Barcelo Hotel Atenea Mar - Barcelona

It's a very awful hotel, far away from metro, very difficult to find, transportation is quite inconvenient, no any obvious sign at the top of the building, bad attitude of reception, dirty and messy room, narrow space in the room, a lot of equipment were broken, like pipe, light and so on...the room heating doesn't work, feel so cool at night, bathroom was extremely messy, the bed sheet quiet dirty, seems long time didn't change at all!!! when I call reception desk for some questions, the man often cut what i am saying, the absurd is, I ask why they don't have teakettle, the staff said, why we need have?! they are four stars hotel, in my opinion, only deserve two stars!!!

Ottimo albergo (tutto in stile moderno), camere spaziose e ben arredate ottimo il bagno in camera; un po' distante dal centro ma tranquillamente col bus turistico o il tram 41 si arriva in centro e la fermata è a 50 mt(la fermata della metropolitana è tre isolati più in la') Ottimo il servizio e la pulizia delle stanze e della hall oltre che del ristorante: quest'ultimo è stata una buona sorpresa, piatti di qualità a prezzi abbordabili a differenza dei ristoranti turistici....

Very nice surroundings, only issue is distance from city centre (which I knew beforehand) that does not make the particular location handy for quick visits. Whoever is on a daily "heavy" touristic schedule though, should not encounter any problems...

Expensive hotel, but beautiful and spacious rooms. Didn't want to leave my hotel room!

Very nice hotel located outside of the city centre however in very close proximity of the trasport links. If you fly to Girone you should get on the Barcelona Bus which will take you to the Nord station (21EUR return ticket). You get out from the station just outside of the Arc De Triomf metro station. Go in and get yourself a T10 ticket (7,20EUR) which will give you 10 rides on the metro. Take the red metro line L1 direction Hopital de Bellvitge to the next station called Uruqinaona. Change at this station to line L4 (direction La Pau). Get off at station Selva de Mar. When you get out of the station look around and you will see where the sea is. Follow the road all the way to the T junction with the promenade by the sea and turn right (Venere's map indicates that you need to take left but that's wrong!!!!!) Take a right and the hotel is 200m from there you will see the big sign on the side of the hotel tower.

Fabulous very modern hotel. My stay was for just 2 nights, yet this was a great hotel to stay at. Beach front. Walking distance to transportation and mall. The room will knock your socks off if it wasn't for being on vacation I would of just stayed in the room. Highly recommend

Duble room, OK space for two, nice bathroom. Plenty of closets, communication to center of Barcelona good, some negative comments: refrigerator was not working, too warm, noise from aircondition from building nearby, last bus back to hotel at 11.00 pm.

Receptionist, room cleaning were always problematic BUT the worse was to find the hotel based on the confirmation letter. We went out from the map based on the hotel confirmation letter and finally a taxi driver "helped us" by double priced route without any paper (called black money?. hey) and you can imagine it was the best against the hotel phone number was switched off.

It took longer to get from the airport to the hotel than from England to Spain. You have to wait for the train, then change trains, then get a tram, then walk a long time. And the directions given aren't great. So do yourself a favor, take a taxi, not the train!! It's only about 25 Euros. The hotel is on the beach front so you just cross the street and there it is. A VERY nice hotel, big clean rooms and facilities. I would definitely recommend it to everyone and go back myself. It is a bit remote from the center but Bus 41 to La Ramblas stops close outside so you can get into the old center easily.

First time in barcelona. Hotel was fine, staff nice and friendly. this hotel was near the beach 450 meters which was nice nice nice. Buss into town 150 meters away.

We had some problem during check in because some miscommunication between Venere - Atenea Mar. But they act professionally and give us a room anyway ( a twin at first and change to a double afterwards ). Hotel was very clean and spacious. We stayed on 12th floor and not facing the beach. We thought it was bad, BUT it was not...we can see the city from our room. Surrounding was nice...a very cheap and GOOD chinese restaurant just across the Hotel, Hop On Hop Off bus stop also next to the hotel. A huge Mall (shopping for ladies) is about 20 minutes walk, and a big groceries also 10 minutes away ( this one a little bit hard to find...just ask ). U can reach the hotel with train...but taxi only cost 13 Euro to or from the main train station. We really enjoyed our stay here. Before you book another hotel, just consider this....a ** hotel in La Ramblas will cost you the same with this hotel, and it is **** hotel and directly to the beach !! Go ! stay here ! highly recomended.

Atleast 4 star hotel, very good hotel but location not very convinient, but still a good place to stay

Pictures showed more spacious rooms and in fact this is very small - High price considering the hotel is not in the center - Roomservice not welcoming - Restaurant : dinner and breakfast very good , however : too expensive ! (especially the breakfast)
