and we had to beg them to send the shuttle to the Airport, but the rooms are great, brand new building, and friendly staff. Shuttle is $6 each to-from the airport.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Riviera. The staff at the front desk was most helpful in answering our questions and directing us to locations of interest. The continental breakfast was excellent and the shuttle sevice very convenient. Is there a frequent guest program?

Riviera is a good price. Rooms are typical european....the bed was actually more comfortable than other hotels we stayed at. Our room was in the main courtyard, so we always heard when people were around. We enjoyed the free internet usage, the beautiful beach just 500 feet away (literally a half a block), and the staff was very nice. We spent 20 euros on a taxi to get to the hotel from the Fumicino Airport, to get back to the airport we used the hotel shuttle (10 euros per room). Good quality and location for relaxation...the price was one of the cheapest we had on our trip to Rome!

We emailed the hotel for airport pickup, they have a shuttle, but none was sent. The walls in the hotel are extremely thin and you can hear all the comings and goings at all hours of the day and nite. Breakfast is satisfactory. There was no porter to help with our luggage and you have to climb about 7 steps up to get in the door. One of the guests helped us. Cost of a taxi from the airport to the hotel is 17 euros, not bad for Rome

I was very pleased with the hotel, which was very clean, had a decent buffet breakfast, and helpful & friendly service. My first night there at the beginning of my trip was fine, but my stay there on the last night was very noisy, and I recommend that you make sure you do not get the room on the first level, close to the door that leads to their parking lot. This heavy door slammed loudly early in the morning with people taking their suitcases out to their cars. The door needed to have something on it that softened the shutting of the door. The noise also carried between rooms such that, at 4 a.m., you could hear hairdryers being used in nearby rooms. The breakfast was enjoyable, and you could get a good capuchino. Other than the noise, it was a pleasant stay. I stayed the first night on my own, as my travelling companions were arriving the following morning, and I walked on the sidewalk along the beach. There were several options for dinner close to the hotel. On our return we asked for a room for 3, and although we asked for 3 beds, they could only provide a double and a single bed (which is probably not too unusual).

We found the hotel very friendly and accommodating. They were willing to take us to the airport a half hour earlier than the normal schuttle hours.

This place almost ruined our whole trip. Our room was a sauna- hot air blew when air was on-electric towel warmer was on all night making it unbearable- the hotle staff sent a maid who did not speak english to answer our questions and refused to give us a different room. We tried to sleep with the window open however there were a number of stray cats howling, literally howling, ALL NIGHT! top that off with guests in the very loud hallways at all hours dragging their luggage up and down the stairs- it was absolutely miserable. Fuimicno is a terrible place to stay- nothing was open on the entire strip of a very dirty beach- not the pisturesque placed we'd hoped for for our last day. Stay in Rome, the proximity to the airport is not worth it!!

No transportation from airport available when we arrived, but made special arrangement for departure. Directions to seaside restaurants led to newly opened Blu Marlin, which was fantastic! Internet access was good. Cappucino at early morning departure was most welcome.

We stayed at the Riviera on our last night in Rome before flying out of Da Vinci airport the next morning. Word to the wise, if you are heading here from Rome and are taking mass transit, leave plenty of time and get bus and train schedules ahead of time. We winged it and had a three hour plus trip to the hotel. As for the hotel itself, we called for a shuttle pickup from the airport and the driver arrived promptly. Do not take a cab from the airport. They tried to soak us for 45 Euros! The hotel is not far from the airport (not five minutes away as I've seen advertised) and the morning shuttle back to the airport was waiting for us in the morning and very fast. The night staff who we dealt more with was very helpful. My wife, who was three months pregnant, was not feeling well after the long trip to the hotel and they provided us with some items like water and napkins to use for tissues. The room itself was an average size for Italy with very basic appointments. But for a one night stay before going home, it was more than suitable. They also provided breakfast in the morning, but we didn't have time to try anything. There are a few restaurants in the area down by the beach and I recommend one pizzeria, I think the name was Mirage, a few blocks away mainly because they were extremely polite and helpful in getting us food to take back to the room. They even loaned us silverware to use, which I made sure to return to them with a big thank you. In all, aside from getting to the hotel, our stay was an enjoyable one. I would recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Call ahead and get shuttle information (10 euro for a group vs. 30 for a cab). This is an fine hotel for the night before you leave Italy. The shuttle bus was reliable and direct. The sea is VERY close and beautiful. Try to get here in time to see the sunset. There are breakers and a sand beach. I thought the beach was as nice as anywhere along Italy's Western coast.

Overall we found this hotel to be a pleasant one. The family room was a lot smaller than we'd anticipated, particularly for the price. The staff were very gracious and we were delighted with the restaurant that was recommended to us. The breakfast was really limited in terms of options but what was there was of good quality.

The staff was very helpful with everything from making phone calls to suggesting places to eat. There is a restaurant a block away that sits across the road from the beach. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood, and it was very quiet on a weekend night. The room was very large, with good temperature controls. The bed was huge, and the bathroom was spacious as well. It was a very nice place to recover from my hop across the pond. The breakfast was continental but good. Nice chewy croissants and fresh cappacino as well as cereal, hard bread, and juices. There is a computer that guests can use to access the internet for free in the breakfast/common area. I would recommend this place highly. The only trouble I had was getting here-it is quite a drive through many winding streets. The taxi driver had to stop and ask directions but did so cheerfully and got my there fairly quickly despite this.

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel in order to be near the airport. It is a shabby establishment and I would not recommend it. There was a cockroach outside our room, the parking was too small and the hotel is very difficult to find. A poor value for the money. Few decent places to eat in the vicinity.

The location of the hotel is good - close to the beach and to the airport. The hotel has Airport shuttle service (for a fee). I felt the room rates are a little too high for the size and quality of the room.

This is a nice place to stay. The room we had was beautiful. Marbel floors. Balcony. The staff was great. They even gave us a free ride to a local resturant because it was late and raining. The pictures on the web pages do not do this place justice.

We were a couple with one son who used this hotel, so as to be close to the airport for our departure. The two young men we got to meet at the reception were nice and spoke English. Breakfast was okay and sufficient, but sweet (no cheese, no fresh bread) ~ I think it is called "continental breakfast".

When you consider the alternatives it is an attractive choice. It is better than spending several hundred dollars at the airport Hilton. It is also better than taking the train into Rome and back to the airport the next day and spending the same or more for a room.

For the price Riviera was OK. The walls were paper thin, but I don't think there were any other guests staying near us. We reserved a room here because it was near the airport. We returned our rental car at the airport at 3pm, but the Riviera's shuttle didn't start until 5pm. As a result we had to pay a significant amount more to rapacious cabbies. The hotel did arrange for the shuttle to be available early for us the next day. There is only one restaurant within walking distance from the Riviera. It is right on the sea and its food is very good, but, like most restaurants in Italy, it didn't open for dinner until 7pm.
