If you arrive by train you need to know Cartagena has hills in the town. On leaving the station turn right to get to the Paseo Alphonso, on the flat - not up and and then down a hill. Hotel rooms are comfortably furnished with a classic look. As the breakfast was expensive we used a local Carrefour - which doesn't open till 9:30 am! The hotel restaurant (lunch/supper)prepares good quality food.
