Good hotel, far from city center, car needed

+good services and spaces, -family groups to isla magica very very noisy! ---- strong smoke smelling in the rooms!!! +pleasant swimming pool -pool time too limited

Reception and Bar Staff not particularly helpful or welcoming, but otherwise eveything up to the standard of a Barcelo Hotel

It needs heavy renovations

It was a long way from Seville centre -you could not walk it in summer temperatures (+-35 degrees). There were always available spaces in the parking silos in the town centre however, albeit at a few euros cost. Driving from the airport to the hotel was not easy. The hotel would do well to post a detailed description of which roads to follow -there is one big junction in particular where you mustn't make a mistake! yes, we did, and saw a lot of Seville. The hotel felt almost deserted, even in late-July, so the atmosphere was a bit lacking, but on the whole, it was a satisfactory stay.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Barceló Gran Hotel Renacimiento in Sevilla, but we were in the hotel for less than 24 hours. We were on a tour of Andalusia and had an early flight and just needed a place to stay overnight. That said, our overall impressions of the hotel were quite favorable and I would probably stay here on a return trip. The rooms were clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. The quality of the service was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful (generally the case in Spain, which seems to be the only country in the Mediterranean where customer service and courtesy seem to matter). I would recommend the hotel for all travelers, but families with children would do especially well to stay here as it is right next door to a huge amusement park.

The hotel staff were quite curt and not at all helpful. They sent us to a restaurant for dinner and it was closed - we asked specifically if it would be open. We repeatedly found the staff to be unfriendly and miffed at any request for information. The hotel was clean,comfortable,and the room was spacious. The location was not near any interesting sites or restaurants. I would not stay there again.

This hotel was very good value for money. Breakfast was first class. The service could not have been better and the personnel very kind and helpful. The only problem was actually finding the hotel. Our TomTom could not find the address. We eventually did with the help of the hotel. Please note that the hotel has a car park and that it is a good 40 mn walk from the centre of Seville.

Although the hotel is quoted at 5 stars, it is under the other 4 stars hotels where we stayed in Spain. The room has old furniture and it is smaller, old bathroom with imbrued faience (water-melon i think) which wasn't cleaned by the room-service, the safe deposit box didn't work (the battery was over).

Overall, nice hotel, attentive staff and close to everything.

Very good value for money hotel. Clean, large rooms, nice bathroom, good infrastructure, competent and pleasant staff. Ideally located 5 minutes in car from city center (even though direct surroundings have little interest). Free parking possibilities in the street in front of the hotel Great breakfast! By far the best hotel we've been in in Andalucia.

Really a good bargain, and a real 5 stars hotel. Donn't miss it.

Excllent cost benefit - it is indeed a 5 star hotel. Very low hotel rates and high breakfast cost (14 E). Best if you have a car - located 2 km from downtown.

Hotel in middle of building site. But very large and spacious and good value for money. Only hotel where we were asked to pay on arrival which seemed a bit off. Nice pool. Only stayed one night en route to Gibraltar from Portugal.

I went to Sevilla dreading what was to come after reading some of the more negative reviews of the hotel i had chosen. But i let my open mind take over and i was more than pleasently surprised . Granted it takes 30 minutes to get to the Plaza Espana by foot but it is a pleasent walk and has been said beore the cab fares are so reasonable it really doesn't matter. As for the hotel it was lovely i have stayed at a number of Barcelo hotels and they have always been perfectly fine for the traveller who needs simple clean accomodation well located and with pleasent staff. I found this hotel an absolute bargain even taking into account taxi fares. It was airy , spacious , clean, comfortable. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was large, clean quiet and well appointed and despite it being a huge hotel none if the amenities were too far away. I would recommend it to all but the most mobility challenged and furthermore when i return to Sevilla it is there i will stay.
