Hotel Barcelo Eresin Topkapi - Istanbul

The hotel is not a 5 star facility. It is certainly not in the same category as the Sheraton, Hilton or the Marmara. The hotel is tired and worn and the rooms especially are in need of update and refurbishment. The staff at all times were helpful and cooperative.

The hotel is located 10 minutes away from the major attractions area and it is very well connected with a very frequent and cheap tram service. Our stay was great and the value for money we got was excellent. I recommend you book a transfer from/to the airport! The room service was a little pricey but the food was amazing! I would only recommend the staff in reception spoke a better English: for a five-star hotel this should go without saying...

The hotel is out of the way, but it's has good service & comfortable (though dated) rooms. Not surprising then, that most of the travellers staying there are with large organized tour groups - we saw many groups checking in & out during out stay. The hotel is not within walking distance of major attractions, so it's good they have the large tour bus to bring them around. But the hotel offers good value for money, so we're happy. We're especially impressed by Venere.com as this was a last minute booking & they were extremely efficient & offered us the best value for money compared to the 6 other websites I checked out.

Stayed on a Saturday night. They had a wedding and the boom boom of the music was really loud and lasted until 3am. Wish I had ear plugs. Glad I didn't have a meeting the next day. Otherwise perfect.

Excellent hotel. Not quite in the most atractive part of Istambul, yet there is a nice tram that takes you directly to the historical areas in about 10 minutes.

I thing it is not very good for a 5* hotel.

Very suprizing thing happened.first they quoted me 350 euros per night and when go to venere.co it was only 102 euros. shall ı thank to venere or is this a general startegy of barcello ?

We chose this hotel because of its good rating because it had a restaurant and also its location was shown on the website map being quite close to the main landmarks. On arrival it was clear that the actual location of the hotel was not where it was/is shown on that map. It is in fact very close to the old city walls and much further away from the main historic attractions of the city in the sultanamet area.To far to walk. The restaurant or more particularly the food on offer in the evening a la carte was a disappointment, the menu did not change on the 5 nights we were there] and after two nights we opted to travel into the sultanamet area for our evening meals. The breakfasts [buffet] were ok until the tour groups arrived [saga etc] when the restaurant became very crowded and a bit of a scrum so that you had to get down early to find a table, cutlery and food. As independent travellers the saving grace for this hotel a tram stop outside [and a frequent service [1.30 lira [50p] albeit crowded to go as far as the Sultanamet [10 min] Eminonu and Beyoglu with funicular to Taksim square.

Stayed for 5 days. Excellent hotel and staff. Breakfast good, though a bit overpriced. Location on tram line a plus.

Wonderful staff- overall an excellent hotel - I would not hesitate to return there and will recommend it to others
