Hotel Best Western Ajaccio Amiraute - Ajaccio

Great view of Ajaccio Bay from our room. Restaurant next door very convenient, affordable and generous menu. Restaurants are only open for lunch between 12 noon to 2:30 PM. Dinner begins at 7:30 PM so if you miss lunch be prepared to eat at a Creppery or Pizza place. The daily breakfast buffet was very satisfying for 9 Euros. We took a few wrapped cheeses and an apple to snack on through the day. No consierge in the hotel but there is a visitor center in town. If you don't speak French well, best to have an English interpreter. streets were well marked so we found it easy to follow a map.

Hotel is new, large and very contempary. The rooms are very nice, neat, clean and spacious. And, the price was reasonable considering that this is the capital city of Corsica. The problems are with the staff and the location. The front desk is staffed by personnel that is unfriendly, abrupt unresponsive and untrained. They seemed not to care if we stayed there or not. We had to ask for a Wifi password and then it did not work in the room. When we reported this problem to the front desk, they just shrugged their shoulders. They had no city map, made no suggestions about where to eat or what to see. The hotel location is another issue. It is essentially isolated by the main highway. You cannot walk anywhere, everything is by car.

The hotel was excellent, and we had a good meal in the Courtepaille next door - I have no hesitation in recommending both.

Hotel davvero eccellente... camere belle, pulite e spaziose... connessione a internet e parcheggio gratuiti e piscina a strapiombo sul Porto di Ajaccio... Solo le vicinanze dell'albergo lasciano un pò a desiderare, dato che la città offre davvero poco, ma del resto l'albergo serve solo come base d'appoggio... I paesaggi e le spiagge che offre la Corsica sono davvero da sogno... e l' Hotel Amiraute è davvero un ottimo punto di partenza!!!

The only problem we had was there was no tea/coffee facility in the room and when we asked for a tray to be provided as instructed in the room information pack, we were directed to the bar who were not at all happy for us to take a coffee up to our room. The coffe we had was charged for. As this is our only comment overall a very good stay.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel. It's brand new, very clean and the employees are very kind and helpful. We had a very spacious superior room with an excellent view of the bay and the swimming pool. There is also free wireless internet access in the rooms. Although the hotel is not near the town center, there is a bus station nearby. We didn't have many choices at the restaurant, but whatever we ordered was very nice and tasty. I can't think of anything negative to write, our stay there was excellent.

Modern hotel very close to Ajaccio center; nice and spaciaous rooms, nice swiming pool, friendly staff, free parking places avaialble. Only minus: a busy road nerby that you hear when you sit outside.
