Very clean & modern hotel. I normally look for a good price above everything, so was pleasantly surprised at what I got for my money! Not really a backpacker's kind of place, but obviously very popular with tourists coming for the Guggenheim (very handy for the Museum and for the town centre). The staff were very efficient, and made sure my camera case with memory cards were returned when I lost them in the foyer, and when I had given up ever seeing it again.

Not very welcoming. Bar staff miserable, reception staff average. One good staff member was the "porter" who helped us park in the very cramped underground parking and escorted us to reception.

Unbeatable location and cleanliness. 7th floor standard rooms offer river views as well. Easy to reach with tram from the bus station, crossing the Calatrava bridge, but not if you are travelling with your baggage.

Hotel was ok apart from the old air-conditioning that was making very loud noises all night which kept me awake. The staff spoke very little English so it was hard to communicate. Had to make several attempts in getting a bath towel.

On the plus side this hotel is excellently situated right on the river between the old town and the Guggenheim. Its a clean, well appointed hotel but I have to say that the hotel reception staff on duty when I arrived were unwelcoming. I didnt receive a Hello, Welcome or How are You, nothing. First impressiions last as they say. I also enquired about massage as advertised in the hotel brochure in my room but staff knew nothing about it and referred me back to brochure in my room which said contact reception.

Hotel was in a very good location just next to the river with a short walk from the old town, shopping street and gugenheim museum. We where lucky as the hotel overbooked and we received a massive room with river view. However this is a 3 star hotel, the room was a bit worn out with wall paper coming down and dirty carpet. However the bathroom was very nice and the room was clean. I`m more than happy to stay in this hotel again for this price because of the location.

The best thing about this hotel is its excellent location on the river between the Guggenheim Museum, the center and the old town. All were within easy walking distance. Aside from that, it is a clean, modern hotel suited to any kind of traveler---a good value.

Barcelò nervion is a good choice but I had some little problem. 1- they assigned me a twin room enven if I reserved a double. 2- I told them about the problem and they assigned me a double room, but very little.

Hotel Barcelo Nervion was very well situated for both the old and new parts of the city. The added bonus of the new tram system made getting around Bilbao very easy and very inexpensive. As we both like walking, being on the river bank made for a plesant stroll any time of day.

Location of hotel is just across the river from the Guggenheim, nice 10 minute stroll. Rooms are of a good size, and staff were friendly. Only complaint was from our loud talking neighbours, could hear them through the walls. Overall, a nice modern hotel to stay in, recommended and would stay there again.

I was very lucky as I actually booked a double room for individual use and as the Hotel was full they gave me a suite, so couldn't be better. The breakfats was not included ,but you can have a basic breakfast for 4 euros in the Hotel, and there is a bigger one with more options but that one is a little expensive around 12 euros, or you have nice places to have a breakfast just outside the Hotel to the left. the Hotel is very modern but cozy and perfectly clean the rooms. The only but, I needed for my mobile charger (which is irish and have three plugs) a adapter, and they say in the room service booklet that they have but when I ran they didn't have.Hopefully they will improve that. The Hotel is 10 minutes walking to the right to the Guggenheim museum.

I really liked to stay at Barceló Nervión. We payed very little but got much in return! Breakfast wasn't included but you get an extended breakfast buffet for only 6,5 euro. It's close to the Guggenheim museum. The room is somewhat small but clean and comfortable. Very good hotel!

Hotel was more corporate than we usually book but had a nice, busy atmosphere. Staff were friendly and extremely welcoming - don't speak much English so try some Spanish with a smile and they'll help you out.. Rooms were very clean and well-maintained. Lifts took ages so you might want to walk unless you're on the top floor. Bar is very nice for breakfast and it's a short walk to Casca Viejo to the left and Guggenheim to the right. Metro and trams are very reliable so give them a try. We'll return to BIlbao and would stay here again.

With my second visit to Bilbao, this hotel has been described as "very close to Casco Viejo." However in vain, it is over 1km away from a hotel, so I had to carried two bottles of waters all the way from Casco Viejo. Also, I did not think about a size of this hotel. It is quite large hotel, so I had to walk down all the way to get to my room from an elevetor, sigh. Taking showers from my neighborhood rooms are so evident from early in a morning. Otherwise, this hotel is nice located and clean.

Ho trovato l'hotel molto valido. Giusto mix tra qualità e prezzo. Personale cortese, ottima caffetteria.

The reception was not good. First, they couldn’t find the booking. I had forgot to bring confirmation on paper, so I had to search in Internet for my reservation before I got the room. The employers in the reception couldn’t speak English. The people in the reception was not service-minded. For instance, we asked a couple of times where we could buy stamps, and we felt that they got embarrassed. One time, a girl in the reception said that the stamps that the reception had before that day was finished, but they could send our postcards together with the mail from the hotel. So we gave her money for stamps. Those postcards are still missing, and we have told our the relatives that we don´t expect that they will get any postcards (It´s now 1 ½ week since we send them. If the postcards come – I will inform. I don´t like to accuse someone without reasons)

Everything was fine in the hotel but they did not have out booking and it took nearly an hour to find us accommodation on what was a very busy weekend in Bilbao. They maintained that the reservation number had nothing to do with them and that they had never heard of Venare! We are therefore very wary about using your service again. We would appreciate a response from you about this.

The hotel is okay, but it is definetely not 4-stars even by European standards. The wall paintings in grass-green over the corridors is out of any taste. The restaurant was not open during our 2-days stay; the bar is not very attractive. I was upset on check out when they asked me to pay for the garage (9Eu/day), because on check in they said that the garage is free and the same was mentioned in a welcome kit in the room.

Really good value for money and excellent situated between Guggenheim Museum, old Theatre and tram station opposite river. Rooms good BUT noise level not - you hear the toilet flushes very loud from your neighbour. In the middle of the night the sudden hard noise wakes one with a schock. Contrary to other comments, the dinner in the restaurant was a huge disappointment - no English not even from a very unfriendly maitre d' who did not even understand when you ask for butter. With a tour group keeping them busy, they totally forget to care about their individual client.

Dear, Barcelo Nervio was a spacious hotel with excellent rooms (clean, luxury feel, silent, good beds, TV, Airco). Its also right in the center of Bilbao. When we noticed we only had to pay Euro 52 for a double room for 1 night we thought it was a mistake. Only a shame the hotel parking was full so we had to pay extra for an outside parking. This however was probably to do with the fact that there were fiesta's in Bilbao during our stay. Overall, I would recommend Barcelo Nervio very strongly to anyone visiting Bilbao, whether for business or leisure purposes. Best regards, O. Mullie
