Hotel Bastion Centrum Zuidwest - Amsterdam

Einen Tag vorher bekam ich telefonisch die Nachricht, dass wir in einem anderen Bastion-Hotel in Zaandam einchecken müssen! Dieses Hotel liegt weit außerhalb von Amsterdam und wir haben einen erheblichen Aufwand gehabt, zum Marathon und in die City zu kommen. Außerdem war das Hotel teurer! Dieses ist kein guter Service!!! In dem Hotel in Zaandam wurde während unseres Frühstücks das Buffet abgeräumt!!!

I would recommend to the hotel management: 1) to add a hairdryer to the rooms ( other 3 stars hotels have such a thing); 2) to organize an additional tram stop located closer to the hotel, on the very same tram line which goes along the highway passing just near the hotel. 3) to give free ear plugs to each guest, together with the packets of shampoo/soap. I understand that the hotel management is not interested to mention in the Internet advertisement that the hotel is built in close proximity to a heavy traffic road crossing. But at least: - this fact could be used to significantly improve the tourists' transportation to the city center ( if there was an access to the tram line and a tram stop close to the hotel); - the traffic noise could be neutralized by using ear plugs at night, would they be readily available (otherwise you just cannot open the window). The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good. However, the service was not exciting: our friends could not get an additional pillow during three (!!) nights. We could not get sufficient explanation/directions concerning location of some standard places in Amsterdam (in our case it was the Budget rent car office). I believe such standard questions are often asked by the guests.

hotel un peu loin du centre mais calme et bien desservi par les tram (10 mn de marche quand même jusqu'a la station) ; donc pour une ville comme Amsterdam ça ne pose pas de problème.

Location okay, tolerable traffic noise as next to a major intersection. Clean rooms, friendly service, good breakfast buffet. Free, secured parking, this is a real plus! Short walk to tram (streetcar) stop. Trams will take you all over the city, ask for a 24 hour ticket, it´s a good deal.

le premier intérêt de l'hôtel est sa situation: à proximité de l'autoroute et d'une station du tramway n°1 qui conduit en quelques minutes à Leidseplein et à la Central Station. (Il est aussi possible de marcher de Leidseplein à l'hôtel !). Le parking (6 EUROS en plus) est très sécurisé. Le petit déjeuner (10 EUROS par personne en plus, il serait bon de l'indiquer!) est tout à fait "intéressant". Nous revenions pour la troisième fois à cet hôtel (après plusieurs autres séjours à Amsterdam dont les formules nous paraissent moins commodes)
