Barceló Capella Beach Resort - Juan Dolio

The check-in and check-out was really bad, I waited 3 hours to check-in and I waited 2 hours to check-out.

The hotel is nice, a little dated, loved the beach. I would recommend the staff get training on how to treat their customers and make it a customer centric experience. At the end of my stay, it was clear they only cared about themselves. They do nothing to make it a pleasurable event for you or your family.

The resort has become a little old but is still the best in Juan Dolio (I was in all of them). A problem is the slow reception. Inappropriate is that for wireless internet you have to pay 350 DOP/day (now complimentary in much cheaper hotels). Not worth the effort is to book one of the special restaurants (French, Dominican, Grill), the normal buffet is better even if identical almost every day.

The hotel is very well located. The beach is beautiful. The food at the bufet is very acceptable. The rooms look very old. The sheets and pillows are worn. The service is very slow. Do not go on weekend because is full of local DR people that pays for a full-day tariff and colapse all services. I do not recommend this hotel to go with your family. During my stay,there were many drunk people and also many prostitutes.

Everything excellent. The only problem arose from a mismatching between Hotel and venere.com I made the booking by phone and was given a clear information about the fact that two children would be accomodated in our room and the price of the room. At our arrivak they did not have any information about children and had to pay an extra which amounted to about 80 % more tha what had been agreed. I complained by email to customer service and received no reply I called by phone and was sonfirmed that venere knew of the booking with children No clear answer about the price, but was told that my two conversations on this were recorded and I would receive a reply. Until now i did not. I am a frequent user of venere.com and this drawback in their service is a big unpleasant surprise for me

I arrived late due to weather delay. I called your help desk and was advised that you would inform Capella that I was delayed and to extend my reservation. When I arrived, I found no record of my reservation and the rate was not honored. The hotel did not attempt to contact you nor to provide anything other than two days lodging. I moved to another hotel two days later. This whole travel reservation and communication between you and the hotel was horrible.
