The staff is rude and bad educated in our bathroom, really small, there was few soap and broken things, only the location, the view from d room and the bed were amazing and confortable, but in the room there was no frigobar and one day we had no cleaning room service, we also pay an over charge (35 euros) to keep the room till 5 pm the checkout day and we were awake at 10 because the room keeper was not advised about. Comparing to what we pay (285 euro per night) is absolutely not to suggest to anyone.

Hotel was is very good condition (I noted comments that it was renovated within last 2 years). Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Location of the hotel was good, just on the southern extremity of the centre of the city canals meant we walked into the centre each day (though getting a tram would probably make more sense). Double rooms our group stayed in were very neat and clean though extremely compact (just enough room to be able to walk around the bed). Would have given close to 10/10 ratings if it wasn't for the excessive noise made by cleaners (and possibly other guests) (loudly closing doors and a noisy goods lift used by cleaners) from 7am each morning. We all stayed in basement level (-1) of the hotel which has marble floors in the hallway so this would seem to make the noise situation worse. (especially the cleaners trolleys). Other 2 members of my travel group also complained of same excessive noise. Only other complaint was my double bed mattress seemed to have badly sagged (ie springs gone/damaged) so wasn't the most comfortable nights rest. Other group members did not have a similar complaint though they were given rooms with two single mattresses put together.

We requested a cot-bed and after it was open in our bedroom it was difficult to move as there was no more room. We were offered a room in the 'ground' floor, which basically is a basement with bit of light coming from the inner patio. Our room was next to the hotel laundry and there was a dreaded smell in the area.

Our only complaint was that the tap over the basin in the bathroom is too long and makes it difficult to wash your face or shave. The staff were fantastic and the location excellent.

They charged me something I did not use (IE. hot deal handmating for 350 Euro twice, Breakfast for 2 instead of 1 for 25 Euro & drinks lounge for 4 euro). I have to call them when I go back to US. The room has bad order from bathroom (drainage at the shower). When I took a shower, entire bathroom was flooded because of poor construction of the divider. I would never go back there or recommend to my friends.

The hotel is very good located, surrounded by nice stores for shopping and quite close to the museums and the city centre. Rooms are spacious and silent, the hotel in general is very modern and efficient. Sure I'll be back in the future.

The room was adequate in a city that is challenged to provide reasonable quality combined with fair price. One half of the staff could use guest relations training. The other half were reasonable and accommodating. Good location.

An overall nice hotel, even if the room was very much on the small side. The hotel has a nice location, and the inner city is easily reachable on foot. Getting to the hotel is also easy, both from the airport (by bus) and from the central station (by tram). While they do offer free wireless internet, their solution is unfortunately not compatible with all devices, which can be somewhat of an issue.

At this Hotel it's required a caution 50€, that you can pay cash or by your credit card . I think it would be better if, before coming people are informed about it. When I travel I don't keep my credit card.

For the price, the hotel location and services were excellent. The single standard room was totally adequate for one person, a little small for two. The bathroom was small, but clean and modern. The decor could be brightened up a bit. I would definitely recommend for those who do not need all the five-star luxuries. Free internet in lobby and help and friendliness of staff were definitely a plus. Felt safe in the area.

The location of the hotel is very good. The center of the city can be reached on foot. The public areas are clean and in good shape. The room was very very small. However, the bathroom was refurnished not long ago. The hotel room was also clean.

The hotel has a great location, but the rooms are very small, furthermore we were proposed a really stinky one at the beginning, then we had problem with air con, it was very hot and we couldn't open the window because of street noise, so we changed room again, and the service, help and comprehension for all this was really poor, therefore the high price we paid is not justified.

