THE HOTEL DECOR IS OLDER THAN ME! This hotel is in definite need of a remodel. The rooms were clean but the décor is something you would find in an assisted-living community. The bathroom in some places looked like it was patched up by MacGyver. The best feature in the bathroom was the instantaneous hot water and the rainfall shower head (but the head is too low if you are over 6ft tall - you might lose an eye). The AC was cold and functional. The TV channels were clear and offered a decent selection. Power was continuously going out on the 1st day of our stay, with it not being out for more than 15 minutes. The iron provided in the room did not work. The food was slightly above average (did not try the restaurant) and sanitary. The alcohol was horrible as they use house liquor only (although I did see top shelf which I guess is cash bar) and they make the drinks strong, which would normally not be a problem if quality liquor was used. Coco Bongo night club is 1 block away and I could clearly hear the music through the closed balcony sliding doors. Upon my departure, when asked if I enjoyed my stay, I complained to the front desk but got no apology nor response. WILL NOT STAY AGAIN!

I must say that the hotel animators is what makes me want to go back to this place the last 4 times. The Animation team is very Pleasant. However in this last trip there were many locals staying at the hotel and the entire weekend was a very big challenge. I would suggest a code of conduct document to be distributed to everyone to ease the rudeness and crazyness. I am sorry to say but glad when they were gone on Monday. Also a few of the staff member need to take a classes on customer services as some were extremely rude.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. HORRIBLE MOTEL. YOU CANNOT EVEN RATE THIS A RESORT. FORGET ABOUT THE ALL INCLUSIVE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE COMING OUT YOUR POCKET IN THIS PLACE. DIRTY ROOMS, POOL, GHETTO PEOPLE, THEY ALLOW LOCALS TO ENTER THIS PLACE. SORRY BUT NEVER AGAIN. WE ONLY STOOD ONE NIGHT AND TOOK A BUS TO PUNTA CANA AND STOOD AT THE EXCELLENCE RESORT. OUR SECOND TIME THERE AND WE LOVED IT. PUERTO PLATA HAS NOTHING TO OFFER. IM DOMINICAN BY PARENTS BUT SAD TO SAY I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.

I will be back. Best hotel in the Playa Dorada complex for young people. Located 1 block from the golf course which is first class. I used the golf courses new service call golfixx.com which help me drive the ball 20 yards longer than before. Puerto Plata is a beautiful town with friendly people. My kids are 18, 21 and 24 they can not stop talking about the place. Good food, nice beach and friendly people.

I would not recommend any to stay at this resort and i use that term loosely. The food was terrible, the rooms were a disaster. My bathroom was falling apart paint peeling in bathtub and other areas, all apliances were older than me (27), and i was charged $177 for a radio that they knew was damaged when i was given the room and is not worth more than $30. And it is to far from the more fun things to do in the area. Would never ever stay there, even if i was PAID to stay there. Terrible terrible experience, anyone reading this please stay away.
