This place was pure luxury. We felt like we were in a movie when we were showed to our room, luggage carried for us of course. The room was beautiful, extremely comfortable, and spacious. And the spa!!! See all of Chartres before you go or you won't see anything in town because the spa is so nice you will not leave.

My wife and I have stayed in Chartres before and enjoyed other hotels, we found the reception staff very helpfull and were looking forward to our stay however in the restaraunt it was as if we were treated as second class once it was noticed we were British. Our food was late even to the point of vegetables arriving when the meal was finished and staff in my opinion ignoring us as long as possible verging on being just rude. I would definately not recommend staying here.

First time. Generally very good. A very pleasant bar area in the evening, and one could also sit outside at the front. We would stay again. The only exception was breakfast on the Sunday. We were towards the end of breakfast, and some things had run out, e.g. hot water, and it took some time to get some. Breakfast (15 euros)was also relatively expensive if one wanted only croissants and coffee/tea.

My wife and I were on holiday for two weeks so we got to stay in a lot of hotels. This hotel was by far the best. We also ate in the restaurant at the hotel the eventing that we arrived and that too was excellent. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay at it again. The town of Chartres is beautiful also and the cathedral is a must see. There was an outdoor car show going on in the pavilion across the street from the hotel and that too was a lot of fun.

This is an excellent hotel. Nice position and easy walk everywhere around town. Good quality and service. A bit of a long walk from reception to the final room... but nevertheless great room... Sloping roof with small window the only down-side and it was hard to find something negative!

Everything well in our stay. Only one, very important thing, considering the fact we've been there in January: heating is quite noisy! We had to switch it off in the nightime!

We arrived by car, and were unfamiliar with the city. While there is an unloading zone, finding it was a bit of a hassle. Many streets surrounding the hotel are one-way and the hotel is at the confluence of about six streets, so we had to circle several times before finding our way. Once we had parked the car in the hotel lot a short walk down the street, we were set.

What I like most was the furnishings of public areas and rooms, with "beaucoup de recherche et de goût"

The hotel had direction signs once you entred chartres, which helped to get you to their valet parking area easily. We would not have driven this way. The staff were very helpful. They put up with my poor French with courtesy, but had impeccable English when my language skills failed.

We arrived from the US at the Charles de Gaulle airport and drove to Chartres after an all night flight. The hotel was welcoming and provided plenty of comfort, privacy and a quiet atmosphere. The rooms were immaculate in cleanliness and in decoration. The beds were very comfortable and the ambience was sumptuous. A tray of cafe au lait brought to my room in the early am was a special treat and worthy of a photograph. My first of the trip.

An excellewnt stay altough if I have to be picky the lack of extraction in the toilet was a problem when it is small and confined.

Hotel cannot be blamed for all the building work going on around it at the moment, but one of the two rooms we had was very smoky, the sheets and towels in both room smelt strongly of tobacco smoke and the children's bed that was set up for our youngest was so old as to be unusable. Disappointing overall for a Best Western Hotel.

You currently have extensive street works outside. We were not advised of this. Our drive to you was 7 hours plus 50 minutes trying to find you. It was a long day. Please arrange more signage to help find you. Otherwise you have a beautiful hotel in grand city which we will want to visit again one day. Tell us when the works have finished.

I took a luxury single room and was very happy with it. The hotel is very nice and the staff helpful. The only drawback is that the square (place Epars) oustide is till a massive area of roadworks. It is unsightly and forces a frustracting detour in walking from the hotel to the centre of town. Hopefully it will be finished some time this summer (2005)

It was unfortunate that the square outside was under archealogical dig conditions and huge road building works were ongoing. The hotel did their best to help by parking the car etc but some warning of the state of the town would have been nice

As of July 2004, major building work is taking place in the place des Epars - although this did not disturb us in our room, it does spoil the appearance of the area around this nice old hotel - the building work is scheduled to continue for over 1 year!