Fantastic location, next door to the Rijksmuseum and less than five mins walk to Van Gogh museum and Vondelpark. If you want to balance museums and quiet stuff with the usual Amsterdam madness (like we did), this hotel is perfect. 20 min walk to Dam SQ and trams go by every few mins

Tiny tiny tiny room. i shared it with a female friend. we literally had to announce to the other person when one of us had to go to the bathroom because the other person needed to step aside for the door. the shower drain gives a smell of sewage, which stayed for all 3 nights we were there. we had to run the water for a few minutes every night to wash away the smell in order to take a shower. the shower is small. sink is so small. everything is so small and crowded! the location is wonderful. only 1 block away from rijksmuseum and a half more block van gough museum. but ladies, be careful walking on the nearby streets after dark because it gets very quiet after the museums are closed. we witnessed a couple almost got robbed by a passing motorcycle one night, right in front of the rijksmuseum! it could have been us if we were to walk just 10 seconds quicker! That's the reason why they lock the door at night and u have to tell them ur name thru the intercom

It is our 4th experience with Best Western, but never would have expected such an room. - We got a room in the cellar ? at -1 stage ? - At the window, the view was a wall at 3 meters, and the garbage local ... - Waking up at 07:50 by the noise. The garbage manager probably ... - We comply at the reception. The reply was "I you had said that before, we would have given you another room" ... Why to propose such a room then ??? - The room was tiny. There was even no chair !

BUONE VACANZE A TUTTI

I showed up with a reservation and was told they didn't have any room; i was the 4th person there with the same situation and saw multiple more next day; Be sure they have a room for you BEFORE you arrive. They put us on another hotel far away from the city center but didn't want to pay the difference on price (more expesive) and/or taxi/train expenses I incurred due to their incompetence. The location of the place is unbeatable though.

This was our second stay and Hotel is still undergoing renovations. Rooms are very small and there is no discount for noise from workers beside and above your room! Is is well located to everything but as is all accomm in Amsterdam, it is expensive for the tiny room you get.

The only drawback to this very pleasant hotel was that it was extremely cold - both in the shared areas and in our room. There seemed to be no heating at all - not a good idea in late December.

This hotel can be highly recommended for its location, being just minutes away from the major museums and close to tram and bus stops. Th single room I had was very small and looked dated (lots of beige and brown). Obviously it hadn't undergone the renovation work that had uplifted the public areas of the hotel.

The location is terrific, and the hotel itself is quite nice, despite the rooms being extraordinarily small. However the staff left a bad taste in my mouth, as well the 18 euro breakfast. Make sure you reserve a the breakfast, even if you don't think you'll use it!!! Its the only place around to eat breakfast, and with a reservation its only 12 euros. They won't make you pay for it if you don't show up. If you are short or unsteady on your feet, make sure you don't get a room with a tub. Very high sides and difficult to get in and out of. The front desk staff are of below average intelligence, and don't understand the concept of hospitality. If you know that going in, it won't be so jarring when they do or say something stupid or offensive. Don't go outside to smoke in the morning while the front desk guy is emptying the trash, because he'll lock you out until he's finished. I have more examples, but I'll stop here.

Our first room was comfortable but tiny with insufficient room to place more than one suitcase for unpacking and no storage space. On the first night the bathroom had a bad sewere smell. We complained and something was done, however on the second night the sewer smell came back but ten times worse such that we could not sleep and were up most of the night. We were then moved to an even tinier romm with one small bed and again we had a very poor night due to such cramped conditions. In addition the elevator was out of action for 24 hours and my wife had serious difficulty with the stairs. The alarm system was out of order. The hotel is a health hazard. I truly believe that we are entitled to a refund of a minimum of 50% of money paid.

The room offered was substandard. Did not have in-room telephone. Had to go all the way to reception to make even local calls. Was offered room which was under renovation. Room heating was poor. Had to remind few times before I got additional heater. No elevator. Had to carry luggage 2 floors on the staircase

This hotel has recently been redecorated to a fairly high standard. Its situation is excellent for those interested in visiting sites like the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum and the better shopping areas. The standard room we were given was very small though through open doors we (wife and self)could see larger rooms but did not question the allocation. The public area is very attractive and breakfast available is well worth the additional charge. Staff were at all times pleasant, helpful and efficienct. Previous notes here mentioned a night time smell and this still lingers but only in the corridor, not in the room. Is it perhaps conntected to the canal cleaning process? For the price - no frills, clean and comfortable, highly recommended.
